  My family of three Dad, stepmom and myself stayed in early February. I have rented many times thru VBRO and Juan was excellent to deal with thru the booking process and when we arrived. Juan came on the first evening to replace the patio screen door. We arrived during the day and found the condo easily. The condo pictures are accurate but I found the kitchen and bathroom which had been renovated were lovely but the living room furniture very worn. The king bed was rock hard and the sheets continually slipped off. Having the lanai with comfortable furniture and overlooking the green space was a treat and we enjoyed our meals each day out there. Lot's of beach toys available and an easy 5 minute walk to the beach.

  We stayed in this condo during February 2013 for two weeks. The rate was very reasonable and staying for 14 days even netted us a discount! The directions we were given to the condo were easy to navigate and we found it (after a long day of travel) with no problems. There were four in our group, 2 adults, 2 kids. So the layout of bedrooms was ideal for us. I think it would be squishy with more than 4 people, but you spend so much time enjoying Maui's natural beauty, that space inside becomes less important. This was our first VRBO rental and Juan was very helpful with the paperwork and procedures, which made life much easier for us. As a family with kids, the kitchen and the washer/dryer were probably our favorite features of this condo :) We saved a lot of money by doing some meals at home and certainly made use of the washer & dryer after days at the beach. The kids made lots of new friends in the condo complex as there were always people coming and going. We didn't use the pool much as the kids thought it was too cold (but they'll swim in the ocean - go figure!) The location was away from the resort community hustle & bustle, but still close enough to hit the beaches and shops within a few minutes. There is a farmers market close by that we frequented too. Being there in rainy season, we found that the Kahana area is on the rainy side of the line LOL! It certainly didn't hamper our enjoyment of the location, but we often found that a quick drive east (3-5 minutes) would get us out of the rain. Not sure if that was just luck, or if it truly does rain more there. Either way, the warm Maui rain is not a drawback for me! Look through the listing and pictures, they are very representative of what to expect with this rental. Would we rent here again, or recommend it to friends - Absolutely! Mahalo for a wonderful vacation experience!

  The location of the condo was perfect, working with Juan was easy, the outside sign for the condo property entrance really needs a light, it was nighttime and raining when we arrived and passed it several times before we finally found it.The condo itself needs some upgrading, the two single beds in the one room if they were two double or full would have been perfect. The hideabed in the living room is very worn and had several springs missing, the king bed in the master room as well as the bedding really needs replaced. But the condo was nice, clean and had everything we needed. Loved that there were beach chairs and coolers to use. Would recommend the place for not as many people...

  Had a great time in the condo. The neighbors were quiet and grounds were very well-kept. But there were lots of (friendly) cats living in the area, so watch your step when exploring the greens. All was found just as described and Juan was very responsive. I'd recommend again.

  Everything was as advertised. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The closet on the lanai had all the beach toys and gear we needed for fun filled days at the beach. Juan was extremely easy to work with and communicated very well on any questions we had. We visited many of the beaches during our stay. The location of the condo was great for us. It was within easy distance of all the beaches, shopping and restaurants. We had 5 people in the condo, 2 adults and 3 kids, and the space was perfect. We loved that the condo was in a quiet, more personal location, versus a huge high rise with hundreds of other people.

  The condo was as listed. Lovely kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you might need. Very clean and well maintained grounds. The cupboard full of beach gear was a nice bonus. Only con was the door was tricky to lock. Ask ahead of time what the trick is. A couple good restaurants within easy walking distance. Beach just across the road.

  We finally made it after missing two flights and one missed connection. Juan was very accommodating and allowed us to extending our stay after missing the first 3 nights. We really enjoyed the condo. We stayed 10 days, and it was nice to have the 2nd bedroom for the kids. There are two beds in the 2nd bedroom which was great, the kids loved to sleep in the same room. We had no problems with the condo, it was very comfortable and we loved the location. This was our first experience in Maui and I didn't want to stay at a large resort. Each day we tried to spending morning doing something (Aquarium, Waterfalls, Lahiana, etc , and then the afternoon and late evening at the beach. If I could do it all over again, I think I would skip everything and just stay at the beach. It the morning we would walk about 5 minutes down the road to the beach that was accessed through the Royal Kahana. A little bit further down the road we would stop at the park (can't remember the name) and watch the sea turtles come up on the rocks (we would be there by about 7:45am). We spent most of our beach time at "baby beach", we found easy access (turn right at the sign that says Maui Community College." It was about a ten minute drive from the condo. There are beaches closer, but we really enjoyed baby beach only because it was very shallow and quite. Our kids loved the grounds surrounding the condo - and spent each morning running around. We found huge snails and amazing geckos. The condo is also located next two a few restaurants in walking distance, we tried the Pizza place which was good. There is also a gas station and convenience store very close with a Red Box which we utilized. I would recommend this place, and would love to come and stay again. It was great for a family with two small kids (2 and 4) and it was a short drive to everything we wanted to see.

  Based on receiving the super saver, last minute rate, I'd say this was an excellent value.  A tad small but hey it's an island and we were out most of the time.  We stayed during the hottest part of summer, August,  and found the condo to be cool and comfortable.  The bedrooms have AC but really, you wont need it because the ceiling fans have three speeds.  The bed was good.  The condo's best feature (in my opinion) is that it's a ground floor condo in a "locals" community so you have more of an "at home feel".  My granddaughters spent a couple nights with us and little amenities like the pool toys and toddler step stool (for reaching the bathroom sink) really made the visit easier!  I might suggest adding a kids folding  table and chairs for convenience and  their dining comfort.  There was plenty of room outside for the girls to run and play right off the lanai so they didn't feel confined while staying there with us.  The other neighbor children were friendly, as were the other residents.  Hawaii law does not permit smoking on your lanai in tourist/resort type condo's.  We have stayed at many such places where smoking is banished to a distant (sometimes not well kept area) of the grounds.  It was so NICE to simply close the sliding door and enjoy the lanai instead!! We did have a couple condo "issues" come up but Juan was great to get them handled so they aren't worth mentioning. I might add that he was also prompt in refunding our security deposit. Another review mentioned the dining table was to big for the lanai but I think I preferred having a larger table. The front entry has a metal screen door (essential for cross ventilation) however, it does not lock. Even though Kahana is certainly a safe area, I would have felt more comfortable being able to lock the door at night. We would definitely stay here again!

  We have stayed in various places on Maui and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the Pohailani condo complex. The unit was well equipped, fully remodeled kitchen, AC in the bedrooms which wasn't needed, and a nice unit to relax in. It was a easy rental transaction and the rental mgr Juan was very responsive. The location in Kahana is away from the hustle & bustle of Kaanapali and well situated. There is Maui coffee roasters around the corner, farmer market down the road, Ohana Tacos, Fish market (great fresh fish sandwiches, the best!), beach side bar across the road at Sands of Kahana condos. North Kaanapali beach is 5 min. south (great swimming beach), 5 min north are slaughterhouse beach & Fleming for boogie boarding (high strong surf in winter). Kapaula resort has a great ocean beach trail along the coast. We always rent a condo because they are much better option than hotel and would rent again. Rent with confidence and have a great vacation.

  This is a wonderfully restful condo close to the "action" yet in a quiet location. The condo was clean and up to date with comfortable sleeping for our family of four. I would definitely recommend this condo to a family looking for a place to come home to after being out sightseeing all day.
