Located 6 miles east of Portland’s historic waterfront and Old Port and just 2 hours north of Boston is Long Island, Maine. This fantastic island includes beautiful beaches, quiet coves, tide pools, harbors, country lanes, forest trails and the cool sea breezes one would expect to find on an ocean island. Long Island is a year-round fishing community offering community events, sailboat races, good fishing, tennis, a general store, restaurant and outdoor activities.
In addition, frequent summer boat service (5am to 9pm) plus water taxi availability makes Long Island a perfect location base which allows you easy day trip to Southern Maine and its many attractions like LLBean, or downtown Portland and its famous restored Old Port Exchange with scores of shops, restaurants and more urban entertainment.
