The owners of Sea Rose Villa are modest about their beautiful home, and the photos just don't do it justice! If you're looking for a more authentic Jamaican vacation, this is the way to do it! We stayed at a resort last time, and though it was terrific too, this is a much more relaxing vacation. The staff accommodated our schedule instead of us being subject to the resort requirements to control a "herd". The Villa is set in a peaceful neighborhood in the middle of a beautiful and peaceful garden. Flowers, fruit trees and grass along with the sound of the ocean from just across the street makes Sea Rose a lovely place to return home to after a busy day of doing "whatever the heck we want!" Runaway Bay is easy access to Ocho Rios attractions, but you can choose to stay away on cruise ship days. So far (as I write, we're still in paradise), we've visited Mystic Mountain (which is beautifully done - and my daughter says it was "the best day of my life"), but is definately pricey!! We also did ATV tours with Wilderness Tours combined with Dunn's River Falls. I highly recommend them! About half the price of anyone else, extreme personal attention, and they only ATV tour around that allowed our 7 year old to ride. We were also treated to a driving tour by "Teacher", the Sea Rose Driver, to and around Ocho Rios. Adessa cooks AMAZING food in somehow just exactly the right portions. We feel satisfied without being bloated and miserable while trying to enjoy the island. The house feels just enormous with four private decks. We've opted to eat breakfast outside every morning, which is total bliss. The evening is definately mosquito time, though! Better to dine in the large ding room. We've enjoyed having our iPods/iPhones hooked up to the music system in the main room, and just lounging on our gorgeous front porch. More than anything, interacting with the locals and making fast friends around the neighborhood has been a total treat. Dining requests and times have been handled with "no problem". Also, the master bedroom with a CalKing bed is HUGE! With two outdoor decks and the breeze blowing through all of the screened windows, it's just a treat! The air conditioning units in the bedrooms really pump out the cool air and make a perfect amount of noise for great sleep. If you're looking for either a quiet romantic vacation or a laid back family vacation, the Sea Rose Villa is an incredibly economic AND beautiful way to go about it!

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner response: We're so glad your stay was enjoyable. There's just no way to describe how wonderful Sea Rose is with just a photo or descriptive text- but you have! We would also like to thank you for mentioning the great meals that Adassa prepares. She our best kept secret. Safe travels and happy vacations!

What a lovely place of peace and quiet. We enjoyed our stay at Searose so much - it was hard to go back to the "real' world. The accomodations are everybit as nice as described; the food and servicee was outstanding. We really felt as if we were guests at a friend's home, who happened to not be there. Addassa even went to the trouble to make an apple pie for an old Minnesotan who requested it. Jamaican apples are so small, she must have peeled half the afternoon! "Ackee" the Jamaican dish became a favorite of ours, too. Thank you Kevin and Debi for sharing your lovely home.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to comment, and also the kind words about Adassa and the Sea Rose!

GETTING MARRIED AT THE SEA ROSE WAS PERFECT – We looked at many places in Denver Colorado to get married and once we started planning all of the details became overwhelming. After going over our flower options at a local florist “Simply Beautiful Flowers,” Barbara the owner knew that we were looking for something simple yet beautiful without all of the frustration and planning. Barbara told us she had a friend that owned a villa in Jamaica and it would be a beautiful place to get married. My fiancé and I were going on a cruise that was stopping in Ocho Rios on February 16, 2009 and this sounded like a wonderful place to be married. With it being a cruise, we only had one day for all of this to fall in place, Barbara made a few phone calls to the owner and Addassa who bent over backwards to make our wedding a reality. Everything was ready from the transportation which was provided by Hugh Johnson (he was on time and a very nice man), flowers and decorations, the marriage license, ceremony that was done by Rev. Michael A. Campbell (who was wonderful), rose pedals in our room, to the most incredible Jamaican Lobster lunch with all of the trimmings and wedding cake all done by Addassa and her team. We were treated very graciously and will never forget how perfect everyone made our special day! Thank you to all at the Sea Rose and a special thank you to Addassa; you are a precious and special lady! Ann and Randel Broomfield, ColoradoDate of stay February 16, 2009

SEA ROSE=TRANQUILITY! Every aspect of this lovely villa invites the guest to relax, relax, relax....everything and everyone is there to ensure that the "real world" floats away, if only for a week or two. Induge your senses in the soft breezes in the upstairs bedrooms, the quiet of the night from the spacious verandah, the aromas of coffee and breakfast made from local ingredients awaiting you on YOUR time schedule, if you still have one after arriving at the villa. Take some time to read old newspapers and People magazines with Kenneth (bring a few new issues with you, and you'll be friends forever!) or just wait until Adassa arrives with her amazing smile along with the fruit and vegetable and fish/protein staple of the day (my favorite is goat curry; don't forget to ask for it and give thanks for such bounty!)....relax, mon, this is the place!! Yes, you have easy access to "party" venues, tourist rompings with horses in the sea, but the true beauty of the Sea Rose is love of family, friends, and food. Don't miss it...The villa is spotlessly clean, every detail attended to. The owners take pride in their fruition, and it shows. No amenities (soft fruit drinks, water, snacks,...floaties, mats, towels, etc.) are "off limits;" they are there for you to enjoy and share....without an "added fee," if you know what I mean...When you go to the Sea Rose, you are family, treated with respect and grace...and privacy. I am grateful to those who own the property for their generous, "no problem" hospitality...GO! It will change your life's book of travel adventure as you now know it for the better.

What a wonderful place this is! Our family traveled to Jamaica for a family wedding, and being a family of 8, decided to find a rental instead of staying on the resort. We stumbled upon Sea Rose, and are so glad we did! It is a beautiful home - spacious with all the trimmings. The staff are precious and priceless - my kids wanted to take Adessa home with us! The food prepared was excellent - delicious and cultural. Honestly, I don't have a negative thing to say except for the construction that was being done across the street. Certainly by now it is finished, and the owners are very straight and upfront with you about anything you ask. We will definitely stay again when traveling to Jamaica!!

We enjoyed our week at Sea Rose immensely. The food and house were incredible. Adassa comes over each day to fill the house with her charm and joy and the aroma of her delicious meals featuring local cuisine and fresh fruits. Kenneth takes care of the house and grounds and stays on site at night for security purposes. We loved sleeping with the windows open and feeling the tropical breeze blow through the house. Each bedroom has a private bath, so Sea Rose is perfect for a family or three couples. Our trip was enhanced greatly by renting a car and exploring the island. I would strongly recommend this for anyone with a sense of adventure and a desire to see the real Jamaica beyond the resorts and packaged tours.

I have stayed at the SeaRose two times now, and it is absolutely wonderful. Adassa (the cook) prepares authentic Jamaican cuisine - don't forget to request the lobster (even if you do have to pay just a bit more for it, it is totally worth it)!!!!! There are endless opportunities for fun in and around Runaway Bay - just be prepared to spend some money to do them! Oh - if you're in the mood for some massages, make sure you call the number on the fridge - they'll come to the house, set up tables on the front porch, and massage away. These were stays that I will not easily forget... it is paradise!

Just Incredible, the house is gorgeous, immaculate and spacious; the house staff was wonderful, friendly and always helpful. I have very high culinary standards and Adassa, the cook, made every meal memorial. The Lobsters and other local dishes she prepared were superb. Getting picked up at the airport to the villa, the private beach, and access to all the amenities (horseback riding, jet skiing, etc) made this one of our best vacations.

The Sea Rose is a great place to hang out and relax. Beautiful villa with the best fresh, healthy, food. Adassa can make lobster dishes that you will crave when you go home and think of Jamaica. Her breakfasts are to die for. The Villa is near everything from the golf courses to Hedo III if you want to hang there for a day. I love to drink rum and put puzzles together on the front porch and then saunder off to the beach later. Don't play dominos with Kenneth (the caretaker) he will school you
