Thank you for inquiring about our unique, oceanfront, luxury home on Taveuni, the Garden Island of Fiji. For several years, I have traveled extensively throughout Asia and the South Pacific searching for that very special destination and I finally found it.

Located on Taveuni, considered to be the most beautiful of all the Fiji Islands, is Vale Cadra Ni Vula (which means "House of the Rising Moon" in Fijian and pronounced va-lay thandra nee vula), a modern and beautifully crafted luxury vacation rental home. The house consists of 3 hexagon-shaped rooms all with 20-foot high ceilings and fixed-glass dome tops. The large sitting room/kitchen separates the two master suites, with a large, private veranda connecting all three sections and overlooking the ocean. All rooms throughout the house have ceiling fans to keep you cool.

The house is constructed of local indigenous woods and the kitchen and baths are accented with ceramic tile imported from Italy. Both bathrooms have a large, step-down, green slate shower, which maintains the natural environment - or you can shower outdoors in our semi-circle rock shower while looking at the blue ocean or gazing at the star filled night sky.

Enjoy the breathtaking view off our twenty by fifty foot deck that is simply fantastic. It gives you a panoramic view of the ocean as well as the islands in the distance. We left all the palm trees so you can sit back and listen to the sound of the palm fronds rustling! Prepare your food in our gourmet kitchen or use the outdoor gas barbeque. If you're not in the mood to cook, our caretaker is an excellent cook and will be happy to prepare all your meals. In the evening, you'll see the reason the house is so named as the moon rises over the glistening water.

One point I would like to convey is this is not an average rental property - it is our own private home and has all of the luxury and comforts we personally wanted in it. It is beautifully furnished and contains artwork from around the world. We provide you with all the amenities of home including a great stereo with CD player - so bring your favorite music. Furthermore, there are no secondary rental accommodations such as guest cottages on the property. When you rent the property - you rent the entire property so your privacy is guaranteed!

The people of Fiji are the friendliest in the world. Our caretakers will be happy to arrange anything you need - from fishing and diving trips to cooking any or all of your meals.

All too many times, I have inquired about a vacation rental ad that boasted of "superb this" and "breathtaking that" only to find neither upon my arrival. Or the "ocean front" home wasn't even on the water.

Our 400 ft. white sand beach and beautiful blue water provide one of the most beautiful backdrops anywhere!!! Nearby, the amazing coral reef provides some of the best swimming and snorkeling in the world - and it's right outside your door!

Since there is a full-time staff, we can accommodate any request that you may have from meal preparation to island excursions and boating trips. You will also be met at the local airfield upon your arrival and your luggage will be taken to the house. Your housekeeping and laundry will also be done, so you don't need to pack too much in the way of clothing.

There are plenty of other activities to enjoy on Taveuni - horseback riding, mountain biking, paddle boats, snorkeling and world-class diving. Bouma Waterfalls is about a 30-minute taxi ride from the house - they shouldn't be missed! Just ask our caretaker to arrange any of these outings for you.


If your idea of a perfect vacation is Club Med or Waikiki Beach then this house is NOT for you. However, if you enjoy getting away from it all - to a beautiful, tropical, un-crowded and peaceful place - where you can fish, swim, snorkel, dive, kayak, hike through rainforests and waterfalls, or just have a drink and do nothing at all - and all at your own pace - then Taveuni is for you.
