We spent 10 days at the Waikiki Banyan and enjoyed every minute. The location and services provided suited my entire family. We particularly enjoyed the short walk to the beach and the activities floor; with the basketball, tennis and BBQ's.

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

First BIG Family Vacation

It was my families first really big vacation together. We are a family of 3 (mom, dad, 4 year old daughter). We found the Banyan great...awesome is better. When we arrived on the island I contacted the owners for instructions on how to get in to the condo. We were answered promptly and kindly. When we couldn't figure out the TV, then how to hook-up the internet, BOTH calls were never felt like we were interupting something else. Everyone was kind and extremely helpful. We found the condo great. We weren't too sure what we were getting in to considering we've never done this before. Even friends who came by (who were also staying at the Banyan) said our place was way nicer...modern, renovated, trendy! The kitchen, bedroom, living room area was fabulous. The bathroom is good. The shower was really the only part that might not have been updated, but really it wasn't like we sat around in there. It was clean and sufficient for us. We loved the leisure deck, the proximity to the beach, the shopping, the restaurants, the quick run to the local ABC store (that we went to daily), the Banyan staff...all super! We hope to go again in a couple of years and will hope to get this location again. I felt safe at the Banyan since someone seemed to always be at the front desk. It was great to have a little coffee shop downstairs. It was great to have little beach things ready for us to use, since our daughter couldn't get enough of the beach. Next time visitors will love the toys and the handy thermos bag to take to the beach. I would highly suggest the condo we stayed at...like I said, other people at the Banyan came to us and were completely impressed as well and they are frequent Hawaii travellers. For our first big family vacation, it was unreal. We didn't want to leave!

Great family condos with spectacular views

Have been staying in the Banyan for over 20 years, and with Suzanne and Chelsea, for the last 5. Always a great stay, never dissappointed. Views from the penthouses are fantastic, and the building amenities are awesome. Suzanne and Chelsea have always been very accomodating, and we have never had a bad experience, which is why we return every year. Thanks ladies.

We rented this Condo in February 2010 and were very pleased with it. The views were spectacular! The furnishings and decor were lovely. The place was very clean, and well cared for, which was very refreshing, after previous experiences we have had renting. The location is perfect, so handy to the bus, the beach and everything. The Rental Agent couldn't have been nicer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We love the space, the great view, the comfortable bed, the cleanliness and the extras, such as TV, books, wi-fi, etc We plan to return. The location is great for being on the beach, but not crowded on the street. Also near the zoo for the grandkids.

The perfect romantic place to visit!

Me and my husband spent our honeymoon at this wonderful penthouse. It has a perfect location, walking to town and to the famouse Waiikii Beach. We did not even have a rental car. Everything was clean and the penthouse had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We highly recommed this penthouse for a great , relaxing , romantic stay. Disappointing

I have stayed at the Banyan before and thought I'd try out a "penthouse". There really was'nt anything special about the unit; average furniture, in need of some updating, but definately needing a different cleaning company!!! Lots of black hair( I have short blonde hair) throughout unit, floors, bathroom and even in the bedding. Additionally the overall cleaning was not good.The air conditioner moved slightly cooler air but did not really change the temperature of the unit and the Wi-Fi didn't work. When I spoke to the owner I was shocked that she argued about some of the issues and was in general not too responsive. She did offer to have cleaners to come again, but by then I had already cleaned and as it was my "quiet alone time" for a week and I really didn't want the interruption. Never again...and definately would not recommend.. In the end she did offer a discount for my next stay and refunded some of the cleaning charge...
