This is your chance to finally live in a log cabin for a week or more! This is an authentic log cabin made with full cedar logs and chinking, that is over 90 years old. Three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (master suite upstairs) will have you tucked away in a lakefront and wooded property.
Quaint, beautiful, a home away from home, this log cabin captures the essence of time gone by when things were simple, and makes a perfect weekend or vacation retreat. This home has original cedar logs, and is not a prefab log cabin. One bathroom is original, the other bathroom is more modern To change the original bathroom on the first floor would ruin the charm of this home. You'll love the art deco feel of the original bathroom!
The log cabin is completely turnkey, meaning, everything is there to make your stay comfortable with no fuss. Linens, comforters, pillows, utensils, cookware, dishes, and towels are all included. The house boasts a full kitchen with plenty of counterspace, and updated appliances. There is an adjacent room next to the master suite upstairs, and guests are free to bring a crib or air mattress with them, to sleep a few extra people.
The home sits on a half acre parcel, there is plenty of parking on site, and the house boasts 169 feet of waterfrontage, where your whole family can capture everlasting memories. The house is beautiful during every season: spring flowers will be budding and the birds will be chirping, summer will bring plenty of swimming in the lake and canoeing, fall will have lovely foliage and crisp fall air, while the winter months will have you enjoying the stone hearth and fireplace, and snow-topped trees along the lake.
There is a nearby beach on the lake, as well as an on site dock for launching of canoes (one is available for use from our dock) and kayaks if you wish to bring one (no motor boats). The house has been totally modernized for living in the 21st century, and has central air conditioning and central heat. We have had repeat visitors to the home, as each season brings something special to this quaint log cabin. During the winter months, you'll be delighted with the easy to use natural gas fireplace, simply turn the on button, and the living room with have ambiance, warmth, and romance. The cabin is simply gorgeous when there are snowtopped trees and a little ice on the lake. Be sure to book in advance for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The house boasts a lodge room with 17 foot high ceilings with a stone fireplace, and the master suite with a Kohler jacuzzi is located on the second floor. There is a 2 car garage as well as parking for 8 or more cars in the circular driveway, if you wish to entertain. It's the perfect spot for a summer vacation, to relax and unwind from the busy stresses of city life. During fall and winter, enjoy the gas fireplace to keep you warm and cozy, the treetops look beautiful with snow. Many guests stay here while visiting family nearby for the winter holidays.
The lakes region of Medford, New Jersey is centrally located to many popular day trip destinations. You're only 15 minutes away from the infamous golf course, Pine Valley. You are just 30 minutes away from Philadelphia, where you can sightsee and visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, view the statue of William Penn, run up the infamous steps to the Art Museum that Rocky Balboa ran on, and take a horse carriage ride down the historic cobblestoned streets of Philadelphia and even visit the home of Betsy Ross. The theatre and nightlife in Philadelphia is incredible, be sure to visit the Rodin Museum and the Franklin Institute, which is running the LAST U.S. tour of King Tutankhamun's artifacts through September.
Southern New Jersey is also close to the many beaches along the coast, many of which have boardwalks and amusement parks for the children. Or, just take a short drive to the many farms in the summer to pick fresh strawberries, raspberries, peaches, and blueberries. Depending on the time of year, there may be craft fairs and festivals featuring the fruits grown in the "garden state." Come in the fall and visit Chatworth's famous Cranberry Festival. There are many Christmas bazaars and fairs before the holidays as well.
The casinos in Atlantic City are only an hour drive away and feature 5 star dining. Or, soak up the warm sun, the surf of the Atlantic Ocean, do some boating, surfing, or antiquing along the coast--there is something for everyone in Jersey. You can certainly just walk 2 minutes away and get exceptional cuisine at the 5 star restaurant called Beau Rivage on the opposite side of the lake that this house sits on.
