My wife, 18mo old daughter and I stayed here for a three day weekend in January and the place was perfect. There was already a porta-crib and high chair for use and toys. That helped the packing situation a lot. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies and staples and saved us $$$ when we didn't want to go out to eat. The only way it could have been better was if the weather was a little nicer; as we didn't get to use the patio.

The apartment was ridiculously clean and Linda was wonderful in every possible way. She was available to answer questions and help me get oriented in the apartment, the neighborhood and Vancouver generally. Very nice person. She'd even prepared a book with Commercial Drive information: restaurants, banks, parks, thngs to do, etc. The apartment is right off of Commercial Drive and about a 15 minute walk, or a quick bus ride, straight down Commercial to the train. (10 minute ride to downtown Vancouver.) And, there's a Starbucks on the way to the station! The apt is well equiped with everything you need for the kitchen, all linens, soap in the bathroom, ceiling fan in the bedroom, guide books and a television. The alarm clock has an ipod docking station. There's wifi but no phone. You can get a prepaid cell at any Petro Canada station if you're coming from the U.S. and want to avoid roaming charges. Commercial drive is a great walking neighborhood with lots of places to eat, interesting shops, a library, and a park, all in walking distance. If you stay here, you won't be sorry.

Linda was wonderful to us and very helpful with a long email about what to do with kids. 4 of us stayed here and it was a great experience. The place was clean and cozy, there's grocery shopping 1 block away, coffee and restaurants everywhere and only 15 mins from Vancouver downtown. A very convenient place perfect for families. She also has a nice big TV for movies at night if you wish to watch :-)

We were looking for a place to stay that would be welcoming of our 2 year old and would be a good base to get around Vancouver - this apartment was just right. It was quiet & clean and had everything we needed. The back patio was very pleasant - our daughter wanted to see the flowers every time we went out or came back. We especially appreciated the Pack n' Play and the books and toys available. We were able to go all over Vancouver but also enjoyed going to places on Commercial Drive, just steps away. Linda was very friendly & helpful and we felt very comfortable.

Our introduction to Vancouver was very enjoyable due to Linda's accommodation in a great location on Commercial Drive. This clean, comfortable apartment had absolutely everything that we needed and was a great base for getting around Vancouver. Thanks, Linda, for all the detailed information that was so helpful to us.

As my partner and I were relocating from Australia, we wanted to make sure that we had the most hassle & stress-free move possible - and this place definitely did NOT disappoint! From the moment we contacted the owner, to the day we checked out, we were greeted with such friendly service, even above and beyond our own expectations. Linda (the owner) helped give us information about anything & everything - including directions from the airport, all the different neighbouring areas, ski resorts, restaurants, where to rent a car, you name it - she was there to help us! Then after we arrived, we had everything we needed - from all the appliances, pots & pans, to wireless internet and wso many channels on cable tv that we couldn’t even count (it was like we were in our home!). And it suited us perfectly, as we could cook, yet be within a 2 minute walk of so many restaurants! The location was also ideal for us because we were in a 1 minute walk to the bus stop (you can buy a book of 10 tickets for $21 - with each ticket lasting 1.5hrs) and then we'd hop on one bus to Downtown or to the Sky Train Station. We also loved that the price included everything (no hidden charges like so many other places we enquired about), so we knew what to budget. Having a great place to stay has certainly made it an easy transition for us to Vancouver and an enjoyable stay so far and we thank Linda for making it so easy because we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you again, we will def recommend this to our family and friends that come to visit Vancouver!

We loved staying at your place. It was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the neighborhood park and we had a hard time figuring out where to eat each day as there were so many choices! The cable TV was great for movies at night, kids shows and music. Linda gave us all the info we would need about places to go in the city. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed 5 nights at the end of August and found everything we needed within walking distance. It was also central to attractions. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Lots of useful information was provided on the area. There's lots to see and do

We came to Vancouver from Tucson, Arizona for a short visit. This was the perfect apartment for our family. We could walk down The Drive for any type of food, transportation was very accessible and the apartment was comfortable. It had everything we needed. We would recommend it to anyone.

Just want to say a big 'thank you' for everything. We enjoyed our stay at Urban Garden. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Even though it was located 1 minute from the Drive, which made it very convenient with regards to eating and getting to downtown, it was very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place to friends who want the best of both worlds. You, as a host, have been so helpful, warm and welcoming even before we arrived.

Loved staying at the apartment so much I've come back three years running. The apartment is immaculate and well equipped. Enjoyed my morning breakfast on the outdoor, sunny patio. Great location - very easy to get around to the tourist spots in Vancouver. The Commercial Drive area is fun and vibrant. The apartment is an oasis in the heart of the city.

The place was very clean and nice. I immediately felt at home when I walked through the door. It's very close to the very active commercial drive but you won't hear the noise from the suite. It's a very quiet neighborhood. I can't stress enough how pleasant it is working with Linda. She's extremely nice and helpful. It was my first time taking a trip alone and renting from a stranger but speaking to her put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this place to others who want a nice place to return to after exploring Vancouver.

t was really nice to come into the apartment the first time. The place was clean & neat & felt like home the moment we opened the door. The location is great - quiet enough to get a good rest but close enough to transit to get where you want to go. A great location for anyone who needs to gain access to the city. We're glad the travel agent recommended vrbo and especially happy for the welcome and assistance that Linda provided on our trip.

We stayed four nights with two kids and had a wonderful time. The apartment is tastefully furnished and had everything we needed. It is located in a great urban neighborhood with beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture, towering trees and flowers blooming. The apartment is close to and yet secluded from a fascinating stretch of shops, bars, fruit markets, restaurants and coffeehouses. The buildings are human scale and the streetlife very interesting and diverse. A bit of a counterculture time warp. Jugglers, dancers, saxophonists. Old men gathered over cappuccinos. One early morning a baker tossed me a warm loaf of bread out a second-story window. This place is something special.

The apartment is fantastic. I booked the apartment for my father who was visiting us from the UK. He loved the apartment and location so much that he will be staying there again next year. The apartment is beautifully furnished with quality sheets and towels. Everything was immaculate. The private patio was a great place to have his morning cup of tea. We love the Commercial Drive area and so does my father. The apartment is located just steps from great coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, funky shops, and parks. With the bus around the corner and the Skytrain a short walk, he was able to do some sightseeing on his own.

Fantastic location and amazing facilities with everything you could possibly need during your stay provided. The apartment itself is cozy and quiet, however its only footsteps away from commercial drive so all the entertainment and amenities are just around the corner. Commercial drive is a very diverse and friendly neighborhood offering a huge range of places to eat and drink, however should you wish to go downtown the transit links are only a short walk from the apartment. I loved the place so much what was originally supposed to be a stay of only a couple of weeks turned out to be eight months. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

The entire Web site description was very helpful - of the apartment and neighborhood. The pictures of the apartment, very thorough. Very cozy for a couple, clean, patio Adirondack chairs and garden were great for a mornining coffee and read, on a good weather day. We loved the location - "The Drive" turned out to be a fantastic place to discover food, fun and music! Easy access to the greater Vancouver area via bus and train encouraged us to get out there!!! Thanks so much for making our Vancouver stay really fun.

Great apartment in a great area. It was tastefully furnished, bright, comfortable, and spotless. The patio doors look out onto a private garden area that was a great place to relax. The Commercial Drive area is the best kept secret in Vancouver. I particularly enjoyed trying out the restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Cuban, Caribbean, Thai, Portugese) and coming across jam sessions of music in the local park. The apartment is handy to public transit so I could be downtown in less than 20 minutes. By staying on The Drive I got to see and experience the real Vancouver.

We did so much enjoy our time at the apartment. The close proximity to downtown Vancouver, without being within the concrete jungle, was excellent. Public transport was a joy what with buses, Skytrain and Seabus all interconnected and cheap. We found Commercial Drive so diverse, especially with the countless choices of coffee shops, bars, restaurants and funky shops within a few steps of our accommodation. While at the apartment we enjoyed walking around the neighbouring streets with their interesting houses and varied people. The apartment itself was very modern, warm, cosy, clean and safe. Linda made us very welcome and was extremely helpful with local information, especially Commercial Drive activities. The wireless internet access made keeping in touch easy and snuggling up on the couch in front of the cable TV was bliss after a long day of touristy pursuits. The apartment was a 'home away from home' and we found it the best of our accommodation experiences in Canada.
