When you arrive at the Little Lakeview Lodge, you are transported to yesteryear. Once in the door, the illusion continues. Rich, spruce log adorns the walls, while the barn plank floor arrests your view and draws you to the back deck with its Lake Views and Tall Pines. The inviting mountain decor includes sumptuous bedding, and leather couches and a large dining table where everyone can gather. Each bedroom invites you to settle in, read a book, take a nap and dream of simpler times.
It's all an illusion though as the Little Lakeview Lodge boasts modern features to comfort and care for you. Invisible is the tank-less water heater that provides endless showers. The huge kitchen with-a-view boasts granite counters, granite composite sink and brand new high-end appliances. This is a cooks cabin complete with food processor, griddle, spice rack, pizza stone, bread machine and more.

This cabin is perfect: quiet, clean, tastefully decorated, intelligently furnished. Kitchen has everything you would expect in your own home, including cookie sheet! The view is gorgeous. Short stroll to the marina for water activities, and yet a very secluded, private feel. If out in the heat of day, try renting a pontoon boat that provides shade while you explore the lake. Perfect experience. Go out early in the day or later in the afternoon for kayaking, canoeing, and other activities. If you feel a need to re-energize, trying throwing yourself into the water. Wow! The neighborhood is wonderful to take walks in (we stayed in mid-June). Streets are lined with tall pine trees, and birds and chipmunks punctuate your walk. I imagine it also would be perfect for biking in the neighborhood, and I would bring a bike next time. New wooden benches and table are out on the deck, much nicer than what is shown in the pictures. We enjoyed a great BBQ lunch with friends out there. We drove up several times to hike and only had to drive a few twists and turns before we were well on our way up the mountain towards our favorite trails. Champion Lodge Pole Pine trail is one of our favorites. Leave early in the morning and hike in the cool fresh air. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Big Bear. I will recommend this cabin to all my friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you so much! It is so wonderful to know that guests are having the experience we strive for. Our goal for the cabin is for our guests to feel like they are in a magical home away from home with the comforts they desire. We have over time added the things we would want if we were visiting this mountain paradise with an emphasis on delivering the feeling of being in the mountains...somewhere truly special.

This is our 3rd time staying at this amazing cabin. We absolutely love everything about it and look forward to each 1st week of March when we get to return. We arrived this year to find a great new natural gas BBQ on the deck and grilled a few meals while enjoying the views of the lake. We didn't have as much snow around the cabin as years past, but had plenty to keep us busy. We enjoyed many of the extras that the cabin provides, such as foosball games, a variety of video games as well as a few newer DVD releases. There was still time to get in 2 full days on the local ski slopes as well as a dining recommendation to the Cowboy Express Steakhouse in town. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a little mountain luxury. Thanks again for a wonderful getaway.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I needed a clean, comfortable get-a-way and we were not disappointed. Tim and Karen have a beautiful cabin. All the supplies you need are there. Our 2 dogs felt very welcome. On arrival there were dog treats and bowls for them. Highly recommended. We will be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was our 2nd time renting this awesome cabin for our annual 1st weekend of March ski trip. We just love the location, the upscale amenities and the many extras. There are video games for kids young & old, every kitchen utensil/appliance that you could need or dream up, saucers for sledding, numerous cable channels for watching, foosball table for challenges, a wonderful deck for enjoying the lake view, a great fireplace for cold or snowy nights, super comfy beds to catch some zzzz's and a great dog run if your 4-legged friend has accompanied you on your stay. The cabin in exceptionally clean and the owners are just a phone call away if you have any question that was unanswered in your welcome package. I highly recommend this property !! ...Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

A well-appointed, yet cozy, cabin close to big bear lake shops and skiing. Our three young children loved the sledding hill which slopes down from just outside the front door. The owners obviously take pride in providing a clean environment stocked with all the necessary items for a very comfortable getaway. We would definitely return to this property in the future and recommend it to friends.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We moved to Big Bear in 1999 having always rented a small cabin to stay in at Christmas. We learned a lot about what makes a great rental and have tried to incorporate it into this one.
Why the Owner Chose Other Big Bear Lake Properties:
We always walked our dog on this street and were waiting for a cabin to come available, thinking it was just the perfect place for a great vacation rental. We completely remodeled it with all new dual glazed windows & insulation, wiring, plumbing, tankless water heater, kitchen, siding, and paved parking.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The proximity to the lake is a big plus, and the gently sloping back yard and street-to-street lot make for great sledding in the winter.
