I almost don't want to write this review as I want to keep the secret of this lovely apartment all to myself. BUT, the owners deserve the acknowledgement of running such a perfectly lovely and comfortable unit for guests to enjoy. The apartment is perfect for two individuals, can easily fit 3 but to make it 4 the family or friends would have to be very close and/or young children. For 2-3 the unit is perfect! The location is easy to get to, close for anyone with U of W business and for those enjoying the downtown, it is an easy 20 min drive. I have never had so much attention to detail in a unit and feel as if the owners were preparing for old friends or family to stay. A great and easy driveway AND heated floors put this unit over the top for me. Thanks Peggy for all the ease and comfort of being at home!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your very thoughtful review! We feel so fortunate to have wonderful guests like you. We take great pleasure in helping to make our guests' time in Seattle comfortable and beyond their expectations. We hope to see you the next time you visit Seattle. Thanks again for choosing our apartment! Peggy

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely studio. The owners have thought of everything to make a guest feel at home while visiting Seattle. Complete and updated kitchen (including stove and dishwasher) and updated bathroom. The studio is immaculate and well-designed and includes a W/D. The bed was very comfortable and the surrounding area was very quiet. The studio is situated in a lovely neighborhood with wide streets, which made walking our dogs easy. Parking was very convenient on our own driveway. The studio has a sweet little patio just outside which makes outdoor dining very easy. Grocery stores and shopping were convenient and close by. The owner graciously supplied us with several wonderful restaurant recommendations and pointed us to a nearby dog park. We hope to return soon for another wonderful stay. :)
Owner response:Thank you for your very complimentary review! I enjoyed meeting and talking with you about some of our wonderful Seattle restaurants which I'm glad you sampled. Peggy

This was our first visit to Seattle and we couldn't have picked a better apartment to stay in. It is comfortable, very clean, well resourced and set in a beautiful neighbourhood. With it's fantastic wall of windows natural light floods into this apartment. The fridge is stocked with breakfast goodies and there is a cupboard of tinned and packet food stuffs if needed. There is a very useful map and list of local amenities left as well. It has very good bus links to Seattle Centre and downtown for those who don't drive and is within walking distance of a lovely restaurant and bakery. The nearest supermarket is a longer walk but if you are driving this isn't important :) From here we were at Seattle Centre in around 30/40 minutes by bus where we were able to see the Space Needle, the EMP/Sci-Fi Museum, Ride the Duck, or travel on to visit Pike Place Market, go shopping at the Westlake Centre or take the water taxi to Alki Beach. I would live here all the time if I could and we will definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area. It was wonderful to be able to take our time in the mornings rather than rushing to breakfast in a hotel and then to be able to come home and cook our own evening meal at the end of a busy sightseeing day was just lovely :) We were also lucky enough to be able to access the private beach at Windemere Park (a short car journey/ or a longer walk around the corner) for the afternoon with it's fantastic view of Mt Rainier. This topped off a fabulous week in Seattle which passed all too quickly! Thank you David and Peggy for all the lovely little finishing touches that made our stay so special :)
Owner response:We're very pleased to have another 5 star review and a very satisfied guest! THANK YOU!

Everything was just as described. The apartment was immaculate, bright, and open; yet, it was both private and peaceful. We had the conveniences of home with Peggy's thoughtful touches including flowers and cheerful accessories. Essential items are kept in the apartment, so you do not have to rush out to purchase anything the first day. Peggy has a gift for hospitality and a wonderful sense of color and design. David also left a list of recommended restaurants and grocery stores, as well as brochures for attractions and other helpful information in the apartment. They were very helpful, but never intrusive. This was a great experience - far superior to any hotel !
Owner response:Thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you both. Peggy

The apartment was absolutely beautiful and clean. The secluded garden area was lovely with a large tree growing right out of the side of the patio. My husband and I stayed here on a vacation and enjoyed how functional the space was. We had everything we needed and more (extra pillows and blankets, an umbrella, laundry supplies, food supplies like butter, cooking oil, spices, tea, and coffee, office supplies including a printer so we could print out tickets online for events, etc.). Peggy even brought over a fresh bouquet of flowers from her garden, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh milk, and bagels. My husband and I enjoyed cooking our own meals most of the time we were in Seattle. We read several books during our stay because we honestly just wanted to relax in the lovely, bright apartment with a scenic view. We also did several tourist-y things in the downtown area, which was only about a 15-20 minute drive South. You don't have to have a car to get around, but I would honestly recommend it. It would be a challenge to always rely on public transportation, especially if you plan on going downtown. I recommend taking a walk at the Washington Park Arboretum and taking a stroll through the Japanese Botanical Garden. It's a very short drive away and the arboretum is free. It's very lush and as long as it's not too cold/wet, it's a perfect place to have a picnic and/or read a book. If you're really wanting to get away and relax, I would definitely recommend this apartment. It's secluded enough to be scenic, but it's also very close to the city, so it's very convenient. Also, there are several stores, cafes, etc. within walking distance (including a delicious bakery). Peggy even provided us with a QFC discount card so we could save money on our groceries while we were there. Another special thing Peggy did is she helped my mom pick out a couple of desserts and a bottle of wine to surprise us with when we arrived. We were there to celebrate our birthdays, so you can imagine how special it was to have such a delicious, thoughtful gift upon our arrival. Peggy really went out of her way to help with that. The one thing I noticed other people writing about is that the driveway is small. In my opinion, it's really not that small. Any size car will fit. A huge suburban might be a bit tight, but other than that, you'll be fine. Thanks so much for the great experience, Peggy and Dave!

Delightful place, beautifully designed and appointed. Couldn't be improved upon. Wish all places were like yours. We are on our way to China and will remember your garden apartment fondly.

The apartment is great, well-equipped and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. My only complaint was the owner's lack of responsiveness to several inquiries (email, phone messages to each owner) about returning the deposit. Just lack of attention to it on their part but it shouldn't have taken 2 weeks.
Owner response:Our guests' comments have all been exemplary so we’re very sorry this guest experienced a lack of attention in refunding her damage deposit. We try to return damage deposits as soon as possible if the apartment is left in good condition and, as stated in our contract, the refund will be processed WITHIN 14 DAYS of departure...as indeed hers was. We lead busy professional lives in addition to running our vacation rental and we assure our potential guests who may read this comment that we conduct our vacation rental business with honesty, integrity and with the goal of maximizing our guests’ enjoyment of our apartment.

We stayed at this lovely apartment for almost 3 weeks. It is super clean, very well designed, has a place for everything and provides for all your needs. The neighborhood is beautiful, nice for walking, churhcs, stores and restaurants are near by. Views of Lake Washington and the mountains are beautiful. The owners are friendly and accomodating but never in your space. We will definately stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

This was the perfect place for me to stay on my first visit to Seattle! So cute and cozy and in a great location! Close to shopping and the University of Washington. It had everything I needed and then some! The owners made me feel very welcome and they even provided fresh cut flowers upon my arrival! Absolutely wonderful! I hope to stay here again when I return to Seattle to visit my daughter!

We stayed in the garden apartment for a week in October. It is beautifully appointed and more spacious that it seems from the photos. Very quiet and elegant. Paricularly loved the heated floor which left the bedroom cool for sleeping. We were pleasantly surprised to find the refrigerator stocked with breakfast food - much welcomed after a long cross county trip. The location could not be better. Easily accessible to major highways and only minutes from downtow. We did a series of day trips to area sights and returned each evening to a neighboorhood of good restaurants. An excellent choice for any traveller.Short or longer term stay.

Every guest who wrote in the guest book referred to this rental as a 'home away from home' - a perfect description. It was immaculate, well appointed, charming and comfy. We'd recommend this property to all of our friends. Easy to get everywhere in the city (we had a car), convenient to groceries, good shops and restaurants a short walk away. It's situated in a lovely neighborhood. The Sand Point Grill at the top of the hill also highly recommended. (Owner charming, chef talented - delightful all around.) Enjoy!
