When we planned a golf outing for several couples I decided to see if a VRBO rental would be available as opposed to a hotel. I found the "Ranch"and thought it would be perfect. 4 Bedrooms all with queen beds, up on a hill, out in the country and not far from Paso Robles. The place more than met our expectations. We found nice, informative owners, a well kept and fully equipped home with marvelous views of the area. We were lucky enough to have a full moon and beautiful weather. We had some of the of the other golfers over for dinner and had no problem cooking for the group in the large, well equipped kitchen. One of the couples had a six year old and he loved the pool, the open environment and the various animals kept in the pens and fields on the Ranch. Joanie, the owner, surprised us with eggs from their chickens. What a treat! I would highly recommend the Cripple Creek Ranch for anyone wanting to get away. One could just hang out there, visit the many wineries nearby and/or go into town as desired. We will be back.

We arrived with a party of 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids) to this wonderful perch high on the hill above wine and horse country in Paso Robles. The house was a delight and easily accommodated and entertained the group. The pool and jacuzzi were well used. The animal life (horses, sheep, llamas, turkeys, rabbits, ducks, chickens, etc) was not only entertaining but a great consumer of all things compostable. The views out all the windows were a gift. We highly recommend this as a place to gather family and friends.

we absolutely loved cripple creek mountain ranch - a beautiful farm house with cool animals all around - when you are standing on the property - you feel like you are on the top of the world - 360 degree views all around - great wineries are ever so close - beautiful photos abound - our party of eight had a delightful trip and would recommend it to anyone - comfy beds - great kitchen for cooking - pool and hot tub - and stars for miles - and a rooster to wake you up bright and early - you will enjoy your stay! - thanks joe and joanie!

Amazing stay at an amazing house!

The pictures don't do this farmhouse justice! We had the fortune of staying at Cripple Creek over New Year's weekend and it was impeccably decorated for the holidays. The house was larger and nicer than the pictures let on. In addition, Joanie, the owner, was superb! From the start she was quick to answer questions, offer information and make sure we were taken care of. Our crew was four couples, three singles and one black lab and we were all very comfortable in the house. We spent most of our non-wine-tasting hours in the kitchen enjoying the sweeping views and taking turns cooking meals. When we weren't in the house, we were hanging out on the patio, soaking in the hot tub or strolling through the grounds to say "hi" to the animals. It was the perfect way to spend the holiday with friends.

Cripple Creek Thanksgiving

Our family of six spent a marvelous Thanksgiving holiday at Cripple Creek Ranch. The ranch house is spacious and clean; the kitchen was perfect for all of us to congregate and cook, and we loved communing with the ranch animals. The owners are friendly and helpful. We harvested the last of their tomatoes and basil and thoroughly enjoyed the mason jar wine from their harvest. Highly recommend Cripple Creek Ranch for a family gathering.

I rented the ranch for my husband's birthday. Ten of us stayed for the weekend and it was amazing! The property is beautiful (it rained most of the time, but the whole place is so beautiful, the weather didn't matter), it's a great size for a large group, very kid friendly, and the owner was so nice. The house is incredibly charming and comfortable. Overall, we had a great, great, great experience. We are definitely staying here again.

The house and area was lovely and just perfect for my whole family to spend time together. There are plenty of common areas as well as areas to get away from everyone. The House was clean and comfortable and the views were wonderful as well.

Cripple Creek Mountain Ranch - An WONDERFUL experience!

My husband and I coordinate a weekend wine tasting trip every year in October. We all just love Paso Robles and have come here about 4 times now. For the past 2 years we have rented another property listed on VRBO, but this year I wanted to look for a new place because last year the place just seemed dirty, depite the hefty cleaning fee. Joanie, owner of Cripple Creek Ranch was wonderful to deal with from the very beginning. We just returned from our trip and were super happy with our stay at the ranch. It was very clean and spacious and accomodated 8 adults very comfortably. We liked how spread out it was and could see it being very ideal for kids, with several different rooms and lots of space to run around. Although it was never important before to have a pool or jacuzzi, it really made our trip FUN! We also loved the gardens and animals. Again, these are things that we never considered a must for this kind of trip, but it just made it extra special. The large, spacious kitchen was great - the large table made it easy for everyone to play cards and eat together. (We cooked one night - we were inspired by all the beautiful home grown tomatoes and basil that we HAD to sample.) Our friends brought the game corn hole, which we had plenty of room to play on the lush, green grass. The property could have easily accomodated 1 or 2 more couples. Clearly, the owners take very good care of the place - everything was spotless and well maintained, nothing seemed old and outdated, which is sometimes the case with rental properties. We are already planning to stay here again when we return in a year and several of our friends (and we agree) mentioned they would enjoy staying here with their kids, as there is so much to do and see without ever leaving the property. I would definitely recommend this place to several different types of travelers and look forward to staying here again.

We just spent the most enjoyable weekend at the Cripple Creek Mountain Ranch. The home and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The owners Joe and Joanie were wonderful and made sure our stay was perfect. Every room in the ranch house is so well decorated. The kitchen is huge!!!! Perfect for family gatherings. Each bedroom is large and the master bedroom is fantastic. .Another highlight of the ranch is all the animals. This is one of the best weekends we have had in Paso Robles. Wonderfully Accommodating Family Vacation Home

Our stay at Tripple Creek Ranch was wonderful. We visited with 10 family memebers(4 of which were kids). The drive up the hill to the ranch was beautiful at 5:00 on a summer afternoon. The property was very family and kid friendly. We all loved waking up to feed the chickens our scraps from breakfast, taking a walk down the hill to see & pet the horses, and to spend time in the pool and jacuzzi. The pool was not heated and was a bit cold but it was nice to have the jacuzzi to use. The owners were very friendly & fixed problems when they arose very quickly(coffee maker broke-we had a new one that afternoon). They always made us feel like it was our place. The view's from the house were spectacular. The house itself was very country/western-ish. It was nice that the property was pet friendly so we could bring our 2 family dogs along. They had a blast running around the farm as well. We would definitly recommend this property to friends and would love to plan another trip to Tripple Creek Ranch in the future. Downtown Paso Robles was not a far drive and the wine country was great to explore.

Our group of 11 stayed at the Cripple Creek Ranch for a long weekend at the end of April. Very comfortable, very clean, lots of flowers, lots of space for everyone to stretch out and relax. Nearly 360 views were great. The 10-15 minute drive into Paso Robles was easy. We'll come back!

A great getaway

My friends and I just returned from a 2 day getaway to Paso Robles where we stayed in this fantastic vacation home. The inside of the house was adorably decorated with antiques and a Western decor and the rooms were clean and cozy. The property is covered with hand crafted and cleverly designed structures housing sheep, horses, donkeys, egg laying chickens, roosters, kittens, dogs, bunnies, a duck, and a lama. All of the animals are extremely friendly and out there for guests to interact with if they want. The location of the house is perfect for taking a stroll down the hill to see the lay of the land and all the neigboring farms and vineyards. It is also a short drive from some great wineries. I highly recommend this vacation home for families and groups of friends who want to get away and be fully entertained by their surroundings.

This is a beautiful ranch located in Paso's wine country. The house was large and with fantastic views of the nearby vineyards. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. It's in an ideal location for wine tasting, with several wineries nearby. It's a very pet friendly place. The pool is great for warm summer days. The grounds are nicely kept up. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to friends and family.

I have stayed at Cripple Creek Mountain ranch a couple of times. I have to say I would never stay anywhere else when I visit beautiful Paso Robles. The house sits on top of a hill which allows for 360 degree views. You can watch the beautiful sun rises and sit outside in the evening to watch the spectacular sun sets. I have two children and they talk about this retreat all the time. There is always something for them to do. They can enjoy swimming in the pool, to playing in the yard to watching the many animals. The kitchen is well done and beautiful and looks into the family room which is equipped with a huge firepleace and allows for a great family gathering spot. The house is close to an array of wineries that are not only beautiful but fun to visit. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some R&R, great family time or a girls getaway.

Fantastic Family Reunion Spot!

We just spent Thanksgiving at Cripple Creek Mountain Ranch. With family from San Diego, LA, and San Francisco, it was a great spot for meeting in the middle. [It is about 10 miles east of Highway 101-- but don't trust your GPS if you don't have a new car. Get directions from Joanie.] The property was just as advertised, and it felt like we were staying in a real home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen/living space was the best part-- amazing views of the valley and open access between the kitchen and family room to allow great interactions during cooking and relaxing. There are several areas for activities including a large (altho older) projection TV in the den with a huge selection of movies, as well as an enormous flat screen TV in the family room that was great for watching Thanksgiving football while we cooked. The grounds are beautiful, and the animals were a great bonus for our kids, who eagerly explored the varioius cages with chickens, horses, sheep, and even a llama. While it was too cold for swimming, there is an amazing pool overlooking the valley and a great patio area which we did use for a Friday BBQ. We also played a lot of baseball on the lawn. While the owners do stay on the property in order to tend to the animals, they left us totally to ourselves and waited for us to come to them for questions. We will definitely have more reunions here!

I’ve stayed at this beautiful property a couple of times now and I absolutely love it there! The first stay was for a bachelorette party. We had a group of 8 girls and it was perfect house for us. Everyone had a blast! There is plenty of space for large groups and the rooms are really cute and cozy. We used the pool everyday and the hot tub every night. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the location is ideal! The property is located in the heart of the wine country. We had a blast wine tasting and there are tons of amazing wineries in close proximity to the ranch. The second stay was for a family gathering and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The kitchen is the perfect gathering place. It’s very beautiful and spacious with lots of windows so that everyone could enjoy the views. The kids loved all the animals on the property and of course they couldn’t get enough of the pool. The owners are great and extremely friendly. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation rental in the heart of the wine country. It’s perfect for a quite getaway or for a large gathering.

Lovely place! The owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to make my stay worthwhile. Top of a hill and has a fantastic panoramic view well positioned for breathtaking golden sunrises and crisp Rayleigh scattering sunsets. This place did it for me.

I recently stayed at this property for the weekend on a girls trip to the wine country. The house was very spacious and easily accomodated 10 people. There was a large kitchen for cooking with all utensils. The pool area was large and very well maintained. The views were spectacular. I've stayed at Cripple Creek Ranch twice now and absolutely love this house. It has all the amenities that you need for a Paso Robles getaway and is close to some of my favorite wineries. The views from the house are gorgeous, the animals are a special treat to see, and the pool and hot tub are perfect for those hot summer days and cool evenings. The house accommodates a large number of people and the beds are really comfy. There are plenty of bathrooms for large groups. We rented the house this past weekend for a bachelorette party and everyone in the group agreed that this was the perfect location and house for our weekend getaway. The owners of the house are really nice people and they take great care of their guests. I would rent this house again hands down and highly recommend it to people looking for a vacation rental in Paso Robles.

House was well equipped in the kitchen & bed & bath roooms. It's great that they are SO pet friendly...but that means their pets too. If you are looking for a *quiet* retreat get away - it's not exactly the place. Those adorable sheep & chickens wake up before the sun comes up & they want you to hear it! They are pretty much done making noise after they wake you before 6am. If you are a sound sleeper, you'll have no problem.

Our weekend up at the Ranch!

The view is amazing at the location as well as the working ranch appeal. Both Joanie and Joe the owners were very friendly and are on sight in the cottage in back if you need assistance. We chose this location because we have dogs and it's very dog and kid friendly. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable, except the pull out. The kitchen is very large and we spent most our time there talking and cooking. Things to be aware of, the pool is not heated and very cold, but the hot tub is great for the adults. Because the house is pet friendly if you have allergies this might not be the house for you. Also the house is heavily decorated in country kitsch some people in our party felt like it was a little too much. In the ad it said you could do laundry but once at the house we were instructed that laundry was not allowed. The house also advertised that there was a grill, but it was not working. As a working ranch there was a lot of manure and dog poop around, but that's to be at a ranch. All in all, there were a few quirky things but we had a great time and the location on this hill top is so amazing. We would be back, if we are back in the area again!

a little paradise

My husband, my baby and I staid at the Cripple Creek Ranch with 6 other friends for a weekend, and it was the most relaxing and beautiful vacation ever. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and it has both a pool and a large heated Jacuzzi outside. While you hang out in the Jacuzzi, you have the most beautiful view of the Paso Robles hills and vineyards. Sooooo pretty. The owner is a very kind and sweet woman, it was a pleasure to talk to her, even if briefly. We definitely will go back as soon as we can. I recommend this place to everyone who loves relaxing while immersing in the most beautiful country side ever. There are multiple animals such as chickens, sheeps, horses for the horse lovers, donkeys and even a Lama (Dali-Lama!). It was a perfect birthday present for my husband, who is still talking about it over and over again... THANK YOU JOANIE : )
