    Ken's dedication to this property is apparent. He was a fantastic host and helped with everything from providing fuel for the tiki torches to giving directions to a great swimming area. We had a group of 18 and everyone had a cozy place to sleep. There is no shortage of beds! The view at sunset is breathtaking and not to be missed. We all loved our stay here. We wished we could have stayed longer!

    ken was super helpful and nice, he even stopped by the second day to drop off extra towels. the house is out of this world amazing, relaxing, views are unreal. even though it is generator powered you never feel like you are "roughing it". friends loved the grounds so much they slept out by the fire even tho their was plenty of beds. the sunsets are unreal up there and his friend who was doing upkeep on the other buildings gave us directions to a great swimming spot and checked in to make sure we were ok, but was not intrusive. there is also an amazing cat on the property, who really makes you feel at home. we had a great stay, wish it wasnt 3000 miles from home!

    We had an adventure getting to Ken's place and it was so worth it. 5 miles on a dirt road that leads you above Clear Lake reveals a stunning view through a clearing in the forest. When we got there Ken's mom let us know that we could stay in the Tipi or upgrade to the Sweetheart Cabin for no extra cost. We took the upgrade, but would have been just as happy in the Tipi. I never met Ken, but he was very helpful through messages on airbnb and text. His mom met us at the site and was lovely. We had a great time!

    We had a wonderful time at Precious Forest. We celebrated our wedding there with around 50 people and it was gorgeous. The sunset over the lake is so beautiful! Ken is a fantastic host. He has been super helpful the whole time. He recommended a party rental place, let us use his smoker and stereo, did the dishes, and just helped out wherever he could. We loved the place so much that we're going to come back each year.

    We enjoyed a perfect stay at Precious Forest. Ken met us at the property to clearly explain everything you need to know about the property including all cooking options, electricity, and all bedding. We had everything we needed for cooking, bathing (under the stars if you prefer), and sleeping. It made it very easy to just relax and enjoy ourselves. The area is gorgeous and the trees make sure you always have shade even though the heat isn't nearly what it's like at the bottom of the hill. Ceago and other lakeside wineries nearby. Blue Lakes just a few miles down the road for swimming . Kens Property and the surrounding area have all you need for a great getaway.

    A group of friends and I (14 all together I believe) stayed at Precious Forest for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party and it was the perfect place. It's a little crazy finding the place at night, though not all of us had this problem, so I would recommend trying to arrive during the daytime. Otherwise, it truly was perfect, and anyways it's nice to be deeper into the woods so as to get a bit more privacy than you would have closer to the lake. There was plenty of space for our whole group. The cabins and tents were nicely kempt. There was a generator that operated perfectly and allowed us to project a movie out on the lawn (Friday the 13th because, ya know, cabins and all). The cabin was close to Clear Lake, which is not a swimming lake, but we found great swimming a little ways up the road (you can ask the on-site manager about this). It's hot up there in mid-July but there is plenty of shade in which to recline and recover from many a hang over. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I could see us coming back in the future just for the fun of it.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    I was recently put in charge of finding a location to host a joint bachelor/bachelorette party weekend. After searching for weeks I stumbled upon Precious forest. Precious forest was the perfect fit. The weather was beautiful, the lodgings were comfortable and the scenery was breathtaking. Precious forest comes equipped with a full kitchen, dining room, cabins and teepees with beds, outdoor showers and even an outdoor toilet. Precious forest provided us with modern amenities in a laid back camping setting, for those who like to feel like they are roughing it in a convenient comfortable style. The onsite manager Dan provided us with wood for the fire every night and provided a wealth of information about the area. We also had loads of entertainment with the "owners" of precious forest, Sinbad (the large cuddly cat), Dip (the fluffy sweet watchdog), and Sasha (the little furry party animal). At precious forest we had everything we needed and the weekend before the wedding was one we will all always remember.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    My friends and I had a great stay at Precious Forest. We really enjoyed the view, trees, the mountain water drinking water and baths. The land is spacious and we were very much able to rest. The 12 of us fit perfectly in the bedding situation. I would recommend bringing your own tents if your group is much larger than 12 to provide everyone with a bit of space, but you could definitely fit a few more on beds. Ken was a fantastic, personable host. Oh...and they have the best fire pit in existence!

    Loved our visit to the Precious Forest. Our birthday group of 13 was treated to the attentive hospitality of Ken and his mountain retreat. It is quite an adventure to be warmed by woodstove, and even try to cook using wood (with a little bit of help from the gas side of the stove). The main cabin was cozy and perfect for playing instruments and catching up. The lawn was great for horsing around, and the secluded location also offers lots of great walks. Don't say no to Ken's offer to leave Dip-D

    Had an amazing time this past weekend at Precious Forest!!! Ken and his family are amazing! We had a group of 16 for a 40th Birthday Surprise Party and couldn't have asked for a better time! Me, being the plan freak that I am, had many questions for Ken prior to our arrival, because as host of the party I would be showing up late with the birthday boy while all the guests set-up the surprise party. Ken answered all my questions quickly and even helped my friends in the set-up before I arrived.

    Ken is a gracious host - he provided us with plenty of warm bedding, chopped firewood, and checked up on us to see if we needed anything without ever being obtrusive. He even drove us to a trail we had trouble finding! The cabins themselves are awesome. They are real cabins, remote, and surrounded by forest. I prefer them to camping because you still get running water (the tap water is really good) and comfy beds. My boyfriend wants me to add that Ken rhymes with ten! :)

    My family and I could not have asked for a better Christmas vacation. There were 17 of us and every single one of us a loved staying there, from the 2 year old baby to grandma and even our dogs. The view from the property is beautiful. The cabins were very nice and clean and I personally loved the rustic feel to everything, including the working 100 year old stove. Overall, I love this place and I am defiantly going back.

    Wow- Ken has a gem here with the Precious Forest! We found this property on airbnb and it looked wonderful, but the pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful drive up through gorgeous country, but climbing the hill up to the precious forest, we knew we were in for a treat. The cabin sits on a gorgeous, secluded, wooded property- and the main feature we thought was the quiet. My wife and I grew up in Colorado and we miss the quiet mountain air- Precious Forest gave us a wonderful dose of that. After enjoying the scenery for a while, we finally made cabin- just spectacular. Everything is just how I would love to have a cabin someday- rustic and authentic. Ken clearly loves this place and has put all the right finishing touches on. My favorite was definitely the old wood stove- love love love! Also, the old lanterns were perfect. Overall- this is what I call perfect wife camping... We grilled outside and cad a perfect campfire- cuddling and roasting marshmallows then went in to the very comfortable bed for a good rest. Highly highly recommend- thanks Ken for sharing the Precious Forest with us!

Precious Forest is a wonderful site to have a wedding. It's a long road up the mountain but worth the drive. This is where beauty and adventure meet to create the space for your guests to gather. If you enjoy camping, cabins, cozy wood burning stoves, kind and attentive pets and an escape from city madness, then this is the place for you! My wife and I had a wonderful wedding and vacation in Precious Forest. The cabin is romantic and cozy, the grounds spacious and exactly what we were looking for. We were even able to have my rock band play outside at our reception. Really fun! Ken and Katie are hard working, kind and gracious hosts who made my wife and I and our newly combined families feel very comfortable and welcome. They also provided our catering with an amazing feast which was enjoyed by all. We really appreciate the time we spent there and have many fond memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

We are tremendously grateful for you-for building this magical place as well as sharing it with us. Three days were not long enough for a stay here. We wish we could live here. And on that note, we would like to acknowledge and tip off our hats to your beautiful, simple and timeless life style. Living on the land, working the land, living off the land.     "The Perfect Place For Playing House" My boyfriend and I have stayed in the Precious Forest cabin during the last two Valentine's Days. Ken is the nicest person I've ever met. He delivered delicious pancakes to us one morning, let us adopt his lab/husky puppy for the day, and was constantly available whenever we needed advice about where to go or how to get somewhere. They aren't lying when they say this cabin is romantic romantic romantic. There is an antique stove perfect for cooking pasta, a porch for watching the beautiful sunsets over the lake, and even a jacuzzi tub! And the price is unbelievable...never did I think we would be able to stay i such an amazing place since we both are college students and are poor...But on top of everything, it is super affordable. Thanks for everything Ken! Ps...if you go to Precious Forest, bring a playlist full of 1940s love songs...it goes with the atmosphere there perfectly. :)

    I was fortunate enough to run across this vacation cabin hidden in the woods. My husband and I had such a peaceful time enjoying the simple way of life. There is something magical about this place... you come home planning when your ready to go back to the precious forest. The area has so much to offer like the wine tasting at the surrounding wineries, beautiful sunsets on the decks, and the jetted bathtub. If you are ready to getaway from it all for some peace & quiet this is your place. Ken is a wonderful host & is accommodating to your every need. This place shows the hardwork & passion he has for making dreams come true. .

    "Peaceful getaway!" We spent the week after Christmas here and had a wonderful time. Getting to the cabin the first time was a little challenging, but by the second trip into town we were pros. The scenery is gorgeous and the cabin a true piece of architectural art! Ken was super friendly and readily available when we needed help with something. If you have small kids, I would recommend spring or summer stays-- lots of time inside frustrates the little ones when there's so much to explore but too cold outside.

    Once again, we were captivated by the peace and beauty of Precious Forest. We were blessed to witness a foot of snow fall in two days...a wonderful experience coming from Phoenix AZ!! As always, our host was very helpful and attentive. We will be back to Precious Forest, and look forward to spending more time up on the mountain.

    Dear Ken, thank you for a peaceful respite away from my busy life. Squirty & I loved it and will be back! I look forward to the jaccuzzi tub as well as sunsets with out fog. I loved the return to my roots and rustic living. The fog added a sense of mystery. I also loved cooking on the old stove. I was able to make all but one meal without gas. see you next time :) Many blessings and peace.

The cabin, the view, the sunsets, the stars and the solitude gave us the most perfect time together. 3 days and 4 nights in the Precious Forest provided precious moments we will never forget.     We LOVE Precious Forest! It is just that, Precious. What a rare and special kind of retreat. The antique decor and appliances, the candle light, the kitty Sinbad, the home cooked delicious food, the comfortable beds, the bath tub, and the natural serenity of this place create an unforgettable experience.     When we were first climbing up the hill we were not sure what we got into. But when we saw the cabin we thought we were in paradise. When we used the old stove it was better than paradise. Then we used the jacuzzi tub and that is when we said we were in heaven! Thank you for having such a great place, we enjoyed every minute. Thank you for the bottle of wine. And it was nice to meet you. We ate, drank, slept in Heaven and peace.

    Ken- I wish our stay could have been longer- a week, a month, a lifetime! Very seldom have we been able to experience such quiet tranquility. Most of the day & throughout the night all we heard were the birds and the breeze. Thank you from both of us (and the puppies!) for sharing your "Precious Forest" with us. This quiet time together (and completely alone) has been WONDERFUL!! We plan to make our next stay much longer. thanks so much! Dan & Linda

    "Fantastic!!!" Dear Ken, We had a fantastic weekend at Precious forest. We were looking for a quite, nice place to celebrate our first anniversary and I feel we made the right choice. Sindbad was very friendly. My wife and I completely enjoyed his company. At first I had my own doubts if all the positive reviews for this place could be true. After the stay I realize all the previous reviews were spot-on. Thanks for the fresh salad greens and tips on the hiking trails. Cheers, S & G

    We love this place and its host, Ken. The cabin is great and very secluded - if you want to listen to deep of deepest silence and enjoy quiet and relaxing time - it's hard to imagine a better place. Granted, you sometimes may need to hear a muffled sound of the generators, but it's a fair price to price to pay for those times in between (we were perfectly happy with candle light at night, so we did not need the generators most of the time, anyway). Ken is a great host. He cooked and served us a great dinner - make sure to bring your best appetites - the food is not only delicious and creative, but also ... ample, to say the least :).

    Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

    Dear Ken, thank you soo much for such a nice retreat from city living. The hike to Pinnacle was breath taking! The view from the bath tub was amazing and the stove was fantastic.What a wonderful two days! We will surely be back. Lily, Moshe and Kaya & Nolan (the babies).
