We spent several days at Riverfront in Three Rivers. We used this as a home base to explore the parks. The house was wonderful, it anticipated our every need and some we had not even considered. But the best part to us, was the peace and relaxation we felt sitting on the deck, watching the river and hill on the other side. We shortened one of our days at the park to do just that.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My family (Husband, a 3 yr old and a 1yr old, and Father in law) all absolutely loved this house! First of all it has the most amazing back yard. The property goes right up to the river, and there are plenty of chairs, a table and even a fire pit by the river. Then go up a few stairs to an amazing deck. Plenty of comfy seating and two nice tables that fit about 8 people each, and the best part two grills (gas and charcoal)! We cooked out here most nights and just really enjoyed the calm peaceful setting. My girls loved playing out back. Now to the house, you can tell this is the owner Laura's second home. The kitchen is fully stocked, it even has a waffle iron. My family wanted those every morning. The bedrooms were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels, blankets, and extras so you don't need to worry about a thing. There were even board games and lots of DVD's in the family room. It was wonderful to all cuddle up together at night and watch a movie. We can't wait to come back again. We all really loved the house and how close it was to the Sequoia Forest. Seriously stop looking at other houses, you won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We loved this house so much we were sad to leave it after a couple nights! In a great location, easy to find, you can't tell by pulling up to the unassuming house that there is a gorgeous backyard where you'll be spending most of your time if weather permits! The deck is huge—equipped with an outdoor kitchen and two large dining tables, along with plenty of chairs and side tables for lounging—looking over the river. Climb down some short stairs and you are on a grassy bank filled with chairs and river rocks—with the roaring river right at your disposal. I could have spent all weekend just sitting with my feet in the (icy cold!) water. It was such a peaceful haven, it felt like you were in the middle of the woods. The house itself was large, clean and very well-stocked with everything you can think of. Had a great stay, we highly recommend it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I am writing this from the deck of this incredible home. The pictures and description provided by the owner do not do this home justice. This has got to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have ever stayed. The home is beautifully set up, great, gourmet kitchen, well appointed pantry, pretty much everything you would need. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable, there is a great deck off of the master bedroom and even a fireplace. The outside deck is huge, everything you would want (heaters because it is rainy and cold right now) 2 BBQ's, tables, chairs, lights, just like you would see in Sunset magazine. The view of the river is breathtaking from nearly every room in the house. Hearing the sound of the river from inside this home(with the sliding glass door open) is very soothing and relaxing. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck, just nice, beautiful, serene and relaxing. Our only regret is that we are not staying longer. One of the first things we thought about is how great this place would be to bring our family or to come hear with another couple or a couple of couples. Sorry to keep rambling on here, but this home is the perfect retreat for us (and I imagine, everyone else too). We were greated with a welcome basket and a nice note form the owner. She gave us a nice bottle of wine (it is our anniversary get away) with a few goodies to go with it. We highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who wants to get away, relax and enjoy nature. We will be coming back. There is not one negative thing to say about the owner or this beautiful home and property. This place is to die for. Thank you for allowing us to stay here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We rented this house for a friend's birthday weekend. It was perfect! The owner clearly takes pride in providing such a perfect rental. We were 8 people, cooked multiple meals, ate outside on the various porch areas, hung out down by the river, and had easy access to the Sequoia park. Everything you could need is provided and it was spotlessly clean. It was perfect for our group of friends but would also work well for family gatherings and lots of space for kids. I highly recommend this property. We plan to return next year. Thanks so much for the experience!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

As the resident cook in my group of friends, I was supremely impressed with the kitchen supplies here. You'll find a plethora of dishes and kitchen tools, including, but not limited to: a beautiful new, large range/oven, a whole stack of half-sheet baking pans and even a WAFFLE IRON! We didn't get to utilize the waffle iron, but it's easily a reason to come back again. The only thing I would suggest you make sure to bring are any unusual spices you might want to use (there's plenty of garlic powder and other basic "rental property" spices like that, but no cumin, oregano, etc). There's a surprisingly well-stocked grocery store just a few minutes away for anything you may need or have forgotten. But the crown jewel that I haven't even mentioned yet? The whole extra kitchen on the back deck! With a large grassy backyard and the river running past, it doesn't get much better than grilling out there (both gas AND charcoal grills) surrounded by twinkle lights edging the deck. Eating breakfast, lunch and dinner on that deck was just heavenly, even though it was a little cool the weekend we went. The rest of the house is charming. We've stayed at other properties with a more open floor plan, which lent to a more party atmosphere, while this cabin is much more cozy--the bedrooms are more private and the kitchen, dining room and living room are also more separated rooms. Waking up early in the morning (I was relegated to the couch, which was cozy, no doubt), I loved grabbing a mug of tea and going to sit in the morning mist in the chairs by the river. We heard there were wild pigs living nearby, but they didn't show themselves, much to my disappointment. What we DID see, though, were bears galore in the nearby Sequoia National Park. If you are ever wondering the best time to visit Sequoia, I would, without a doubt, tell you October. The weather will be good-- it was a bit cool for us on Saturday (nothing a light sweatshirt, jeans and a hat couldn't keep me warm enough) and surprisingly warm on Sunday, but best of all you'll see bears up in the trees, eating acorns for the winter! Going in the Ash Mountain entrance closest to the cabin and up towards the Giant Forest and the Crystal Cave, be sure to look up in the trees! If you see a car stopped in the road, don't honk, sit there quietly and look around to figure out where they're seeing bears. Overall, this is a beautiful cabin to rent, perfect if you want comfort near the park. Highly recommendedRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

The house was everything that was promised and more. Lots of room, right on the river bank, super comfortable beds, so close to the entrance of Sequoia Park, wonderful and welcoming owner. I truly could go on and on. My favorite thing was the amazingly well stocked kitchen. It was such a treat to be in this kitchen. It was so nice not having to run to the store for salt, pepper, flour, oil, condiments, etc. You use what you need and leave what you brought for the next family. I felt right at home the instant we arrived. I can't wait to visit this home again.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We recently visited the Sequoia Park and stayed in this lovely home in Three Rivers. We are a family of 4, with one 3yr old and one 6yr old. The children needless to say absolutely loved the home's backyard river, the fire pit for roasting smores and the large trees and smooth boulders scattered throughout the property. The adults loved the porch, where we relaxed for most of our stay, even in the sprinkling rain. One note, when we arrived the porch was full of leaves, thus a quick sweep before arrival would have been appreciated. The kitchen was very well stocked, we cooked three of our four nights with ease. The welcome basket and wine left by Laura was very much appreciated, as were the small gifts for the children! They were completely spoiled, so much so that it was hard dragging them away to visit the park, which was only a quick 15-20 min scenic drive away. The fireplaces inside the home were stocked with wood on our arrival, which we made use of our first night. We highly recommend paying the $25 fee for the firewood set-up if you stay in the cooler months, it is well worth it! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home on the river. It is the perfect respite after a long day's venture to the amazing Sequoia Park! Thank you Laura for providing such a lovely vacation home!Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

So, if you're like me, at this point you've looked at a variety of rental homes on this site and others, maybe have even started a list or printed out a few listings so you can keep track and make comparisons. You've narrowed down your options but they all start to sound similar, with slight variations, and now you just wanna make a decision, send a deposit and be done with it. You don't know me, but I'm here to be your voice of reason and tell you: THIS IS THE PLACE. Stop looking, send your deposit, and be done with it. Seriously. We had a diverse group and ALL were beyond satisfied-- My father, a 66-year old retired air traffic controller visiting from VA: He enjoyed reading in the shade at the picnic table. My sister in law, a middle aged single Mom who rarely travels and has never been to CA, visiting from TX: She enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and catching up with her brother at the outside bar drinking Coronas. My husband, a 47-year old sales trainer who spends an avg of 250+ days a year in a hotel, so has a discerning eye for away-from-home places: He loved being the grillmaster with two(!) grills on the hugedeck, and playing his guitar while the sun set. Me, a 38-year old psychotherapist in desperate need of a vacation: I loved fighting my husband for grillmaster status and falling asleep to the sounds of the river. Our nephew, a 10-yr old charmer, also from TX: He learned to fly fish in the backyard from his uncle on this memorable trip. My two sons, 5 and 3, one cautious, the other daring: ran themselves out all over the property, and got greeted by a friendly neighborhood cat every morning that they still talk about. We ate every meal on the deck, alternating between tables (just cause we could), and even though going to Sequoia was the impetus for the trip (which is super close and was indeed magnificent) I actually enjoyed vacationing at the house more. Needless to say, the place is even better than advertised, with a nice balance of being nice, functional and well-equipped yet without feeling pretentious. Nature's obviously accessible, but wifi, a big TV and couches are too, so no one has to choose all or nothing. Just stay here. If I'm wrong and you don't like it, call me and I'll come stay in your place. I'll just lounge out back, your family or friends will hardly know I'm even there. ;)Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
