Both are above an old vaulted garage with a washing machine and parking for up to 4 cars and they open onto a charming terrace. A flight of stone steps leads from the front door up to the terrace and to the house and studio.
The house "Picasso" has a large living/dining/kitchen with sofa bed in the living area. There is an old spiral staircase leading to 2 bedrooms with double beds and a bathroom with shower, wash basin, and water closet.
"Basquiat" is a studio with a sofa bed, kitchen and dining area with a separate bathroom with shower, wash basin, and water closet.
Both units are fully equipped with linen's and kitchen equipment as well as hairdryer, coffee maker, toaster, TV and radio. All rooms have ceiling fans and heaters. There are many public phone booths around the town which will work with a phone card and a nearby internet café. If you have a "sim" card France Orange works in the town. The rates include all utilities.
Experience the charm of French village life in this medieval wine maker’s house in a narrow, quiet street in the town of Montagnac, population 3,000. A short walk to the esplanade and you have everything you need: Village shops, bank, a wine cave, cafes and bars, and on the edge of town the largest wine cooperative in France. If you are visiting without a car everything you need is at hand, and there is a good bus service to surrounding areas.
Montagnac is a 3 minute drive from the historic town of Pezenas, with its artisans, antique dealers and many restaurants. Fifteen minutes to the south brings you to wonderful Mediterranean beaches and north are the l’Herault mountains with grottos, rivers and scenic drives. To the west is Carcasson and the Cathar fortresses and eventually Spain. In the east explore Provence with all its history, and on to the Riviera. There are many chateaus in the area where you can taste and enjoy the Languedoc wines. Outdoor markets abound in Montagnac and the surrounding villages.
The nearest airport and train station are at Montpellier. You can also fly into Marseille, Toulouse and Perpignan or fly to Paris and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the Massif Central as you drive south, finally crossing the magnificent Millau Bridge as you near your destination.
