  Surprised my husband for his 50th birthday and what a great surprise for both of us. Thanks hunny for turning 50 :) We stayed 3 nights and we were not ready to come home! What a beautiful place. I do believe this is a little piece of heaven on earth. Our 25th wedding anniversary is coming up, the trip to Cabo is out. White Rock here we come! Reservations couldn't of been easier. Katie THANK YOU! Highly recommend!

  The description is completely accurate. It is a perfect retreat for spending a few days at the beach. The location (hearing the ocean and seeing the sunsets) and the very long stretch of beach walking make this a wonderful 'get-away' for those wanting these experiences. The owner was a cell phone call away for any and all questions. The house has all the amenities that you could possibly want and was perfectly clean and very well maintained. It is a newer house with all the comforts and extras including a gas fireplace. The town of Brookings is about seven miles north. Not much to see. The outside deck is not as private. You see your neighbors on either side's outside decks. I was there in the beginning of the week, so it was very quiet. I went for the long stretch of beach for walking and the sound of the ocean. I will return again.

  We could not have asked for a better place to stay while hiking in the Redwoods, walking on the beach, and enjoying the small towns around Ocean Mist! Thank you, Mike and Katie!

  We came to this cabin in hopes to de-stress from our day to day. This was exactly what we wanted and expected. The cabin is cozy and had all the comforts of home. The updates are wonderful and we wanted for nothing in this cabin. The beach and ocean are peaceful and someway secluded. The hot tub was a welcome contrast to te cool Northern California evenings. This is te place to sit back and just listen to the ocean.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  Small but very comfortable place. Suprising privacy for being so close to other cabins and quiet. It was great to find everything we could possibly need from the kitchen utensils and seasonings to the extra blankets in the bedroom. Loft would be perfect for kids just a bit tight for adults. A BBQ would be nice addition. Limited parking but extra available for a fee. Owner was excellent to work with making reservation simple and straight forward . Excellent location for Redwoods and the beach.

  This was a trip for my daughters 13th birthday and we brought along a friend and my mother-in-law. We had a great time. Place was perfect. Very warm and inviting. Not one bad thing to say about the entire weekend! Will recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway.

  This was our second stay at the cabin, and was once again an incredibly wonderful stay! The weather was perfect! The cabin was perfect!! We definitely plan on staying there again! Thanks SO much for sharing your comfy cozy cabin!

  WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. TEMP FOR THE WEEK WAS ABOUT 60's TO 70's IN LAST WEEK OF JUNE. VERY PEACEFUL AT NIGHT. THE BEACH WAS GREAT WE LIKED THE PRIVACY.THE ONE VERY BIG DRAWBACK WAS THE VIEW. THE PICTURES LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE A GREAT VIEW OF THE COAST LINE. WHEN WE ARRIVED WE WERE DISSAPOINTED BY THE LARGE HEADGE AND BRICK WALL COVERING THE VIEW OF THE SOUTH END OF THE WATER AND BEACH.IF THERE IS A WAY TO TAKE THOSE DOWN ABOUT 4 FEET THEN THE VIEW WILL BE WORTH IT. I HOPE THIS CAN HAPPEN WOULD LOVE TO COME BACK.

  Stayed at Ocean Mist in October 2010 on a small family getaway and were very satisfied. First of all I'd like to say that Katie Garret (owner of cabin) is extremely personable and friendly on the phone. There were a couple small mishaps but nothing that could have been prevented by the owners. When we arrived (an hour after check in) we were surprised to find the front door wide open and the cleaning lady inside. She said she would be about an hour until she was done, but since it was raining out and we had no where to go we asked if she would just leave it the way it was. We helped her tie up the trash bags and take them outside so she could be on her way. The cabin is warm, cozy, comfortable, well kept. There were TONS of ammenities, we expected bare cabinets but found spices, hot cocoa, ice in freezer, lots of the little stuff that you dont think about bringing with you. Board games, music, books, extra ammenities that were a nice surprise! FYI this is not mentioned on the website but you cannot actually stand in the loft upstairs unless you're about 4 ft. tall, so keep that in mind if you have long legs and are planning on sleeping in one of the 3 twins upstairs (also nice plus was the tv with cable upstairs, in addition to the larger one downstairs). The sheets and blankets on the beds were clean and smelt good which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. One other small altercation we had when we tried to lock up as we left on the first night, the lock box was not working correctly. It was jammed up and wouldnt open to get the key out. (we didnt discover this til later since we had been let in by the cleaning lady when we arrived) After about 20 minutes of trying to pry it open with a knife we finally called the home # that Mike and Katie had given to us, Katie was bewildered why it wasnt working and gave us a lot of suggestions on how to try to get it open and said she would call a personal friend of hers who lived in the area to come fix it for us. Luckily, the darn thing popped open while we were on the phone with her and we were on our way. Not a big deal but we appreciated Katie's concern over this. The back deck is great with a beautiful (very close) ocean veiw. Hot tub is brand new, clean and just the right tempature, spent a lot of time, day, night, rain and shine relaxing in the hot tub, drinking beer looking at the ocean! (now that's vacation as far as I'm concerned!) I would absolutely return to this cabin, home away from home, but even better!! :-)

  The Ocean Mist property is absolutely charming and so well equipped and cozy that you hardly want to leave to explore the many attractions the coast has to offer. The cabin is furnished and decorated so well throughout that you know that a lot of TLC was put into it to welcome its guests. And the view from the deck at sunset is breathtaking. We lucked out weather wise and didn't see any clouds, rain or even fog during our stay and looking up at the stars from the hot tub in the evening and morning just before sunrise was awesome! We'll definitely come back to Ocean Mist.

  Ocean Mist is a great vacation spot we spent 10 days here traveling up and down the coast ,Grants Pass and Jacksonville . The cabin has all the comforts of home is spotless clean . With great views and a wonderful beach to take afternoon walks on and great sunsets , we look forward to our next stay .

  We had such a great time traveling to all the fun places like the Redwoods, Grants Pass and back into Golds Beach. Traveling to Bandon, Or. and back, but always get back in time for happy hour. Great weather! Fun Tide pools. Hope to return again. Ogden, Ut.

  June 2008 Spent a very pleasant week here. Very nice accommodations and beach access. Quiet and comfortable. Close to Brookings/Harbor for shopping or dining. Great sunsets!

  Ocean Mist was very cozy, and comfortable. It was just a very short walk to the beach and we had a relaxing vacation. We plan on returning again soon.

  My family and I just returned from this beautiful cabin. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. It's beautifully decorated, very cozy and has all the emenities you would have at your own house. It's a perfect getaway with the cool nights where you can sit in the hottub on the deck, or cozy up by the fireplace. Either way it's PERFECT. The beach is just steps away. We will definately be using it again! Thanks for the wonderful memories!

  This is by far the most comfortable Cabin my wife kids and I have stayed in. What a memorable vacation we had in this Cabin! It was so comfortable and roomy it was like moving our house to the ocean. You guys real have a nice place. We took many walks on the beach, we even went crabbing off of the pier. We went horseback riding on the beach man that is fun and rafted down the Rogue river. It's in a perfect location! Thank you again for the use of your Cabin!
