We call this lovely studio "The refuge of the Imp". It has an official 3 star rating by the regional tourist office.
Imps are very popular in the Alsatian mythology. They are wise and intelligent. They bring luck and happiness. "The refuge of the Imp" is the smallest of our 3 luxury apartments in the fascinating medieval city of Riquewihr. Every square inch was carefully considered when we made the plans for restoration and decoration of this very charming studio. The purpose is to offer great comfort and pleasure for a budget affordable by any traveller.

Our romantic half-timbered house (where the studio is located) was built on the rampart of the year 1500. This is indeed one of the finest places to stay in Alsace and we would be delighted to welcome you there. Registered with the inventory of the French national Heritage buildings, our properties just came out of a full restoration.

For a very reasonable tariff (even with an unfavorable exchange rate!), you will have - although on a small surface - a superbly arranged accommodation within a historical framework of great character. In short, a very comfortable and pleasant accommodation worthy of the best places.

On the mountainside, the medieval rampart builds the western wall of the house. On the street side, it is an Alsatian traditional timber framed house. The studio, as well as all our apartments, is decorated with great care and especially equipped for couples which seek holidays or a long weekend on the wine trail of Alsace.

The studio is equipped with a large Queen size double bed (160 x 200 cm) and a private bathroom (shower). A surprisingly well-equipped little kitchen corner and as well as a dining corner allow good self catering accommodation. This kitchen/dining area makes it possible to be perfectly autonomous. But do not forget that the many ones and excellent restaurants of the village (some listed in the Michelin Red Guide) are only a couple of yards away.

Our philosophy is to use the traditional techniques as well as healthy materials (almost no chemicals, natural paintings with lime wash). Authentic polychrome pieces of furniture and fabrics in Alsatian kelsch contribute to make our apartments real jewels. The studio combines charm and comfort and is able to allure - Summer as Winter - those which appreciate and privilege before all the refined and authentic places.

Alsace means romance and discovery in any season! Riquewihr is for sure one of the most beautiful villages in France. We offer you a rare opportunity. Riquewihr, a colourful village out of a fairy tale, hides in a small valley at the foot of the Vosges Mountains, on the wine trail of Alsace, hardly a dozen kilometres from Colmar. In Riquewihr you are in the middle of this so picturesque Alsace of the picture books.

Since centuries, Riquewihr produces some of the most beautiful wines of Alsace and the world. A nature superbly made up of vineyards and wooded mountains is protecting this exceptional jewel which is Riquewihr, incontestably the pearl of the Alsatian vineyard and one of the most visited and most beautiful villages in France.

Rmk: high season in Riquewihr is from Easter to November 11 and again from November 27 to January 5 for the Christmas celebrations.
