This very comfortable home is located on a canal a few hundred yards from the intracoastal waterway on North Padre Island at Corpus Christi. It is only available for a month or longer (no weekly rentals) The Gulf beaches are just a few minutes away by bike or car. There is space at the homes lower deck to dock your boat (up to 18 ft.) and the water there is clean for swimming and productive for fishing. The home is located on a quiet, short street and is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Corpus Christi.
There are two bedrooms with double beds and two full baths. There's a lot to do and see in this beautiful coastal area. It's a fisherman’s paradise and there is a golf course just a few blocks from this home. Restaurants of every description, unique shops and beautiful beaches abound here. There is even a casino ship nearby that goes out daily. Fresh shrimp and fish are a specialty of the area and you can buy them right off the boats when the daily harvest is brought in. Inland, the famous King Ranch is open to visitors and the Texas State Aquarium is located nearby as well.
If you drive a few miles south on the island, the road ends and you enter Padre Island National Seashore encompassing 130,433 acres. It is the longest (65 miles) remaining undeveloped stretch of barrier island in the world. The island is located on a major migratory route known as the Central Flyway and approximately 380 species of birds have been sighted within this National Seashore. North Padre Island is NOT the area known for the big Spring break crowd. That is South Padre, 190 miles south of here.
