Location: Seaside, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA (10-15 Min Walk to the Turnaround and 2 Min Walk to Golf) View Map
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.25 Baths (Sleeps 12)
Keywords: House; oceanfront; unobstructed views; very comfortable; XM Satellite throughout the house and outside on the deck. Complete remodel finished in 2011.
Our home sits right on the Promenade in Seaside Oregon and has unobstructed panoramic views of the ocean out five large picture windows on the front of the house. Enjoy whale watching, the surfers and the vacationers walking on the Prom. The deck in the front makes it very enjoyable to sit and sunbath or read while enjoying XM Satellite radio (170 channels to choose from) and the beautiful ocean views.
The house has been totally remodeled with granite and marble counter tops throughout, tiled floors in some areas and hardwoods in others. The remodeling of the bathrooms even includes heated floors. We did however maintain the cozy warm feeling that a warm fireplace at the beach brings, especially when it's stormy.
The reading room on the second floor is especially enjoyable for those that like to read and we also provide WIFI service to those lap top dedicated workers. The ocean views sure help to clear the mind and make working or reading even more enjoyable.
In the basement we have a 50" HDTV with cable and a nice warm gas fireplace so the sports enthusiasts can enjoy their games in a retro-bar and then take a nap. It's really a "Man Cave", as my wife calls it. And there are dvd and/or vhs players on every floor so you can watch movies. There is also XM Satellite music upstairs and on the main floor.
The kitchen, which was remodeled in May 2009, has seating at the table for at least 10-12 for those family reunions or larger groups. We also provide a high chair for the little ones. I know we've built some wonderful memories while sitting and eating.
In January 2012 we replaced the TV in the main living room with a 37" HD flat screen and is set-up for watching movies as well. In addition we had the driveway and parking area resurfaced this fall so there is very little left we could improve.
In closing we want to point out that from June 15th until September 15th, we only rent by the week from Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the year we have a two night minimum, except three day weekends where the minimum is three nights.

Map & Owner's Profile
A Prom House in Seaside; Panoramic Ocean View; 4BR+ and 2.3 BA
Year Purchased: 2003
Why the Owner Chose Seaside
Unlike many coastal towns that are limited in things to do, Seaside has many shops, restaurants, theater, aquatic center, bike rentals, etc. They also offer many attractions for families like the bumper cars, arcade, and numerous events like the car shows, basketball tournaments and many, many more things to do and see.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The beautiful ocean views are breath taking. The quiet, warm feeling of the house makes you feel right at home the minute you walk in. We have one Canadian family that comes back every year for ten days in late September "To see what you've done to our summer home!" This will be there ninth year. Build your family memories at The Prom House.
Seaside Golf Course. We call it the pasture golf course as it is really rough.
Owner's Map of Seaside
My wife Marcie and I have two children. Our daughter, Ashton is eight and her brother Conner is ten. We live in Portland where we own a mailing house. We enjoy dancing, movies, the outdoors, our church and our families. We have two cats, Larry and Jacques. We bring them with us when we come to Seaside. We wish we had more time to enjoy our home, but are busy, so we thought we would open it up to other families so they can build memories like we have. Please write a review after your stay so others can enjoy your thoughts.

We just returned from a 3 night off season stay at the Prom House. My wife and I hosted our son and daughter along with their spouses and toddlers. My sister was also able to join us for the gathering. Some comments prior to turning in the first night; Daughter says "This house is The Bomb." I think that was good!! Wife says "I am just so impressed" Son says "we are so looking forward to this new way of staying at the beach." It did surpass expectations and we look forward to our next stay.
Owner response:Bill, Thank you for your wonderful review. We're so glad you had a great vacation. I think you're right when the younger people say it's The Bomb means it's good. I enjoy renting a house versus a hotel because you make some wonderful memories and the ability to prepare your own food saves lots of money. I hope you choose to stay with us again next year. Jerry

We just stayed at that house during Memorial Day weekend in May 2011 for five days/four nights. Our friends and families really enjoyed ourselves as they raved about the house, as there were five families total with 10 adults and 6 kids, and there were plenty room for all of us. We made breakfast, lunch, and dinners every single day as it saved us money rather than going to the restaurants daily. We did bonfire just right front of the house. We will definitely stay at this house again. Thank you, Jerry! -Alethea
Owner response:Alethea,Thank you for your kind remarks. I'm sure other groups will appreciate your endorsement and hopefully make reservations early as we have booked out totally for the past eight summers and are already taking reservations for next year (2012). I hope to hear from you again soon and have a wonderful summer. Jerry

Spring Break at the Prom House

We just got back from a week stay at the Prom House. We had 16 family members stay the week and the Prom House was awesome. Waking up in the morning and having breakfast over an ocean view is a great way to start the day. Being able to spread out on three floors makes it easy to have your own space and time alone without everyone stepping all over each other. You can also gather everyone downstairs to watch the NCAA tournament on the 50" flat screen as a family. There is definitely a wow factor and everything they promised us came true.
Owner response:Dana, Thank you for your review. We try very hard to make each groups stay a very positive one. I think that's why we have so many repeat guests. I want to thank you for submitting a review as you are the first guest I have suggested to do so. Hopefully others will follow and they will all be as positive as yours. We hope to hear from you again soon. Have a nice Spring and Summer. Jerry

We have enjoyed vacationing at the house for the last seven years. Over the years we have appreciated the upgrades and updates that have taken place to make this a superb family vacation house. When our three and five year old see pictures of the house they refer to it as "our" Seaside house. We've made many fond memories here and look forward to our time there every year.

We provide a quest book at the house that has many wonderful stories of peoples visits. Since we have numerous repeat summer renters, I think it must be well worth the cost. We hope your family builds great memories here too.
