The Kapalo (pronounced KAY-pah-low) lake home retreat was inspired by the spirit of nature and created for your peace of mind. Come here for a feeling of peace and relaxation, with all the comforts of home. This generous lake home was designed as a place for you and yours to get away from everything and simply regroup. It's a place to relax and commune with nature and each other, with the allure of a tranquil lake.
The Kapalo lake retreat is located on Lake Ida. This grand lake is about 4,200 acres in size, 105 feet at its deepest, with water clarity of up to a depth of 20 feet. The Kapalo site has 100 feet of lake frontage that includes a patio and dock. Plenty of sunfish beckon you to fish off the dock, or try your hand at a bigger catch, like the walleye and bass that reel anglers in for contests on Lake Ida.
Fun on the Lake doesn't stop at fishing! Enjoy swimming, kayaking, and boating. Four kayaks are provided for occupants' use. Dock your own boat at Kapalo via public landing access just three blocks from the lake home. No boat? No problem! The Alexandria area offers "Fun Rentals" where you can rent personal watercraft and boats. Also, find scuba and diving equipment at the Diver's Clubhouse, complete with any lessons you need!
Besides lake activities, you have endless choices available to you throughout your stay. Contact the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce for a full listing of special event dates. The region boasts several artistic, cultural and natural attractions.

This cabin was the PERFECT spot for 10 girlfriends to stay. It's spacious, very clean and cozy feeling, and the beds were comfy. They even had little baskets with extra toiletries if anyone needed them. The kitchen is perfect for cooking large meals. The owners were really lovely people, and so helpful during our stay. We had some winter weather move in, and they were so attentive and wonderful! It was also very close to the Carlos Creek winery, which is very necessary stop for anyone going through this area. I would stay here again for a similar occasion in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Rates
Rental is by week only Saturday to Saturday $2500(6 guests) More than six guests for any rental: additional $100/person/rental. Separate guesthouse is also available for parties of two for $120/night. Minimum stay in June, July, and August is 1 week. Minimum stay any other month is 7 days.
