what a great find!!! incredibly central, lovely view across the city and the Bay (we stayed on the top floor), quiet area, right next to the tram lines, easy stroll to the Wharf and a nice fun walk to Union Square and Chinatown. The apartment was spacious, in good condition, beds were very comfortable and kitchen perfectly stocked with all you need. Tam was a pleasure to work with. Great value for money!

Perfect alternative to hotel for business stay

We came to San Francisco for a week long arbitration in city. We could have stayed in a room at a pricey hotel, but preferred the extra space, privacy and having our own kitchen and workspace. This was perfect. We had ground floor unit which was nice because we had our wheely audit bags in and out. The cable car going right by every fifteen minutes or so was not a bother. Very cozy comfortable apartment. The exterior view does not do justice to the inside. Always a risk just trusting Internet pictures and reviews, but this is a keeper. We will come back again and again if business brings us back. Tam is very friendly and helpful. Don't bring a car you don't need one and parking is prime. Cabs are easy to catch on the corner. Watch when you go out for a late run to the store on foot, it's easy to get lost on the SF streets if you are not familiar. Say yes to this place, you will not be disappointed .

This property is very close to Fisherman's Wharf, great eating in North Beach, and shopping in Chinatown. It is situated in a spot that provides easy walkable access to car rentals for out of city experiences, and to many SF sites. I took a day trip to Muir Woods and Point Reyes as well as a trip to Monterey and San Simeon using a rental car. While in the city at the apartment a car was totally unnecessary. Take advantage of the double decker bus tour with an audio guide that drives you around the city allowing you to hop on and off at a variety of places. The flat provides space for a party to spread out and relax. Access to Safeway & Trader Joe's makes in-house eating a snap, but there are sooooo many great restaurants in the area that I don't know why anyone would want to cook! The owner of the apartment, Tam, communicated clearly and quickly. She sent detailed descriptions of things to do and restaurants to try. She addressed questions and issues immediately. Tam was very easy to work with as a host. She returned my deposit within a week of returning from my trip. I stayed in the second floor apartment and the pictures online accurately represent this apartment. It is comfortable and well laid out. The entrance hall of the building is a little dreary, but once in the apartment, there is lots of light. Be sure to check out the roof for amazing views of the city and the bay. I would definitely recommend this apartment to another traveler, and I look forward to a return trip to San Francisco to rent it again.

My family have just stayed at this apartment (August) and found it to be everything as described clean and bright, we were on the top floor and had great views as well. The location was perfect for our needs and central, we found it to be close to everything we needed. Tam was great to deal with and also gave some great tips included in the instructions, we were traveling from Australia and would have no hesitation in recommending these apartments it was nice after staying in hotels to have that home feeling, just wished we had more time but will be certainly staying here again if we come back in the future.

We stayed here with our two teenaged daughters at the beginning of August 2011. The appartment had everything we needed and we loved sitting in the bay window watching the cable car go up and down the hill. The location is just fantastic and we found we could walk to just about everything - although we rode the cable car one day just for the experience! Our daughters went off on their own for some of the time and it was really good that we could all just come and go as we pleased. Tam was very helpful beforehand and our deposit was returned promptly whilst we were still on holiday elsewhere in the USA. I would definitely recommend staying here rather than a hotel.

Our five night stay in San Francisco was made that much better by our accommodation. Tam was very prompt and helpful from beginning to end of the rental process: lots of neighbourhood information that I constantly referred to, and fast return of our damage deposit. There was plenty of room for my husband, myself and our two teenagers. I especially loved having my morning coffee, looking out the living room window at Telegraph Hill, the bay, and the cable car coming down the hill. (We had the third floor flat.) We picked up pizza and played a game of Scrabble (found in the pantry) one night when we were just too tired to go out. I wish we had more time to explore the neighbourhood. Location was excellent; very central to transportation and to many attractions. When the cable car was full, we just walked. (The cable car was often full, so have another plan in mind if you need to get somewhere.) We did not mind the noise of the cable cars at all. The photos and descriptions are very accurate. It is a bit of a walk to the 3rd floor, but that's part of life in San Francisco.

Owner response:Sometimes the cable cars are full you may want to take a taxi. If there's two or more person coming back from Union Square it is more cost effective to take a taxi than 2 one way cable car fares. If you prefer not to walk up to the third floor unit, please request a lower floor at the time of booking and every effort will be made to accomodate you.

My husband, daughter, four year old grandson, and I just returned from our four night stay in the flat. We were lucky to have the top unit with a nice view of the bay over the roof tops. Although my initial impression of the apartment was that it was rather sparsely furnished, it turned out that everything we needed was provided. I can't say enough about the location: there were activities and restaurants nearby to suit our three generations, as well as the convenience of public transportation to get wherever we wanted to go. Even though the neighborhood was hopping, especially over the weekend, we were surprised and pleased by how quiet it was after the cable cars stopped running at night. We'd definitely stay there again.

We had a fabulous stay here with our 2 boys. I wouldn't say it's luxurious, but I don't think that matters. It's nice and especially well laid-out (we even used the eating area as a 3rd bedroom for one of our sons), such that if adults are up front the kids in the back can't hear the noise at all. Boys loved seeing the cable cars go by out the window, loved the location near Lombard, the wharf, bike rentals, a park, great restaurants. All in all a great family rental spot!

Stayed in a two-room flat with a couple and one single person. The unit was great. Kitchen was new and nicely equipped, could easily have prepared large meals in it, and found it great for smaller preps. The living room was cozy and nice, also nicely separated from the dining room and kitchen to give everyone some space. Everything was clean and well set-up. The location is great - cable car stop 50 feet from door, good bus line around the corner, easy to catch cabs from the neighborhood streets. If you are a hardy walker, it is easy to walk to Chinatown, Lombard curves, Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, and the Embarcadero. The first three are very close. If you live in a quiet neighborhood or are VERY sensitive to city noise, you might want ear plugs for sleeping. I highly recommend this - a great alternative to hotels, especially if you need two rooms. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with, returned deposit immediately after check-out.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this nice apartment. One bedroom is connected to the front sitting room, and the other bedroom is far enough away that if you are traveling with young kids (as my wife and I were), they can be put down, and one not need be concerned with noise. Perhaps the best thing about the apartment is the proximity to so much: it is right on the cable car line, it is walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and all else that North Beach has to offer. We elected to give up our rental car after a day as a result. Also, the owner is extremely helpful. She took great care to answer any and all questions, and she provides helpful hints of things to do, places to eat, and the like. Highly recommended!

Owner response:You really don't need a rental car from this location. And if you want to have one for trips outside of the city, most of the major car rental companies have a Fisherman's Wharf location (about four blocks away easy walk) from which you can rent for the day and return when you are done.

We were constantly amazed at how easy it was to walk to almost everything we wanted to see in San Francisco from this charming flat. And when we didn't walk, catching the cable car or hailing a cab was very convenient. We walked to Coit Tower, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, the Embarcadero Farmer's Market, China Town, Union Square, Lombard's "crooked street" block, and more. We loved walking out our door each evening and finding amazing restaurants just around the corner, and it was easy to feel that we were part of the North Beach neighborhood during the week we were there. Tam's listing of restaurants, things to see and more became our guide for the week. The back bedroom is quiet, and the street noise in the front bedroom never interfered with our sleep. In fact, we found it rather charming to drift off to the sound of the cable cars rumbling by. The kitchen is best for simple meals, but that worked perfectly for us. And with fresh ravioli or tortellini from B. Molinari just down the street we could dine in with a gourmet taste on a budget. We had a lovely stay of 8 nights in June, in the heart of North Beach. The apartment is not fancy, don't expect to serve a gourmet meal to 10 people, but it is comfortable, quiet (the only noise you hear is the cable car going by, which is a nice San Francisco sound), and perfectly located. You're in the Italian district, with bakeries, cafes, bars, and restaurants all within a few blocks. One direction 10 minute walk takes you to Fisherman's wharf, the other direction 5 minutes to Chinatown, the third direction 2 blocks and you're climbing Telegraph hill dodging parrots and taking in the view. I lived in San Francisco 11 years, but always in the inner Sunset, a nice neighborhood. But it was such a treat to be located in this lively, friendly neighborhood. Tam the owner is a pro at renting, and everything went very smoothly. The long list of great places to go in the neighborhood is very useful.

Good base for a family in San Francisco

We rented the apartment for a week. It was a great base for exploring San Francisco and my two little girls loved watching the cable cars come and go. The view of the bay from the top floor window was also a good distraction. 15 minutes walk to Fisherman's wharf (faster without a 5 year old!) and 10 minutes on the cable car to Union Square meant it was easy to get around. There is a good playground and a nice public swimming pool across the road also to keep the children happy. The apartment was clean, light and airy. The owner was very efficient and provided a very helpful sheet with local information.

My husband and I stayed a week in May in the middle unit. Our son stayed in the second bedroom for a few nights. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, the location is great for seeing San Francisco and for feeling part of the city rather than living with the other tourists in a hotel. It was fun to watch the cable cars coming and going and while they are a little noisy, it wasn't a problem at all. The owner's suggestions were very helpful and we'll be sure to come back to try some of the restaurants we couldn't visit this time! If you have a car there are lots fairly nearby...but street parking is impossible. Would be happy to return.

We rented this apartment for a week when they were painting our apartment down the street. We have a 7 month old and it worked out perfectly since the location is near all major bus lines and you can walk to everything. The owner also provided a really good list of resources in the neighborhood. I have lived in North Beach for 8 years and she seemed to list all the good spots! She was very easy to get in touch with when we had questions. The only complaint is that it is a little noisy due to the cable car and you definitely hear other guests if you are not on the top floor. There was a lot of noise since we were in the middle apartment and it was a little hard for the baby to sleep. The washing machine also wasn't working when we were there. The kitchen isn't fully equipped although if you are just making the basics it is probably fine.

Lovely Weekend in this Apartment

We were two couples here for a weekend. Had a great time. Using the flat as a launching pad, we were able to walk to nearby cafes, bookstores, park, etc. with ease. Great location -- Columbus Avenue in one direction and the Wharf in the other! The flat is charming and accomodating. We all slept well in the quiet bedrooms, and enjoyed the local neighborhood. Parking nearby on Filbert at Cloumbus. Great view from the roof as well! We were on the top floor, so there were a few short flights of stairs to manage, but not an issue for us. We would recommend and use the building again for short stays in the city. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Excellent Location

Four of us (two couples) rented the second floor apartment for a week in October, 2010. The flat is clean and comfortable, if a little plain. But the location beats anything! Half a block from Columbus Avenue; three or four blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. Half a mile from City Lights Book Store. Inexpensive cab rides to any place far out. The cablecar stops are just outside the front door. The owner, Tam, was extremely helpful in answering all our questions before the trip. After booking the flat, she send us alot of great information by email -- pages of tips, information and suggestions for getting around town and finding great restaurants. The only problem we had was on our first day -- it was 85 degrees outside, and there is no airconditioning. But after it cooled down that first night, it was always cool and comfortable in the evenings when we returned. We didn't spend any daytime hours in the apartment. All in all, we can recommend this apartment highly. It is clean, comfortable, well-maintained, with a great location. Thanks to Tam for all her help.

We highly recommend this place and stayed there in Oct 2010. The apartment was full of San Fanciscan charm and within an easy walk to restaurants, Fishermans Wharf, Pier 39 etc. The cable cars running out the front where fantastic giving us easy access to the City and Union Square. The apartment was spacious and clean. Tam was a pleasure to deal with, her instructions and information was clear and concise and found her to be extremely honest and reliable to the point where my wife mistakenly left an earring behind and Tam contacted us and posted it back half way round the world to Australia! If you are looking for good clean lodgings with ample space,WIFI, cooking and washing facilities, in an awesome location, you cannot go past this place. Highly recommended Paul and Erika- Australia

It was better than what I thought.It is confortable and big. It is well-maintaned. When we arived it was not cleaned because a misunderstanding but I've called and the problem was solved in a couple of hours. It was an excellent customer services. We were at the second floor with an incredible view but this could be a problem for people with disabilities, but for us was awesome.

Our family of 5 stayed comfortably in the 2nd floor flat. The flat had everything a traveler would need and the bedroom my husband and I slept in was heavenly! The benefit of a washer and dryer on site was helpful. We walked everywhere and had breakfast and dinner in some of the most wonderful places within blocks of the flat. The cable cars were and added bonus!! We would definitely stay here again when in San Francisco.

We rented the first floor apartment for a week in june, and everyone in the family just loved it! No problem to accomodate two adults, two juniors and a teenager (he got his own big room, the small ones slept on the sleeper-sofa). Clean, well maintained, very nice neighbourhood - the best in SF?? We think so! Safe, child-friendly, close by important attractions, like downtown, chinatown, City Lights, Coit tower (and Fisherman's Wharf, but that's best to avoid...). Generous and service-minded owner, fast replies to all our questions. The fact-sheet we got was really helpful!

Our family of 5 (including 3 teen boys) were able to stay comfortably in one flat. We loved being just a few blocks from everything we wanted to see. Out the door in any direction we were able to walk to the highlights of the city: Fisherman's Wharf, China town, Coit Tower, Crook Street and many more! Public transportation was available on the street right out the door. The property was clean and neat, nothing fancy but everything needed. We did not spend much time inside. The owner gave such wonderful directions and information it was like having a great guided tour! We never needed a car until the 5th day when we left the city for other travel and the rental agency was just a few blocks away. At times it was noisy due to the cable car right outside and a noisy upstairs guest BUT the location, cleanliness and comfort outweighed the noise. Our family was a tad large for the sitting room but a group of 4 could fit it easily. I would not hesitate to rent this property again. I cannot stress enough how great a location for sightseeing. Again, the owner provided outstanding information including travel from the airport. It was a great experience!
