SERENITY..YOU WILL LOVE THIS CABIN IN THE WOODS!
ENJOY FOREST VIEWS IN FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE OR OUT ON THE BIG DECK.

SERENITY CABIN is just a 2 hour drive from San Diego, Orange County or Los Angeles, and less than an hour drive to Palm Springs. Located in Idyllwild, next to the San Bernardino National Forest, and at over 6000 foot elevation, SERENITY CABIN is in a quiet setting just half a mile to wilderness hiking and challenging rock climbing trails, and about a mile to Idyllwild town center.

SERENITY CABIN has welcomed guests back year after year. Warm and cozy enough for 1 or 2, yet roomy enough for up to 6 people, SERENITY is a tastefully decorated vintage 1961 cabin. Enjoy our knotty pine interior and huge wood-burning fireplace. You will arrive for your vacation with everything ready for you, including fresh linens and towels and a fully stocked kitchen. Relaxation mode sets in almost immediately. Our forced-air heater keeps all the rooms warm and cozy on those chilly nights.

SERENITY has two large bedrooms (1 queen; 2 twin beds), plus a queen sofa bed and 1 Bath (with tub/shower). At nearly 1000 sq ft, it is roomy, yet cosy. There's a big deck with a BBQ, and a large back yard surrounded by HUGE, ancient pines, oaks, and cedar trees. A hammock swings between the trees. The kids will enjoy sledding out back in the winter. Feed the birds and squirrels. Listen to the coyotes and owls at night, and see more stars than you ever have before. Gorgeous and relaxing!

The views from SERENITY CABIN will remind you of Yosemite National Park. Enjoy Lily Rock and Suicide Rock from the front of the cabin and Suicide Rock from the huge back deck. Whimsical tree carvings of a bear and raccoons are out back. The big deck is great for just sitting and birdwatching (over 30 species seen over one weekend!).

SERENITY is cosy and warm in the winter, with cool breezes in the summer. See gorgeous autumn colors, or take photos of the springtime wildflowers. A very clean, comfy cabin for a romantic get-away, holiday or family gathering.

SERENITY CABIN is near the Idyllwild Arts campus, with weekly concerts, plays, lectures and art. Great restaurants, shops, galleries, live music and a movie theatre in town. Hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing all within a short distance. Two nearby lakes for fishing. Horseback riding available at the nearby Little Yellow Ranch. Fantastic birdwatching, right from the deck. 1/2 mile to Humber Park trailheads for hiking and climbing. Less than 1 mile to Idyllwild town. Activities at 1000 Trails in Pine Cove (~5 miles north of town), for a $10 day-use fee: swimming pool, kids' playground, horses for rent. Idyllwild town has fun festivals including a 4th of July parade, the Lemon Lily Festival and others.

Serenity Cabin: a Lovely Getaway in the Forest

Year Purchased: 2001

Why the Owner Chose Idyllwild

We love the mountains and the trees. SERENITY CABIN is close to hiking trails, shops, good restaurants and even a movie theatre. Kathy especially enjoys birding from the deck and trails (over 30 species seen in just one weekend off the back deck!). The wildlife here is amazing - coyotes, racoons, bobcats, deer, quail, white-headed woodpeckers...just to name a few, seen right from the cabin. Plus, this location fills us with positive energy.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Peace, serenity and great bird watching!
We love the Jazz Festival at Idyllwild Arts in August, and the Art and Wine Tasting Walk in town in October. Family BBQ's out on deck are always a treat.
The views from our SERENITY CABIN remind us of Yosemite Valley, and fills us with joy and wonder. The stars at night are amazing.
Plus, the scent of the pines and cedars smells so good!

A
Strawberry Creek

A seasonal creek, from winter until June or July. You can hear the creek from our back deck at Serenity Cabin. Just a short walk to view the creek. Great bird-watching.

B
Humber Park Trailheads

Start of the San Bernardino Wilderness Area: Ernie Maxwell Nature Trail (1.5 miles, easy), hikes to Taquitz Rock and Suicide Rock for climbing, longer strenuous hikes to the top of Mount San Jacinto.

Owner's Map of Idyllwild

HI! We are Fred and Kathy, the owners of SERENITY CABIN in Idyllwild, CA. We went to Idyllwild often for short get-aways, often combined with a trip to Palm Springs. Finally, just after 9-11-01, an elderly lady stopped by the Idyllwild real estate office with her keys, and we took a look at her cabin that very day and made her an offer. It was like stepping back into a 1950s and 1960s cabin, with warm, pristine woodwork, and we loved it! Since then, we have enjoyed SERENITY CABIN over its many seasons, and never get tired of the views and wildlife.

Came up for the weekend and absolutely loved our Serenity experience. The blue jays and squirrels kept us company. We enjoyed town, our quiet spiritual reading time, our walks, and our movies. Ya, no football this trip. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this precious getaway treasure.

Serenity Cabin is a blessing. Thank you for sharing. It was our 5th time in this wonderful place. It was also our first wedding anniversary. What a place to spend the end of the best year of my Life!

Of the many places we've stayed in Idyllwild, this is the best. My husband and I love hiking and we love being so close to Humber Park and the trails. Thanks for sharing your cabin.

We came to So. Calif. to attend a Hemet wedding and chose Idyllwild as our "base." So glad we did! My 93 year old mother was with us and adored the cabin and the area.

Nice to be back in the solitude of Idyllwild and a relaxing long weekend in such a cozy cabin. Even got to Idyllwild Park to see the pictographs and mortar holes.

My husband and I rented the Serenity cabin for a 4 day weekend. The cabin was a single level 2 bedroom accomodation. My husband is legally blind and the layout of the cabin made it very easy for him to navigate. Beyond that, the cabin was very comfortably furnished with quaint decor and lots of attention to detail. Two large sculptures in the backyard added to the woodsy ambiance. The kitchen was well equipted. The Quiet Creek crew made sure it was exceptionally clean before our visit. Actually, this was our third cabin rental from Quiet Creek and all of our experiences with them have been very positive.

Hi Kathy, I've been meaning to email you all week but got so busy back here in San Diego-wish we were still relaxing at Serenity Cabin! I wanted to send you a personal note as well. We had a wonderful time in Idyllwild. You cabin was perfect for us. After talking with Jim before we left SD, he recommended it as the best for our family and he was absolutely right. Our kids are 3 and 5 and had been hoping for snow all week before we left and were delighted with the beautiful snow storm we had. They played and played for hours. I couldn't get them inside all day and it was so hard to leave on Sunday. We used the sleds and built snowmen in the back yard. This was their first time in a real snow storm and they are still talking about it. They made good use of the kids books in the cabin and our son was so excited you had the 3rd Harry Potter to watch-he's only seen the first 2 and has been begging us for the next one. My 3rd child(aka husband) had so much fun as well. He used to spend summers at the music camp and was thrilled to play in the snow-so much so he cracked the toboggan. Sorry! :( We bought a new one and left it in the back so the next guests could have as much fun as we did. Well, we definitely did appreciate Serenity Cabin. Everything we needed was there! Thank you again. I took lots of pictures of your cabin in the snow and the surrounding area if you want any of them for advertising, etc. I will send you a link if you want them. I had to send you just one of a couple happy faces in front of your cabin. Thank you again-we hope to be back soon!

Thank you for providing such wonderful accomodations and for responding so quickly to the broken heater. We enjoyed our stay despite the unexpected snow storm and subsequent icy roads which kept us from going into town. Thankfully, your cabin is stocked with games, movies and firewood!

We loved your decor. The little one loved the carved bear and racoons outside, and all the fun squirrels. A very cozy cabin, with everything we needed. We will come back to enjoy another season.
