Loved our visit to the Precious Forest. Our birthday group of 13 was treated to the attentive hospitality of Ken and his mountain retreat. It is quite an adventure to be warmed by woodstove, and even try to cook using wood (with a little bit of help from the gas side of the stove). The main cabin was cozy and perfect for playing instruments and catching up. The lawn was great for horsing around, and the secluded location also offers lots of great walks. Don't say no to Ken's offer to leave Dip-D

Had an amazing time this past weekend at Precious Forest!!! Ken and his family are amazing! We had a group of 16 for a 40th Birthday Surprise Party and couldn't have asked for a better time! Me, being the plan freak that I am, had many questions for Ken prior to our arrival, because as host of the party I would be showing up late with the birthday boy while all the guests set-up the surprise party. Ken answered all my questions quickly and even helped my friends in the set-up before I arrived.

Ken is a gracious host - he provided us with plenty of warm bedding, chopped firewood, and checked up on us to see if we needed anything without ever being obtrusive. He even drove us to a trail we had trouble finding! The cabins themselves are awesome. They are real cabins, remote, and surrounded by forest. I prefer them to camping because you still get running water (the tap water is really good) and comfy beds. My boyfriend wants me to add that Ken rhymes with ten! :)

My family and I could not have asked for a better Christmas vacation. There were 17 of us and every single one of us a loved staying there, from the 2 year old baby to grandma and even our dogs. The view from the property is beautiful. The cabins were very nice and clean and I personally loved the rustic feel to everything, including the working 100 year old stove. Overall, I love this place and I am defiantly going back.

Wow- Ken has a gem here with the Precious Forest! We found this property on airbnb and it looked wonderful, but the pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful drive up through gorgeous country, but climbing the hill up to the precious forest, we knew we were in for a treat. The cabin sits on a gorgeous, secluded, wooded property- and the main feature we thought was the quiet. My wife and I grew up in Colorado and we miss the quiet mountain air- Precious Forest gave us a wonderful dose of that. After enjoying the scenery for a while, we finally made cabin- just spectacular. Everything is just how I would love to have a cabin someday- rustic and authentic. Ken clearly loves this place and has put all the right finishing touches on. My favorite was definitely the old wood stove- love love love! Also, the old lanterns were perfect. Overall- this is what I call perfect wife camping... We grilled outside and cad a perfect campfire- cuddling and roasting marshmallows then went in to the very comfortable bed for a good rest. Highly highly recommend- thanks Ken for sharing the Precious Forest with us!

Precious Forest is a wonderful site to have a wedding. It's a long road up the mountain but worth the drive. This is where beauty and adventure meet to create the space for your guests to gather. If you enjoy camping, cabins, cozy wood burning stoves, kind and attentive pets and an escape from city madness, then this is the place for you! My wife and I had a wonderful wedding and vacation in Precious Forest. The cabin is romantic and cozy, the grounds spacious and exactly what we were looking for. We were even able to have my rock band play outside at our reception. Really fun! Ken and Katie are hard working, kind and gracious hosts who made my wife and I and our newly combined families feel very comfortable and welcome. They also provided our catering with an amazing feast which was enjoyed by all. We really appreciate the time we spent there and have many fond memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

"The Perfect Place For Playing House" My boyfriend and I have stayed in the Precious Forest cabin during the last two Valentine's Days. Ken is the nicest person I've ever met. He delivered delicious pancakes to us one morning, let us adopt his lab/husky puppy for the day, and was constantly available whenever we needed advice about where to go or how to get somewhere. They aren't lying when they say this cabin is romantic romantic romantic. There is an antique stove perfect for cooking pasta, a porch for watching the beautiful sunsets over the lake, and even a jacuzzi tub! And the price is unbelievable...never did I think we would be able to stay i such an amazing place since we both are college students and are poor...But on top of everything, it is super affordable. Thanks for everything Ken! Ps...if you go to Precious Forest, bring a playlist full of 1940s love songs...it goes with the atmosphere there perfectly. :)

I was fortunate enough to run across this vacation cabin hidden in the woods. My husband and I had such a peaceful time enjoying the simple way of life. There is something magical about this place... you come home planning when your ready to go back to the precious forest. The area has so much to offer like the wine tasting at the surrounding wineries, beautiful sunsets on the decks, and the jetted bathtub. If you are ready to getaway from it all for some peace & quiet this is your place. Ken is a wonderful host & is accommodating to your every need. This place shows the hardwork & passion he has for making dreams come true. .

"Peaceful getaway!" We spent the week after Christmas here and had a wonderful time. Getting to the cabin the first time was a little challenging, but by the second trip into town we were pros. The scenery is gorgeous and the cabin a true piece of architectural art! Ken was super friendly and readily available when we needed help with something. If you have small kids, I would recommend spring or summer stays-- lots of time inside frustrates the little ones when there's so much to explore but too cold outside.

Dear Ken, thank you for a peaceful respite away from my busy life. Squirty & I loved it and will be back! I look forward to the jaccuzzi tub as well as sunsets with out fog. I loved the return to my roots and rustic living. The fog added a sense of mystery. I also loved cooking on the old stove. When we were first climbing up the hill we were not sure what we got into. But when we saw the cabin we thought we were in paradise. When we used the old stove it was better than paradise. Then we used the jacuzzi tub and that is when we said we were in heaven! Thank you for having such a great place, we enjoyed every minute. Thank you for the bottle of wine. "Fantastic!!!" Dear Ken, We had a fantastic weekend at Precious forest. We were looking for a quite, nice place to celebrate our first anniversary and I feel we made the right choice. Sindbad was very friendly. My wife and I completely enjoyed his company. At first I had my own doubts if all the positive reviews for this place could be true. We love this place and its host, Ken. The cabin is great and very secluded - if you want to listen to deep of deepest silence and enjoy quiet and relaxing time - it's hard to imagine a better place. Granted, you sometimes may need to hear a muffled sound of the generators, but it's a fair price to price to pay for those times in between (we were perfectly happy with candle light at night, so we did not need the generators most of the time, anyway). Ken is a great host. He cooked and served us a great dinner - make sure to bring your best appetites - the food is not only delicious and creative, but also ... ample, to say the least :).

Ken, had a great time despite rainy weather to start our weekend. :) Cabin is beautiful and view terrific, once the low clouds went away. Pinnacle rock was great- beautiful views!!! Hiking trails below cabin and just above Lucerne were terrific & just steep enough for good strenuous workout in a one hour hike. Views of Lake were awesome. Hello Ken wanted to let you know we had another wonderful stay here. This time we brought several empty jugs so we could bring back some of the wonderful water that is up here. It was very good but apparently no longer Sinbad the cat's palace. I guess he's used to his new home up the hill. We did miss feeding & grooming him, though I was able to pet him a few times. Again we loved so much about this place, the air, the water, the stove for cooking wonderful dinners and a candle lit evening of relaxing + loving each other. The moon and stars last night were spectacular! We heard the voice of the wind singing through the trees. Both yesterday and today, we also saw and heard a huge Raven flying and cawing about! He was a magnificent bird. We're very grateful for the opportunity to experience such a journey up here. We hope to see this place again this summer, along with the kids. Richard & Melissa

The last few days at the cabin have been absolutely perfect! We cant believe our time here has gone by so fast. We had a blast cooking dinner on the stove every night after watching the spectacular sunsets. Thanks to Ken for showing us around and letting us use the cabin for our art projects! We had a wonderful weekend away while leaving our phones, computers, and all other electronics behind. Little towns around Clear Lake are a short drive away, but why leave the cozy cabin? The cabin is both rustic and very comfortable and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet and cooking our meals on the wood stove. Both Ken and Sinbad the cat were gracious hosts, and Eddie was near by in case we needed anything during our stay. The hike to Pinnacle Rock was perfect for an afternoon outing. We will visit again!
