This was our third visit and we love this unit because of the convenient location within the building. It is right next to the computer/workout room and right across from the cafe. It is just far enough from the pool to be very quite. It is located on the second floor so that you do not have to constantly need to use the elevator although there are plenty ( 5 in all). The staff is always friendly and Michelle is always helpful. When my friend need a last minute alteration on a dress for a function, Michelle recommended someone that helped us immediately. It is nice to deal with an owner that is local and knows the area. The Monday night buffet at the Wine Cellar and Crab legs at the R bar are a must. We plan to make this an annual stop and recommend you do also.

Very Clean

We arrived late and loved just using the code to the door to let ourselves in. We found this unit to be very clean and we had a great time. The beach was beautiful and loved the clear blue water. We could walk to John's pass and enjoyed the shops and restaurants. Several restaurants were within walking distance and we especially enjoyed Sloppy Joe's. The food was great at the onsite cafe and the bartenders were very friendly at the beach bar. On the weekends we enjoyed live music at the beach bar and the pool was very refreshing. It was a great value for such beautiful surroundings. The kids had a great time and my wife enjoyed the work out and computer room next store. Really enjoyed our stay.

Had a Fantastic Time. It was my sister's wedding and the resort was beautiful. My sister had a sunset wedding on the beach. The staff couldn't of been more pleasant. The condo was very clean and Michelle (the owner) couldn't of been more helpful. Loved the area with all the beach bars, shops and restaurants. I would recommend this unit to anyone that wants a relaxing stay on a beautiful beach!! Loved it.

This was a last minute booking and I was very pleased when upon calling Michelle she stated that she had just had a cancellation and could accommodate my family. This is a wonderful place for kids and adults. The unit was very clean and there were Tv"s in every room. The beds were really comfortable and I loved having the cafe right next door. There was a children's pool for my daughter and a big pool for older children and adults. Be sure to order a rum runner from Nick at the Beach Bar, they were awesome. We already booked with Michelle again for next March. Can't wait to return

BEWARE!!!

I am very saddened to have to give a poor review but feel it very necessary to comment. We arrived Thursday 9/8/11 to a disgustingly dirty place. I was very upset but more than hopeful and happily surprised when Michelle answered immediately upon calling her even though it was 7PM at night. She was very nice at first and said she would call the cleaning company and get right on top of this. After an hour of back and forth calls with Michelle we got no where except for her asking us to clean the place ourself and she would have a cleaning company over in the morning. There wasn't any cleaning stuff in the place and I thought it was quite gross that she wanted us to strip dirty sheets from another renter off of the beds and clean them ourselves?? She stated there was another set of clean sheets there but there was not. I still thought even if there were a second set it was quite shocking she would even ask this of us. She then stated that we should just go get another place for the night and return when the place was clean. Again I couldn't believe this. I also found out that she was right in Tampa and I have to say if this was my place I personally would have been over immediately to rectify the situation. I did not come on vacation to clean up after strangers! I told her that if we had to be displaced for the night we might as well just stay there for the remainder of the time. I was not interested in returning somewhere that had grossed me out and had no trust that it would be clean in the morning anyhow. That's like walking into a dirty restaraunt and being asked to return the next day. I 'lost my appetite" and not interested in placing my head on someone else's dirty pillows. Had she been able to scrub the place that evening I would have been flexible. She offered to credit us for the night but we still had to go and spend money elsewhere so how was that of benefit to us? We went to the hotel office and explained what happened. Sunset Vistas gave us the same exact room, CLEAN with a better view and even less expensive. WHY would we come back to Michelle's place when she wasn't even willing to help us that evening and had the audacity to ask us to clean it ourselves and sleep in a place that still had someone else's clothing in the drawers?? I continued to ask her nicely to please refund our money and she absolutely refused stating only for one night's rate. We had to call our credit card company and dispute the charge- pathetic!!

Owner response:The previous review was submitted by a guest that never stayed in my unit. They wanted to cancel 2 days before check in and it is clearly stated in my condo letter that there are no cancellations 30 days prior to arrival. It is unbelievable what some people will fabricate to help in a credit card dispute.

Great for the Entire Family!

Very Clean and Well Maintained. Had a little hesitancy booking based on the review "renters beware". Upon speaking with the owner I felt that if there were any issues they would be immediately rectified. The owner was very helpful in recommending restaurants and area attractions and was extremely helpful when my wife called several times with questions. We had a fantastic time with my wife and our two daughters who are 2 and 6. They loved the children's pool with fountains and the owner provided a pack and play for my 2 year old daughter. This unit is right across from the cafe and was very convenient when we didn't feel like cooking. This unit was well maintained and you could tell the owner took pride in the upkeep. The chairs in the unit were a nice touch. We plan to return next year.

Awesome Unit with Great Amenities

Upon reading the last review, I felt I had to respond as I arrived right after the previous guest. I can only say that sometimes you can't please everyone. Upon arrival, I found the unit to be very clean. The carpet was not brand new, but extremely clean. The sheets and towels look to be brand new. We loved the convenience of having beach chairs and beach towels in the unit so we didn't have to rent them. The location of the unit was convenient to the fitness center and computer room and very close to the intimate cafe. My kids also loved the ice cream shop right next door. We loved the pool and jaquzzi and will definitely come back again. We are planning another trip in October. The owner was very accomodating and went out of her way to make our stay pleasureable.

Renters Beware

Four of us stayed at Sunset Vistas , Treasure Island Fla from March 19-25, 2011. This particular unit is privately owned and rented by the owner. Great beach with umbrella and lounge rentals, location is ideal, within walking distance of John’s Pass and downtown Treasure Island with many restaurants and shops. Unit also has assigned private parking which was convenient. Although located towards rear of the building you can see the beach if you look from the Balcony. The exercise room and computer center is directly next door and noise was not an issue for us as it has been for one other reviewer I have found. The unit is efficiently layed out with two bedrooms, one front, the best and one to the rear. Each has a bathroom but the rear is not “en suite”. That said this is a TIRED, TIRED unit that lacks supervision and maintenance. Broken blinds, spotted rugs, spotted furniture, old beat up beach chairs, old style TV’s. The owner has stated in writing that she personally supervised a 3 person cleaning crew before our arrival and also had the rugs “professionally” cleaned one day prior to our arrival. In addition to the spotted rugs already mentioned we found a sink half full of soapy water, a microwave with grease and food particles on the inside and when we placed our hands on the kitchen counters crumbs and other particles stuck to them. Dirty bathroom mat was thrown under the sink and we used towels on the floor all week. The thermostat was blinking “replace batteries” and some of the remotes did not have batteries in them, one useless remote did not match the TV in the rear bedroom. The vacuum was so full it was inefficient. Our solution was paper plates, plastic utensils, sheets on the furniture. We were thankful for the washer and dryer in the unit so we could rewash all blankets, sheets and towels before using them. We also suspect that the entry code for the unit never changes since I have seen another review for “the suite next to the Gym” that had uninvited teenage guests in the middle of the night. We used our own alarm that never went off. Great week with disappointing accommodations. The owners response to our issues was denial that they existed. This review is intended for this specific unit and in no way should reflect on the majority of condos rented by other owners, which we hear are very nicely maintained.

Owner response:As owner of this unit I was very upset by the dissatisfied renters review. I have owned this unit for 5 years and have never had a renter that I could not make satisfied. I offered to have the unit re-cleaned by a different cleaning company and also offered to move the guest to a different unit. There was nothing I could do to make these customers happy. The carpets had been cleaned one day prior to arrival and new white sheets made of 600 thread count and new white towels had also been purchased at the same time. I have replaced the cleaning company and batteries are now always left in the unit in case they are needed for remotes, etc. The code to the door is always changed after each guest and always has been. The beach chairs that I leave in the unit may not always look brand new because of the salt at the beach but other units do not even provide them and I feel it is a nice option instead of always having to rent them. The vacuum bag has been changed and there are always spares in the closet. I am very sorry the last renters were not happy but I will just say that I have not had one other bad review in five years. I take great pride in my unit and will go out of my way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. Thank you
