This three year old cabin has all the amenities of home within a secluded wilderness setting. Just 8 miles from Ely, overlooking the East Arm of Lake Burntside -- the crown jewel of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. There are two bedrooms, one queen bed; one full bed, plus a loft with two daybeds. There are also two twin sized air beds that can fit in the loft, or in the living room. The living room couch is also large enough to sleep one adult. There are two full baths, each with a shower/tub enclosure.
The deck overlooks the lake, and the town of Ely is barely visible off in the distance. View the Northern Lights out the bedroom windows. There is a large fire ring for camp fires or cook outs.
This is the ideal location to make a home base for day trips into the BWCA (no permit needed) or for shopping in Ely. There is a large network of day hikes within a few miles drive -- the same trails are groomed for cross-country skiing in the winter -- and the blueberry picking is great. The International Wolf Center and the brand new North American Bear Center showcase our local wildlife; the Dorothy Molter Museum displays the actual cabin of the last human resident of the BWCA; the Soudan Underground Mine Tour is fascinating; the Bois Forte Heritage Center celebrates the cultural heritage of the Ojibway; and the Fortune Bay Casino all provide great entertainment for the occasional rainy day in the north woods.

$500 Security deposit plus $25 extra cleaning for well-behaved dogs.

Year Purchased: 2006
I grew up going to Camp Northland on the North Arm of Lake Burntside and have loved this area ever since. I began returning for canoe trips with friends, and then when the opportunity presented itself, took the plunge and bought the cabin. Now I return as often as possible and love the area in all seasons.
