Disgusted with Better Beach Rental Services!

After 10 years of Rentals this was the WORST! We found this place on VRBO and was told to contact the agency to rent this condo. Rental was dirty! Lied to about the pool size. They stated it was big enough for all the condos and nobody uses it because half the people live there and are gone all day. WHAT? It was like sardines in a can! We called about issues in the condo on their emergency number as you are told to and guess what? No return phone calls, know one checked out anything and then they turn it around after all their EXCUSES why they didn't call, and blame you for not calling again! (We finally talked to them after we got home and called them after they couldn't find something they misplaced and asked us if we knew where it was when actually the whole time they knew they had it!) That made us feel like they were blaming us for taking something! Disgusted is how we feel! WATCH OUT! They are willing to say anything and take your money, but the service, and services you should receive are just talk. We left the message that there was..NO phone service,(just wanted to order food from local restaurants!), cable did not work, and bath fan was broke. Also, comforters were filthy, floor of showers (we wiped with a tissue) came up disgusting brown filth, microwave still sticky all over outside from last guest as well as chocolate milk spilled all over cabinets, and food lining the edges of the kitchen floor. BETTER BEACH RENTALS SHOULD BE BAD BEACH RENTALS! The Island was fun for the kids, but we'd never use this company again or stay at this condo if this is who we would have to deal with!

Owner response:We have wonderful customer service and find this review to be totally untrue. As the property owners, we were never contacted during the stay with any complaints! The property manager also was not contacted during the week with any complaints. Management went to the unit with our personal housekeeper at the time of check in and saw the unit to be in excellent condition. The tenants said everything was fine. It seems highly unusual that the following family that checked in the same afternoon had no complaints! The cable and telephone (which is a 911 only line), were both working! I personally purchased the comforter and know they were in excellent condition. The condo was very clean as are our standards. The condo was also painted in June, 2011; during one of our many inspections. We have never had a review like this and find it to be very vindictive. If these complaints were valid, we would have been contacted at the time of their stay! We hope that all our future tenants know there is customer service for them 24/7 during their stay. There is an emergency night number, which also was not contacted during the stay of the complaining tenants. We stay in the condo ourselves and have a wonderful time!! Our property management team is the best on the island and have provided excellent service for us. One bad review with absolutely no proof to back it up is certainly not an issue!! We will continue to rent our condo and take care of our customers and families as we always have! Gotta run, the beach is calling!!

This condo is wonderful. It is as close to the beach as they say and being on the top floor is great. The elevator makes things easy. The pool is very pretty and clean. The condo itself is beautiful and new. We had alot of fun on Oak Island, we will definitely go back!!

This is a very nice condo that is just as described. It's very new, is in excellent condition, and is super convenient to everything on Oak Island. Restaurants, the grocery store, shops and the beach are a very short walk. The pool is very nice too. This was a great place for our family vacation. I would definitely stay there again.
