We recently visited the Sequoia Park and stayed in this lovely home in Three Rivers. We are a family of 4, with one 3yr old and one 6yr old. The children needless to say absolutely loved the home's backyard river, the fire pit for roasting smores and the large trees and smooth boulders scattered throughout the property. The adults loved the porch, where we relaxed for most of our stay, even in the sprinkling rain. One note, when we arrived the porch was full of leaves, thus a quick sweep before arrival would have been appreciated. The kitchen was very well stocked, we cooked three of our four nights with ease. The welcome basket and wine left by Laura was very much appreciated, as were the small gifts for the children! They were completely spoiled, so much so that it was hard dragging them away to visit the park, which was only a quick 15-20 min scenic drive away. The fireplaces inside the home were stocked with wood on our arrival, which we made use of our first night. We highly recommend paying the $25 fee for the firewood set-up if you stay in the cooler months, it is well worth it! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home on the river. It is the perfect respite after a long day's venture to the amazing Sequoia Park! Thank you Laura for providing such a lovely vacation home!

So, if you're like me, at this point you've looked at a variety of rental homes on this site and others, maybe have even started a list or printed out a few listings so you can keep track and make comparisons. You've narrowed down your options but they all start to sound similar, with slight variations, and now you just wanna make a decision, send a deposit and be done with it. You don't know me, but I'm here to be your voice of reason and tell you: THIS IS THE PLACE. Stop looking, send your deposit, and be done with it. Seriously. We had a diverse group and ALL were beyond satisfied-- My father, a 66-year old retired air traffic controller visiting from VA: He enjoyed reading in the shade at the picnic table. My sister in law, a middle aged single Mom who rarely travels and has never been to CA, visiting from TX: She enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and catching up with her brother at the outside bar drinking Coronas. My husband, a 47-year old sales trainer who spends an avg of 250+ days a year in a hotel, so has a discerning eye for away-from-home places: He loved being the grillmaster with two(!) grills on the hugedeck, and playing his guitar while the sun set. Me, a 38-year old psychotherapist in desperate need of a vacation: I loved fighting my husband for grillmaster status and falling asleep to the sounds of the river. Our nephew, a 10-yr old charmer, also from TX: He learned to fly fish in the backyard from his uncle on this memorable trip. My two sons, 5 and 3, one cautious, the other daring: ran themselves out all over the property, and got greeted by a friendly neighborhood cat every morning that they still talk about. We ate every meal on the deck, alternating between tables (just cause we could), and even though going to Sequoia was the impetus for the trip (which is super close and was indeed magnificent) I actually enjoyed vacationing at the house more. Needless to say, the place is even better than advertised, with a nice balance of being nice, functional and well-equipped yet without feeling pretentious. Nature's obviously accessible, but wifi, a big TV and couches are too, so no one has to choose all or nothing. Just stay here. If I'm wrong and you don't like it, call me and I'll come stay in your place. I'll just lounge out back, your family or friends will hardly know I'm even there. ;)

This is a GREAT place to spend time with family and friends. The house is extremely nice, well equipped, and spacious. The deck, river beach and the river itself are wonderful. We enjoyed the setting so much that we spent more time at the house than planned and didn't get to see as much of Sequoia National Park as we expected. The owners are the ideal hosts, timely, kind and informative in their responses and generous in how they supplied us during our stay. We will be back again and we highly recommend you consider it for your stay.

Laura, Thank you for a wonderful experience! I have rented vacation homes for the last 18 years due to special dietary requirements (food allergies) and this is by far the best experience I've had. Your home feels like 'home'. You are a wonderful hostess. I wish we lived in California - we'd be back for sure.

Setting and scenery is phenom,,,,,,,! Place is well stocked and equipped for MONDO relax mode. Gotta give em' props for the way cool outdoor stadium cooking complex! I could literally catch fish from the deck and have it on the Q all in one motion! Appreciated the fact that the pet friendly crib was extremely clean and well tended to. All the modern conveniences you could ask for and then some. Will be back as soon as we can!

What a great place to stay! The house was perfect for our groups New Year get together. Great kitchen for our "gourmet" meals, very comfortable rooms. We will have to come back in the summer and really get to use the deck and outdoor kitchen. Plus what a great backyard for our nosy labs. Three Rivers is such a cool little town with plenty to do. The boys took the road to Mineral King as far as we could and were amazed at the awesome views! Laura was a great host and the house was everything she said and more. Thanks again Laura!

I'm not sure what to say that has not been said already. Our group of 6 (3 couples) had a wonderful time. We loved the quiet setting by the river, the house amenities, the cute welcoming basket... As a bonus, a friendly dog from the neighbors visited daily :) The 1000+ sqft deck with the outdoor kitchen was an absolute hit with everyone. The pictures really don't do it justice. We cooked together every night and it was all so so nice. That's how fine memories are made. Thanks very much for your hospitality.

We (husband & 2 teenage daughters) stayed in this great rental house in Aug 2010. House was better than described. Very clean and well-maintained. Beds comfy, house spacious, great DVD collection. We especially appreciated the welcome basket which included pasta meal fixings and bottle of wine - we arrived late in the afternoon & it meant we didn't have to make a trip to grocery store until the morning. We also appreciated that the house was well-stocked with spices and condiments. When you travel by plane from afar (Texas, in our case), it's difficult to bring small things like pepper & salt, etc. We also really appreciated the Great Walks hiking book - it helped us narrow down which of the many hikes available we wanted to attempt. River was pretty low in August, but my daughters really enjoyed wading in it after a long day of hiking in Sequoia & I enjoyed lounging on deck with a cool drink watching them splash around.
Owner response:Thanks Ana! I appreciate your kind comments and am very happy your family felt welcome and enjoyed your stay in our home. I hope you have wonderful memories of your trip to the Sequoias. Thanks again.

We spent three days here. Both our tennage children voted it the best place we stayed on our holiday. Spent one entire day, just chilling on the patio, admiring the view and swimming/paddling in the river . My daughter said it was her favourite day. Recommend

Comment Text: Comment Text: I have been a travel agent for 19 years, however, even travel agents take vacations! This was a family vacation for my husband and me and his sister and brother in law. The sister and brother in law were visiting us from their home in Morelia, Mich., Mexico, and we wanted this to be special for them. It was very special! This house was the big hit of the vacation. It is in such a beautiful setting and has every convenience one can imagine or need. I definitely plan to return with my husband...and I am recommending it to all of my clients. Book this house without hesitation! You will be glad you did and the peace and quiet add to a totally awesome experience. Sonia Robledo

Peace and tranquility...... we've had a wonderful stay here by the river - butterflies, frogs, fish, dragonflies, quails, hummingbirds. The house and it's location surpassed any expectations and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The extra touches and welcoming gifts were very much appreciated. We've stayed in many vacation homes and this is definitely one of the very best. Thank You!

Our family of four rents vacation homes almost every summer. We've been pretty lucky with the homes we've rented over the years, and with the owners of the homes. But this home is by far our favorite. Not just because of the home's utility and lay-out, nor the proximity to the gentle south fork of the river, but also the extra touches provided by the owners, Laura and Eddie. The comments of the previous renters are not exaggerated. This is a wonderful spot to vacation and we felt nothing but hospitality from the owners. We will recommend this home to our closest friends and keep it secret from people we don't like so much.

A WONDERFUL VACATION HOME - Casa Del Rio is a dream come true! All the amenities offered made our family vacation an especially memorable event; The welcome basket was a great surprise only surpassed by the staples we found in the refrigerator upon arrival. The owners are easy to work with, very thoughtful and pay attention to detail. The house is well appointed with a thoroughly stocked gourmet kitchen, luxurious bedding & decor, a great family room with an incredible sound system for movies, a magnificent outdoor kitchen that made our BBQ dinners quick & easy. Most memorable is the quiet and private location with decks overlooking the Kaweah River and the sandy beach below. My family enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the rushing river; coffee at sunrise on the magnificent back deck; watching the wild birds, ducks, squirrels and visits from the neighbor’s dog; and the convenient location for our leisurely day trips to Sequoia National Park.Laura & Eddie have thought of everything a vacationer could want. The house is well stocked for a family with books, games & videos and just as wonderful for a romantic get-away. We could not have imagined a more perfect place for our family vacation. As noted by previous renters, this house is a First Class rental and we highly recommend it to others.Eight nights was barely enough time to enjoy all the house has to offer and we will be back again next year. Laura, We had a great time at your home. We brought bicycles and went for a ride, and we drove to Sequoia National Park. It started snowing so we had to turn around (chains required), but it was beautiful and fun seeing the snow. We absolutely enjoyed the beautiful deck and the river. Three Rivers is beautiful; so quiet and peaceful. Being from big cities, we really appreciated that. Your little extras were great: Qtips, bathrobes, eggs, spices, lavender and oatmeal body wash,........... The gift basket was really sweet. We enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, the patio heaters, and the fireplaces. Your place was clean and homey. Sharon was very nice too. It was so nice for my family to have a vacation together. Last year we had decided that instead of buying Christmas presents for each other, that we would use that money to rent a place and spend 4 days together after the holidays were over. My son and daughter-in-law got to spend time with their new niece. It was really nice for my daughter and her husband to get a little break while all of us happily spoiled my new granddaughter. In the evening, we all sat at your dining room table and played games. One game we played makes you laugh so hard........my heart was so happy and warm seeing everyone together and having fun. We hope to do this every year. Being all together for several days was a better gift than buying presents at a store. Your home was so nice and you were GREAT to work with. You made it so special for us. Thank you so much. Marylynne and family

I can't say enough about how comfortable and enjoyable this home and property is. I am the pickiest person regarding accomodations, and this place really felt like home away from home. So comfortable! The owners are wonderful, and their attention to detail is the best. My husband and our beagle truly enjoyed our stay here. You will not be disappointed.

This house was great. All the amenities for making a getaway just perfect. We especially loved the back deck with outdoor kitchen for preparing our meals, and eating under the stars. Beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our family of 5. It was also close to the park (about 20 minutes), where there is so much to see and do. The owners couldn't be nicer, and we would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a retreat in the mountains.

We are three couples and a cute rescue from Spain (the house's first international dog!). We also searched the Internet extensively for a weekend rental that was not too far from the park and offered the right amenities. We choose Casa del Rio for the view and the outdoor kitchen and this fully-equipped vacation home with the breathtaking view exceeded my expectations! From the cheery welcome basket, gourmet kitchen (both inside and out), dog bed and dishes, TV and high-speed internet, just about everything we could think of was generously provided. I can't rave enough about the outdoor kitchen with its duo grills and sink, night lighting and large deck overlooking the river. Our only regret was that our trip flew by so quickly. The rental abounds with personal touches that go that one extra step. Thanks for a magnificent retreat and many thanks to Laura and Ed for making arrangements such a breeze. We hope to visit again.

After surfing for a long time, we decided to try Casa Del Rio. This was the best decision we could have made. Laura made all the arrangements go smoothly. The personal touches for our stay were wonderful. There was a beautiful dog bed for our dog, a welcome basket, a stuffed animal for our daughter in her room. The deck is fantastic and the view relaxing. Our dog and daughter romped in the stream. This is truly a home away from home. Anything that you may forget is probably there. The kitchen, if you are a cooker, is first rate with a professional Jen-Air stove and quiet Bosch dishwasher. Close to Sequoia, it makes day trips a breeze. I cannot say enough about Casa Del Rio, only that if you are looking for a relaxing place to get away, this is it!

A few of the many wonderful things about this property are the great location, the fantastic deck w/ 2 BBQ's and the amenities, but I must say, the owners are extremely thoughtful, and they are intent on making sure your stay is 1st rate. They left little gifts for our children as well as a really nice food and wine basket. I liked the little touches like the night lights and the lights along the driveway. The owners have really put a lot of thought into making the home comfortable and enjoyable.

Wow!!! the river was awesome. We went as a group of 6 and loved it! Everything had been taken care of and available to borrow including a laminated hiking trail map! Another example of their attention to detail was the plastic covered step by step instructions on how to turn on the massive tv system! Not that we watched much tv- we spent most of our time hanging out on the fantastic deck overlooking the river. Thanks for a great weekend!

It's hard to rent a "home away from home", but Casa do Rio in Three Rivers really is like home. The owners are more than generous with their hospitality, from a welcome basket chock full of goodies, to a BBQ with great amenities, to a home decorated with your comfort and style in mind. We have stayed here twice in the Springtime, which is a lovely time to visit Three Rivers and the Sequoias, right when the blossoms are about to peak and when the snowmelt has left a trace of itself behind. To fall asleep to the rushing sound of the river and crickets sweetly chirping is a wonderful way to enjoy your vacation. But, now, I have given my secret away! Darn! You will *not* be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and clean home. The location is great, far from the main highway on a private road and very quiet. Nice plates and silverware that matched, real wine glasses, fully equipped kitchen, not your typical rental at all. We enjoyed a bottle of wine they had left for us along with other snacks and even fresh eggs for our breakfast, first class.

Early March my sisters and I stayed for an extended weekend. When were arrived we found a welcome basket including pasta and wine. We were so happy with the house it’s extremely nice. The kitchen and patio were fully stocked with whatever we needed, and the patio was a real treat. Our crew gathered there for coffee and cocktails, while soaking up the sun. The bedrooms are also really nice and had very comfortable linens.

My family and I just had a wonderful stay at this private home. We enjoyed all of the extra touches the owners have thought of, we really appreciated it. Even the little things like nice dishes, real wine glasses and good pots and pans, items most rentals tend to skimp on. They left us a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers for our first night. Great place, very private, perfect location for just hanging around or exploring. Highly recommended.
