Perfect location at Hali'i Kai!

My husband and I stayed at Hali'i Kai, unit 12D in March, 2012, and fell in love with this place! The condo itself is beautifully decorated, very clean, with wonderful views over the golf course to the ocean! We saw numerous spouting whales from the spacious Lanai. The beds, and all the furnishings were very comfortable, and we felt right at home. The proximity to the pool and Bar/Grill was perfect....It was great to simply step outside and walk a few paces to get there. The staff at the pool and Bar were super! The view overlooking the pool to the ocean at Sunset was fabulous. We walked along the Lava trail to the Hilton and on to A Bay daily for a little excercise and to see the Dolphins at the Hilton. I highly recommend this condo for a great place to stay while exploring the Big Island. Thank you Kathy!

My husband and I and our friends really enjoyed our week long stay in this condo. We found it to be even better than the listed description. The condo was spotless and very well equipped. We enjoyed cooking our own meals and eating at both the dining room table and the table out on the deck overlooking the ocean and golf course. After picking up our rental car at the airport we made a stop at the Costco and stocked up on food and drink that were fairly reasonable in price compared to the smaller grocery stores in the area. We took advantage of the golf discounts and the courses were great (when we got home we read an article in a golf magazine describing the ocean view from hole #7 located right outside the condo as the best place to spot whales). Hapuna beach is a short car ride away and a beautiful place to hang out for the day and boogie board and/or relax. Another activity we enjoyed was a drive around the island (all day trip) to check out the volcano and water falls. Ocean Club is just across the road and had great food and drink and the pools/hot tub there were nice. There is a walking trail that you can pick up close to the condo and it takes you all along the beach through and past the expansive Hilton complex where you can watch the dolphins play. There are also parts of the trail that are very quiet. Hmmmm........okay, I am ready to go back now.

We stayed in 12D right after Thanksgiving 2009 and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The vacation villa is amazing and had everything we needed. I would happily recommend this vacation home to anyone planning to stay on the big island, very quiet, tranquil and the view from the lanai is just amazing. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the big island.

After touring the entire island twice, this area is easily the most beautiful, this property exceeds all others and this condo is uniquely and perfectly located to enjoy everything! The views, the food, the comforts from home - you will not want to leave this place; we are already planning a return trip and hope it is soon. By looking at the availability calendar, I better pick a date quickly!!

On the Big Island Hali'i Kai is the place to be. After researching the web and talking with others we booked Hali'i Kai 12D for one week. All our expectations were surpassed. Mike and Kathy accounted for our every need- from the well equipped kitchen and beautiful furnishings to the cooler and beach accessories. The sunset views from the deck were superb. We especially enjoyed relaxing at the wonderfully quiet Ocean Club pool and strolling along the ocean trail to the Hilton. We were so smitten with the Big Island that we made plans to return next year. After visiting some of the other rentals in Mauna Lani as well as others in Hali'i Kai, including those in oceanfront buildings 13, 14, and 15, it was clear to us that 12D is the perfect place to be. We can't wait for next year!

Kathy and Mike, We love your condo at Hali'i Kai! This is a return visit for us and we can't think of a more lovely place to stay on the island! The sunsets from the lanai are breath taking. We loved staying in your condo over the Holiday, We were able to have our 2 adult children from Oregon and Washington DC and Mother from PA join us. It was a memorable holiday for us. WE enjoyed the pool area especially the ocean club lunches. Best food I had on the Island. Your Lanai had the best views of the sunsets and whale watching. WE will be back. Evelyn

The pictures on web site doesn't due justice to this condo unit. The food at the pool was excellent. 12D has one of the best locations in Hali'i Kai and Hali'i Kai has one of the best locations in Waikoloa. One thing to consider is that Waikoloa probably has the best intrastructure in West Hawaii.

Quite simply the nicest place I can imagine for a vacation. It was perfect for our family (children ages 10 & 13)--a wonderful pool, space to relax, great location. Doing yoga in the open air gym was a special treat. We enjoyed walking over to the Hilton and watching the dolphins there.

We were pleasantly surprised when we first entered 12D. The condo looked even better than the pictures we viewed on the VRBO site. The condo and complex are gorgeous. The pool area is much nicer than the pool at the Four Seasons where friends of ours stayed and for much less than they paid per night. This is a great place to relax and soak in the views. (Perhaps the Ocean Club should be open on Sunday when most people are off and close another day of the week.) This is a wonderful place for a peaceful holiday!

The villa is appointed beautifully not to mention the 3 LCD flat screen televisions! We also made full use of the private Ocean Club which was a very short walk with its open air exercise room and beautiful swimming pool and hot tub with river rock floor. You must try the Mango Mai Tai at the bar, ask Craig to make you one, and the Kalua Pig Wrap at the grill, it was simply delicious. It is a short drive to Waimea, Hawi and the Kona airport and has the convenience of the King’s Shops and soon to open Queen’s Shops. Lastly we love the beaches nearby, the Hapuna State Beach park and Mauna Kea Beach hotel beach. We are definitely going to stay here again!David & Anita

Dear Kathy and Mike, Mahalo for letting us stay at your beautiful vacation home. Perfect views (golf, waters and mountains); clean, and nicely decorated/coordinated interiors - truly made us feel at home. The food in the area was excellent. And for me, a respite from the kitchen to try other chefs' cooking. We enjoyed the amenities at Hali'i' Kai (pool and scenic fitness center), hiking by the waters, golf, and the picturesque Hawaiian sunset. My family had so much fun, even Hurricane Flossie, the earthquake, and the tsunami cooperated so as not to spoil it. Thanks again,

THIS WAS MY FIRST FAMILY VACATION WITH MY WIFE AND 4YR OLD DAUGHTER. I CAN SAY WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT HALI'I KAI OCEAN VILLA WAS THE BEST VACATION THAT I HAVE EVER HAD. WE FELT LIKE WE WERE IN HEAVEN. THE SUNSET VIEWS WERE UNBELIEVABLE AND THE AMMENTIES WERE GREAT. THEY HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. WE ATE BREAKFAST ON THE LANAI EVERY MORNING TO WATCH THE SUNRISE AND COOKED DINNER MOST OF THE TIME WE WERE THERE AND ATE ON THE LANAI TO WATCH THE SUNSETS. WE WORKED OUT EVERYDAY, WHO WOULDNT WORK OUT WHEN YOU ARE STEPS AWAY FROM THE OCEAN IN THE WORKOUT ROOM. MY DAUGHTER LOVED THE UNCROWDED POOL AREA FOR TODDLERS AND CHILDREN. THERE ARE STATE OF THE ART LCD TV'S IN ALL OF THE ROOMS WITH CABLE TV. THE STAFF AT HALI'I KAI WERE ALSO VERY HELPFUL AND TOLD US ABOUT THE GREAT LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND PLACES TO SEE.THERE IS CONSTRUCTION GOING ON IN THE AREA BUT NEVER HEARD ANY OF IT WHILE IN THE CONDO OR EVEN DRIVING BY IT.SO THAT WAS NOT REALLY AN ISSUE AT ALL. MY FAMILY WAS ON A TIGHT BUDGET BUT WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK DUE TO THE FACT IT WAS A GREAT VALUE AND THE CONDO COMPLEX WAS IMMACULATE. IT WAS VACATION THAT WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

This was a fantastic vacation for our family!!! We loved the condo, the complex, the pool, the exercise facility, the views from the lanai and the amazing sunsets. There is even the option of eating at the pool area with the members-only restaurant. They were very helpful and kept the pool area spotless every day. We stayed in Halii Kai 12D in early June. While other parts of the island (Hilo, Kona, Wailea, etc.) had rain, we had no rain and perfect weather for 8 days. We ate in most evenings and found everything we needed to cook and eat - even a blender for our "umbrella drinks". Would definitely stay here again - 2 adults and 4 children (ages 21-12). The kids especially liked the 1000+ channels of cable tv, the large screen LCDs in both bedrooms & living area, the exercise area overlooking the ocean and the quiet pool. We swam every day, worked out every day and had as much sun as we could handle. I'm sold on Waikoloa and the big island - less developed than Oahu and Maui. One comment - since these units are brand new (as of June 2007), there is still lots of construction going on in the complex. It is not bothersome, but wanted to point out that the complex is only about 1/2 completed. Come to Halii Kai, you will love it!

Fortunately, our vacation villa is located in the ocean front and completed portion of Hali'i Kai. You will not be bothered by construction noise, sights or activity from our unit or while enjoying the Ocean Club.

Absolutely Gorgeous...your condo is in the best location overlooking the best ocean vu, golfcourse vu, fireworks display, & outrageous sunsets. The decor was impeccable w/plasma TV's & full kitchen amenities. We loved the most luxurious pool w/the best Chef from Four Seasons for lunch! We've travelled around the world, & we haven't been this impressed since Bali! Aloha & Mahalo for your incredible kindness!
