Welcome to a luxurious vacation retreat located directly on Little Assawoman Bay, with only a short stretch of wetlands between you and water for viewing and recreation. We are located in Bayville Shores, an immaculate waterfront community on Delaware Route 54 only a five minute drive away from the Atlantic Ocean beach of your choice: Fenwick Island(DE), a quiet family beach or Ocean City (MD) with its glitzier and noisier boardwalk and amusement park setting. Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach and Lewes are other splendid beaches a short drive up the Coastal Highway (Delaware Route 1).
What is special about our place? The view, the view, the view. Starting at the top, the third level deck off the master bedroom to the back is a great place to greet the day, breakfast, take the morning sun, or start your wildlife count. Later, sunset reflections grace the bay. And at night, from the deck's height the stars are that much closer. All, of course, is viewable from the master bed!
The second level, with tiled floor, opens to the same view from the fully equipped kitchen, the dining/great room (with gas fireplace) or the glass enclosed Florida room. The hot tub for four is on the ground level screened in porch that opens to a grassy area out back. Naturally, we have very strict age and safety rules for using the hot tub. The water is changed with each occupancy. Yes, one of those channels from the bay comes right to the backyard - put your sea kayak right in.
Bayville Shores prides itself in its quite elegance, family orientation and unity with nature. It is essentially an "all inclusive" resort, with open spaces for jogging, walking and cycling, courts for tennis,volleyball and shuffleboard, a playground for the kids, a boat ramp, a community crabbing/fishing pier, and a lakeside swimming pool (lap lanes and kiddie pool) and fitness center (aerobic machines and weights). The pool and fitness center, a minute walk away, are for your use with a special pass we provide.
Delaware boasts tax free shopping, notably at Rehoboth Beach's famous outlet malls and boutiques. The area is a golfers delight with more than a dozen nearby courses, including a new Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course five minutes away, the Carl M. Freeman Golf Club at Bear Trap Dunes, and Ocean City's River Run Golf Course designed by Gary Player. Or take the kids to a choice of fun miniature golf courses. Go fishing, jet or water skiing, sailing, parasailing, wind surfing, or at a slower pace, antiquing.
And for sure, indulge yourself in wonderful eatables, from boardwalk french fries, candy cotton, and frozen custard to elegantly prepared seafood at waterfront restaurants. We have menus from "tale outs" and fine restaurants available.
Summer is prime rental time, but we rent all year round. Even winter is a great time for a getaway and to bundle up for a walk on the beach.
