  This flat worked great for my family of five (with teenagers). Neither too big nor small. Ideal North Beach location for walking and all modes of transit. Helpful owner information including recommendations on neighborhood restaurants and attractions off the main tourist track.

  We stayed here for five nights over Easter. The apartment was well-equipped, spotless and quiet. The owner was very easy to deal with and we would recommend her and the property. The location is great with lots of restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance and with good connections to other parts of the City.

  We loved the location, right off Columbus in No. Beach, but still residential. The flat held me, my wife and two teenage daughters pretty well (the living room can be closed off too, if needed for a third BR). The dining room and kitchen are relatively huge. The cable car stops in FRONT of the building (get a pass)! My favorite morning coffee place was 1/2 block NORTH (downhill) on Columbus: Beacon Coffee and Pantry. (The other No. Beach places had great atmosphere but mostly unimpressive coffee, except for La Boulange.)

  If you are looking for the absolute best location, this apartment is it. Very easy to access from the airport. Hope on the BART; take the Powell Street exit; when you come out on the street you grab the Powell-Mason cable car. Total travel time from the airport is 40 minutes. The owner owns all 3 flats in the building. We were fortunate to stay on the first floor. The kitchen has recently been remodeled. The living room is a bit small but other than that it is perfect. If you a church goer, St Peter and Paul's catholic church is 2 blocks away. It is a beautiful old church and were Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio were married.

  My husband, son and I stayed here in mid January. The apartment has tons of space and is in a very nice location. We easily walked pretty much everywhere. Like another review stated there is limited outlet coverage and one bedroom door cannot be closed unless you move the bed. But, it was very dirty there. The fridge was full of food crumbs & there was stuff in the freezer. The bathroom had a razor cover on the sink & there were personal papers of a previous renter in the nightstand - bank info & all. Also papers on the floor and the dishes actually had dried food on them. Tam was email responsive to our concerns and did return our deposit quickly. But, she did not offer to refund our cleaning fee or to have someone come and clean the apartment, as it obviously wasn't done prior to our arrival. Although Tam seemed very nice and was quick to respond, we would not recommend this rental property due to dirty condition, non closing bedroom door, lack of outlets and the "cable" was almost all spanish speaking with no guide or children's channels available.

  Owner response: Brenda Thank you for providing the review. I'm sorry you had issues with the unit, we want to make sure all of guests have a pleasant stay and cleanliness is a very high priority. Please understand this situation was an anomaly. The electrician was inside the unit doing some maintenance work immediately prior to your arrival. As a result, the cleaning people doubled back inside the unit 2 hours prior to check-in time for a final inspection. However, you had arrived early and occupied the unit with your personal items at the time of final inspection, they were not able to do so without potentially disturbing your things. Out of respect and courtesy to you, the cleaning staff left promptly upon finding your occupancy. I would have sent the cleaning crew post haste, if you had let me know that the refrigerator and freezer needed cleaning. You did tell me about the razor cover in the bathroom and receipts inside the nightstand, but I thought it would me more of a nuisance to you if I sent the cleaning people over just to pick up those items. Please know that I appreciate the feedback and will make sure our cleaning people understand the importance of final inspection prior to guest arrival especially when maintenance people had been inside the unit. And perhaps, we can curtail the courtesy of early check-in to allow our cleaning people ample time to make sure the unit was ready when guests are scheduled to arrive. Thank you.

  Our family of 5 recently rented the middle floor of this unit. We were very comfortable in this space - much nicer than renting hotel rooms! The unit was very clean & spacious, with a living room, two bedrooms, dining room, bathroom & well equipped kitchen. There were more than enough extra pillows, blankets & towels for our group. Having the washer & dryer available to use was very convenient. The listing and photographs were accurate. The owner was excellent to work with prior to and during our visit. She sent very detailed information about the unit itself, area attractions & restaurants, parking garages/lots close by and transportation options (public transportation, private car service, etc). We did have a few minor issues with our accommodations during our stay - I emailed the owner (using the included wi-fi) and received satisfactory immediate responses! Thanks, Tam! We had planned on doing some light cooking in our unit, but with all the great restaurants within walking distance, we ended up only having light snacks with our wine before dinner! Some recommendations: Caffe DuLucchi, Tony's Pizza Napoletana, Scoma's & of course the Buena Vista for irish coffee! It was very convenient to be within walking distance of virtually everything we wanted to see in San Francisco. We easily walked to the Wharf, China Town & Union Square, all on virtually level streets. It's very convenient for people who cannot manage the inclines of some of the area's steep hills! I would highly recommed this rental to anyone visiting San Francisco! The only issue we had with this property was the lack of electrical outlets. This is certainly not the fault of the owner. When you have 5 people wanting to charge their phones, iPads/iPods, laptops, etc. outlets are very much in demand! Thank you for sharing your property!

  My daughter and I recently stayed on the top level of this rental. The building has an authentic feel to it. The advantage of being on the top floor is the lovely view from the front bay window, and the close proximity to the washer and dryer. There’s a lot to see all within walking distance and our feet got a good, healthy work out. We also purchased City passes that gave us unlimited rides on all muni public transportation including buses and cable cars. We were on and off the Powell/Mason cable car line daily, which stops practically at the front door of the apartment. We also took buses to Japan Town, Golden Gate Park and to a downtown convention. Bus stops are just a very short walk away. Even without a car we were able to hit all of the spots on our list of things we wanted to see/do. I’m vegan and I was able to find many nearby options that fit into my diet. I highly recommend to other vegans, Hot Spud on Mason Street (between Beach and Jefferson) and Loving Hut at Westfield Shopping Centre. Having a full kitchen and a nearly Safeway made eating quick, light meals easy before or after a full day of adventure.

  We have arrived back in Melbourne and had a fantastic holiday in the US. In particular we loved San Francisco and had an amazing time using your apartment. Thank you for your quick return of the deposit. Much appreciated. The apartment is in a fantastic location which meant we were able to see and do so much without the use of cars or public transport. I will definitely be recommending your place to some of my friends who will be visiting San Francisco in Sept 2013.

  Coming from France. Safe transaction. Very well located. Good review of restaurants. I loved spaguettis and clams with white wine sauce. Children loved the playground opposite street. Nice sunny old-fashioned appartment. Everything is set as it is said. Jasmine

  My husband and I rented the apartment with our close friends to visit San Francisco for the first time. We were so pleased with the location of the apartment because we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Restaurants were only a block away and visits to Trader Joe's were an easy walk also. We were able to walk to the Ferry Building and all of the piers for our tours easily. The apartment was clean with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The full sized washer and dryer was a bonus! The description of the apartment didn't do it justice, as far as we were concerned. It was nicer than we expected. We would recommend this apartment to anyone.
