Unit 102, Leeward Key - 2936 Scenic Gulf Drive, Destin Area, Florida (just east of Destin, halfway between Destin and Sandestin).
Our condominium is a two bedroom, two full bath 1220 square foot apartment. It is on the ground floor and is a corner (end) unit with extra windows. The condominium can sleep up to 8 people (pull-out full couch in living room, two full beds in the guest bedroom, king sized bed in the huge master bedroom). Wifi is freely available in the condo. It is very comfortable and fully equipped in every respect.
Leeward Key is located in Miramar Beach between Destin and Sandestin. The Destin area offers something for everyone! World-class fishing, world-class golfing, a shoppers dream come true at the Silver Sands Outlet Mall, water parks, miniature golfing, fine dining, and don’t forget the spectacular crystal - white beaches of the Gulf!
The beach in this section of the Emerald Coast has been renourished..... miles and miles of pure white Destin sand. Perfect for walking, sitting, sandcastles - whatever!! Try the Destincam or the Webcam on the top of Leeward Key for great views to the west.

Year Purchased: 1998
We retired to Destin 14 years ago after living and traveling in Scandinavia for eleven years. Since Canada is our original home, there was no doubt that our retirement home was going to be somewhere warm and sunny! All of our daughters and most of our family members are still in Canada - but everyone is eager to come and visit, especially when the snow is falling up north. Love living here - get to the beach as often as we can - and occasionally we go to Leeward Key 102 and pretend that we are tourists seeing it all for the first time. We still remember the first time we visited and how awed we were (goosebumps!) by the beautiful beaches and the emerald green colour of the water!
Why the Owner Chose Leeward Key
We bought our condo. pre-construction....knowing that this area of "old 98" was a special area and would eventually become even better as development continued. We were correct on both counts! It is now a wonderful area to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach and beachside pool; it is also located very close to the most incredible golfing, shopping, eating and entertainment areas you could imagine for a smallish city. There is absolutely something for everyone!
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Our condo now has everything to make one feel at home. It is cozy and well-equipped in every way. There are two pools to choose from and an exercise room that is only steps away from unit 102. The newest addition is a totally new Lobby area with a big screen TV and community computer available to renters. This new Lobby area has comfortable furniture and a small kitchen for meetings or family occasions. All tenants now register and check in at the office in one corner of this revamped Lobby area; this is very convenient as it is on the same level and only steps away from our unit 102.

We loved this unit! Spacious and equipped with everything we needed. The first floor unit was perfect for easy access to the beach and pools. The condo is in the perfect location with unobstructed beach views, spectacular sunsets, and restaurants within walking distance. The pool on the beach was a bonus and we loved hanging out there! We would definitely recommend this unit.
