Why the Owner Chose Ridgway
I chose the charming town of Ridgway specifically for its rich history, breath-taking mountain views and old-world feeling. Horse drawn carriages are still seen frequently carrying locals and visitors through town. John Wayne once walked these streets and the feeling of being in a western movie backdrop is still evident everywhere you look. Old western charm combine with new brew pubs and restaurants to provide the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Sitting on the front porch, you can view the Cimarron mountain range to the east and the Sneffel mountain range to the south. Large, mature alder trees border the front yard and provide a cool breeze throughout the summer months. Dee was a Telluride veteran when she purchased this very special property in Downtown Ridgway, Colorado in the early 1990's. A Texan who relocated to Colorado in mid 1970's, Dee has hosted parties for locals and tourists alike in her home. Convenient, central location of her Queene Anne victorian has provided her friends, families and new acquaintances a place they have also learned to call "home". ITS GOT GOOD JUJU! Dee has lovingly restored this beautiful property which was once home to Marie Scott's family-a local legend. The tradition is carried on. Dee, Just wanted to let you know how much Wendy and I enjoyed your house. What a great location and views were just great. We did several hikes in the area and had lots of fun and great weather. The Aspens were turning and we took many pictures while in the area. We would highly recommed your house as a great place to stay, and you were great to work with in making our stay possible. Being so close to Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Montrose gives lot of opportunties for things to see and do. If all goes well we plan on being back about the same time next year. I spent a week here in July with two friends exploring the San Juans. This house is large enough to be comfortable and cozy enough to be welcoming. The walk to restaurants amd grocery stores is incredibly short...I mean a block or two. Sitting on the front porch will get you waves from nearly all the passers by, including the town marshal. And Dee is a wealth of information about hiking, fishing or dining. A very pleasant experience I hope to repeat very soon.

Rented this beautiful house for two great months in order to board Telluride daily. The town itself has so much to offer we didn't make it to the ski resort as often as anticipated. Ridgway is truly a unique place, great, friendly people and stunning views (plus a ton of sunshine!). As for the house, it is big, comfy, and centrally located- you can walk to the market, post office and restaurants in minutes. We especially appreciated the steam shower, fire place, and the new kitchen. Hope to make it back!

The accommodations (room choice and available amenities) were excellent. We enjoyed the excellent condition of the aged house - you have done a great job in preserving the look as "new". Beautiful inside and out. Nice location - walking distance to some of the best Thai food we've had and other restaurants, antique and art shops.

My wife and 2 children and my parents stayed at this home over Labor Day weekend. It was very comfortable and had plenty of room for the 6 of us, plus the back patio and fire pit was great for the starry nights!! The location is very convenient to downtown Ridgway and the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay here again.

Charming, charming, charming. The most comfortable, adorable house ever! My family stayed here over the Christmas holiday and could not have had a better time. Everyone had plenty of space and privacy, yet we could enjoy the adorable living area whenever we felt like catching up, hanging out and having coffee or cocktails. What a wonderful, quintessential Colorado mountain house. Highly recommended!
