  The suite looked fabulous online, but when we arrived we were disappointed. Although the suite was adequate, there are several areas that need improvement: • To provide adequate privacy for guests, window coverings should be replaced, especially in the living room, where the blinds do not meet in the middle. • Entire suite needs a thorough cleaning – floors need washing and carpets need vacuuming and steam cleaning. • Following items need to be provided for the kitchen – a sharp set of knives; dish cloths and more tea towels; more food storage containers; trivets or pads for serving hot dishes (the rusty metal one provided should be discarded); oven mitts (the flat oven pads provided are not enough). • More light in the kitchen – we found it quite dark as we were preparing meals and doing dishes. • Area rug in living room needs to be replaced as it is filthy and falling apart. • Mat at entrance needs to be replaced. It interferes with the operation of the door, and is a trip hazard. • Bed linens should be upgraded – perhaps even a matching set of sheets? • Dresser in master bedroom and lamps in second bedroom need to be replaced; sofa and chair need to be vacuumed/cleaned. • Beach umbrellas need to be replaced – they are far too heavy to be opened easily, and the ribs are no longer attached to the fabric. • TV remote needs to be replaced. It is falling apart, and doesn’t always work – most times we needed to walk over to the TV to turn it on. We would not recommend this suite in its current condition. In spite of the shortcomings above, we would like to thank the staff for quickly responding to our calls when we did require assistance. We appreciated the owner providing the phone for us, even though Wifi and phone service was intermittent. The view from the suite, of course, is incredible, and we enjoyed the sounds of the ocean, and watching surfers and dolphins, and various activities on the water. We also felt safe in the area, and took many walks.

• Great Getaway

  This was the perfect place for a perfect, quick getaway! My mother-in-law was out visiting, so we decided to find a nice place on the beach to stay for a couple of nights. My mother-in-law is from Idaho so she just fell in love with the place and did not want to leave!!! From sitting on the patio drinking coffee, listening to the waves in the morning to relaxing in the jacuzzi at night, we could not have asked for more! If you are looking for the perfect size place for a family of 4 people for a great price in the summer, then come here, do not look any further!!! We have stayed with Beachfront Only a few times before but mostly in larger properties and were so happy to find out that they also have smaller properties perfect for our size family. We really had a memorable time and would like to thank Beachfront Only so much for our wonderful weekend and we will definitely come back again and again!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  My wife and I stay at the property in May for a weekend getaway. The beds, pillows and towels were great. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook much more than we actually did. We kept it simple (sandwhiches etc.) but we could have fixed about anything with all that was provided even baking and BBQ. The hot tub was cleaned daily and was nice to relax in the evening. We didn't use the putting green but that and the fireplace would be a lot of fun had it not just been the two of us. We enjoyed walking to the pier just up the beach and taking a run on the beach down to Carlsbad. It's pretty amazing that you can jog that far all on the beach. The property itself was well kept and nice and it was great to be able to bring our dog. We had a great stay and would recommend to anyone.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
