Our home is available for a long term lease September 2009 or monthly. This very special beachfront home was designed and built in 1999 by the nationally published design/build team of Lani Loeks and Chris Clemens. Exquisitely handcrafted as a Victorian era cottage with extensive detailing, it is located on a wide stretch of white sandy beach (rare for the Santa Barbara area) in Carpinteria, California.
*It is available for the last 2 weeks of June as well as MONTHLY July and August, or for a 9 to 12 month lease beginning September 2009.
This home was featured in Coastal Living July/August 2003 and is one of the few ideal and rare locations in the Santa Barbara area that you can walk directly out onto beach sand and also easily walk to restaurants, shops, and the farmers market! Locals often describe this home as "the nicest house on the entire beach". While this beach is fun and festive in the summer you will find it quiet and peaceful during the other seasons. Of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas bring some holiday visitors and families....
Wake to watch the dolphins swim by while dining in the bay window, then play in the surf or kayak in the ocean. Walk down the beach to explore the tide pools and look for shells and starfish. Meander over to the estuary and look for cranes and heron. (And if you forget your surfboard you can rent one close by.)
Tired? Take a nap in the hammock. Enjoy quiet evenings, meals and conversations or a good book on one of the two furnished,private decks above the sand on the 'World's Safest Beach'. Why the Owner Chose Carpinteria
This beach is the most beautiful wide, sandy beach in the Santa Barbara area. Most of the year you can surf/kayak right in front of the house. Also, except for the 2 1/2 months in the summer this very special beach has on most days just a handful of people and feels very peaceful.
The Unique Benefits of this Beach House
There is a summer camp run by the City of Carpinteria just 4 blocks away. My daughter attended this camp and loved it! Really nice staff of lifeguards who also have kayaks for rent. Half or full day.
