Just left beautiful Copper Top cabin and had the one of our best family trips. We left the beach and headed for the mountains driving through some heavy rain. The cottage was very easy to find located in the heart of Maggie Valley but on the very road that leads you to the Cataloochee Ski resort, our main focus for our trip was skiing. The owner gave detailed instructions for entry to the cabin and we were quickly inside a dream log cabin. Our children ages 16,14,10 took great delight tearing around the cabin choosing there rooms, the cabin is not only spacious but very thoughtfully laid out with the heart of the home centred around the room containing a fully equipped kitchen which even a gourmet chef will find ever acroument they may need, this same room has a large wood burning stone fire place and we were delighted to find some fire logs and a bundle of wood. Within minutes we had a blazing fire in the hearth we had opened a bottle of wine and the best surprise of all, the weather gods had smiled on us and it began to snow, and snow and snow, within an hour everything was covered in a white blanket. We wrapped up in our winter woollies and headed out the door. Our dogs were more excited than the kids, the cabin is located on a quite road leading up the mountain and our dogs roamed freely with on worry of traffic. After our hike the kids hit the hot tub on the deck, overlooking the woods, sitting in the hot tub with snow was worth the price of admission.the cabin was clean the beds so comfortable it was hard to pull ourselves from under the covers to head the 5 minutes to the ski resort. We skied from 830 till 2pm then headed back to the cabin to nap then right back out to attack the slopes as the sun set over the hills, magnificent. By now all the crowds had left and we would ski will 7pm, with the cabin being located so close it was easy to leave and then head back. The jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom was a delight for our sore muscles. With the fire blazing warming the whole house we would cook gourmet meals then cuddle up together to watch the many movies the direct T.V provided on the flat screen. There is a wonderful game room downstairs with more games than you could play, with something for every kid. We did not use this much due to so much time spent skiing. The laundry facilities were first rate allowing us to quickly wash and dry wet clothes we had. Booking the cabin was so easy, with all charges included in the fee. Will return, ndoubt.

We had such a good vacation at your pretty Copper Top Cabin. The beds were comfortable, the appliances first rate and the views awesome. I love the floor plan and spent a great deal of time figuring where I would place my furniture if it were mine. We didn't have children in our party, but the grown ups thoroughly enjoyed the game room - especially playing rock band. I hope we didn't disturb the neighbors, because it was loud. It was really a great week for the eight of us.

This is a nice cabin, lots of fun for the kids with the big game room. We had 2 families:, one couple stayed up stairs, one stayed on the ground floor, and the kids split up between the game room bedroom and the loft. Very close to Cataloochee ski resort. Owner responsive to some minor problems we had while staying there. The woodburning fireplace was nice for the cold nights, the hot tub great!

The cabin was everything the listing described and more. There was so much for the kids and adults to do including foosball, pool, air hockey and playstation. There were also numerous board games and direct TV with movie channels. The cabin was clean, very well maintained and well stocked. The hot tub was already hot when we arrived, also appeared to be very clean and well taken care of. The only real problem was that the coffee maker was broken and we all suffered from bouts of caffeine withdrawal. We wish we could have stayed longer and I would definitely recommend the Coper Top Cabin to a friend. Thanks for a great time! The Brown Family

We had a great time and the cabin was perfect!...high up with a view but still had outdoor space for the kiddos which is hard to find. The road was quiet and it was easy to walk the dog (we have stayed in some cabins where the only place to walk your dog was a cliff and the driveway!) The game room kept the kids busy giving us quiet time and they LOVED it until I beat them at air hockey! ...I loved the loft with the perfect reading chair complete with a view :) Cabin is very clean with everything you need. Owners were very responsive....highly recommend. Thank you! We will be back! As for Maggie - it is a quaint little town with lots of hiking trails and waterfalls nearby. GREAT horseback rides at Cataloochee just up the road. Stay away from "Butts on the Creek" barbecue restaurant - yuck. Frankie's Italian Restaurant was AWESOME....enjoy!

We usually get a cottage on the outer banks of North Carolina, but it was getting a little "old". We had a 75 MPH trip from Eastern NC to Maggie Valley. There are 3 or 4 nice rest areas to picnic or get out and walk the dog, that are maintained by the state of NC YES.!! I did say walk the dog!!! Copper Top has the added attraction of allowing pets, and our little dog just had as much fun as we did. This has been one of the hottest summers on record, but we were so comfortable with temps in the 70's and at night in the high 60's. This cottage is the most unique one our family has ever stayed in. If you see the picture of the cabin on the net, it looks like a tiny cabin. It has 3 floors and 2 are built into the side of the mountain.! It does seem that you are the only person on the mountain, but you are not. Nice road to the cabin . Our entire family went and we had more than enough room to park 3 cars. It has just the right amount of kitchen you need on a vacation. You can make large dinners or small suppers and everything is there. Everything is so new. The island in the kitchen has a bar with stools.. There is a nice dining room table as well. The den has a wonderful fireplace which I was sad we did not need! Our 30 somthing children and spouses, and grandson immediately plugged in all their electronic devices. There was no problem using the computers anywhere because the cabin has wireless modems!! Tlie living room with fireplace has a huge cable tv with sattelite hookup.> On this first floor is a large bath and bedroom with Queen bed. and tv/ The beds were already made for us!! The laundry area is perfect with ironing board and iron. The first floor has lovely hardwood floors with rugs in stategic places. The decorator used a Black Bear Theme for many pictures, quilts, even a bear rug on the floor. The quilts and curtains in the home are gorgeous. I love quilts and a country feeling. A door opens that leads downstairs to the most complete gaming room I have ever seen . There was pool, fooz ball, darts, huge tv with interactive games as well as almost any child or adult game you would want. There is a couch and chair, and it is just the right place for kids or guys who want to watch football games. A porch just outside overlooks the valley going down the mountain. There was a PSP game a

I just want to let anyone interested know what a great time we had at Copper Top Cabin from June 28th through July 5th, 2010. The cabin was absolutely perfect and Copper Top has the added attraction of allowing pets, and our little dog just had as much fun as we did. This cottage is the most unique one our family has ever stayed in. If you see the picture of the cabin on the net, it looks like a tiny cabin – but it has 3 floors and 2 are built into the side of the mountain.! The pool table turns and turns into a ping-pong table! The kids loved the bedroom down here, with the twin beds! Wide glass windows have gorgeous views, as well as the main floor. You are near a grocery store, and so many things to see. You must see the Reproduction of the Indian Village and the drama UNTO THESE HILLS was great. We spent a whole day in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is not far away at all. Everyone loved the hot tub after each long day of fun. If you are lucky enough to find a local who will tell you where the Elk have been re-introduced in NC mountains, they will tell you where to park your car and at sunset, what a sight.! They come out of the woods to feed at sunset. They are actually not too far from the cabin. Sure it would be great to go to Copper Top to snow ski, but put it on your agenda for a cool summer vacation!!! CJ Hare

My family of 5 and my buddies family of 5 visited Copper Top cabin from from 2/4/2010 to 2/7/2010. The cabin was just as the pictures showed. The backside of the cabin has a breathtaking view right in the middle of Cataloochee Mountain. We initially wanted to come to Maggie Valley to do some skiing at the cataloochee ski resort. The moment we got to and went through the cabin we realized that we may want to spend more time than expected just enjoying the cabin. Every inch of the cabin is on point as far as cleanliness and craftsmanship. The hot tub was very relaxing after spending the day in the snow and chasing around our kids in Maggie Valley. I have been to Maggie Valley 10 or so times over the last 15 years and by far Copper Top was the most rewarding place that I have stayed. The location is perfect for skiing. The cabin is maybe a mile up the mountain from some grat skiing at Cataloochee. The cabin is about 6.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Socco Falls is also just up the road. Our families went to the falls and took some wonderful pictures. One night we had some friends from the NC area come up and we cooked a 5 course meal in the cabin. The fireplace is awesome, the bedrooms are very cozy, and the game room is perfect for kids. The cabin sleeps 10 easily. There are several couches that make into beds. Every appliance is brand new. I beleive there are at least 4 TV's in the cabin. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone that wants to stay in Maggie Valley. The only suggestion that I would make is to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle if your visiting in the Winter. The time that we stayed at the cabin was in the heart of a wintery, snowy snap. The community does an excellent job of keeping the roads drivable during harsh conditions. I have a two wheel drive F-150 and had some difficulty getting in and out of some spots due to thick ice. This could be due to the fact that Ive never driven in such conditions. Quite fortunatley there is a neighbor down the road from that cabin that scrapes the roads with his tractor daily. All in all we had a wonderful experience at Copper Top!! Maggie Valley is my favorite place in the country to visit and I plan on making the trip to Copper Top again soon!! One final thing: Joey's Pancake House has the best breakfast in the country. Do not miss an opportunity to have a meal at Joey's! The chocolate chip pancakes are off the chain!!

Great view from the deck and the loft. It was an awesome house; very comfortable and "homey!" The owners provided excellent customer service and we would definitely stay there again if we are in the area. Highly recommend this home for a weekend getaway, a girls weekend, or a honeymoon (great hot tub!). J. Arthurs Restaurant is close by and has an excellent menu.

My husband & I just spent our 28th anniversary at Copper Top and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and had every amenity you could think of. After spending each day viewing Maggie Valley and surrounding areas we would come home to relax in the hot tub under the stars. The cabin is very nicely decorated on all three levels. The lower level has a wonderful game room with a swing located outside on the attached deck. We enjoyed looking out over the mountain while swinging in the peace and quiet. We definitely plan on returning to Copper Top in the future.

I just got back from spending an amazing 5 days in Maggie Valley and I must say that Copper Top was the perfect cabin to call home for a few days. I truly felt at home in this cabin - from the woodsy decor to the family friendly set-up, everything about this cabin screams "home". The living area is open and spacious, with a beautiful fireplace that makes it the perfect spot to sit around and just be together. The second floor loft has the most incredible view of the Smokies that I have ever seen. Sitting up there while reading a book was the most relaxing thing I've done in a long time! However, the basement (Called Copper Top Game Room) was not relaxing - it was SO MUCH FUN! We played pool, air hockey, foozball, checkers, baseball and the videogames never did stop. It was the perfect place to plug in the iPod, turn the music up (they have a great sound system down there) and just let loose. It really did make us feel like kids again! Having a room like this is such a great bonus (especially if you have kids!!!). In my opinion, this cabin was the perfect place to spend my days in Maggie Valley. I didn't feel like I was staying in a rental property -- I felt like I was a guest in someone's home -- and you just can't put a price on that feeling. As I was packing up and getting ready to head home, I found myself already making plans to return! That's how much I loved this perfect vacation home! If you are on the fence about trying this place out, take my word for it - it's Fantastic and I have no doubt you and your family will enjoy it as much as we did! Thanks so much to the owners of Copper Top -- You have really figured out how to do this the right way! See you in the Summer!

My husband and I stayed at Copper Top for our anniversary. I had finished a year of cancer treatment about 6 months earlier so we both REALLY needed a relaxing getaway. The week was just what the Dr ordered! We made a fire every night in the fireplace, grilled out on the deck and relaxed in the hot tub while the snowflakes fell on us. The cabin is close to Cataloochie Ski resort where we rode horses in the mountains with a view of Maggie Valley. The other days we spent shopping in quaint Waynesville, exploring the Biltmore estate, Asheville, and Chimney Rock where many movies have been filmed. The cabin itself was very pretty, clean, well furnished , with everything you need to cook in the full sized kitchen. There are many windows which bring the outdoors inside to enjoy the fantastic mountain views. It is situated on a quiet road with few neighbors so it was pretty private, especially compared to some of the cabins on the other side of 19 which are all on top of one another. Coming from the congested area where we live, it was really nice not to have to listen to street traffic, sirens from ambulances, loud boom bass from cars, etc and just listen to the QUIET of nature. The only negative was that the timing of our stay ended up being the same time as our team the Tampa Bay Rays were playing in their first world series, which we tried to find on tv as soon as we got to our cabin. Unfortunately there was only direct tv which didn`t carry fox sports so we couldn`t watch any of the games. To make matters worse all the sports bars in town (and surrounding towns) closed at 9pm and weren`t going to stay open for the games. We ended up following the series on my husband`s blackberry which was extremely disappointing. Other than that Copper Top was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of NC. It is even better than the pictues both inside and out. We would love to stay there for another week when we get back to the area.

I was leary of renting something over the internet, however this was everything & more! The cabin is very clean & has all the amenities that one would require. We loved the spectacular view, in the evening or early morning the animals could be seen down below the deck. Nights in the hot tub under a star filled sky were amazing. If you want peace and true relaxation this is the place for you. The seclusion is just enough to enjoy the time away from the rat race and civilization is close enough for all of your needs otherwise. We also did some horseback riding up @ Cattaloochi Ranch just up the mountain from the cabin. The views were breath taking as well. We loved this vacation so much that we are definitely coming back again this summer & really wished it had been available in Dec. The fireplace was wonderful & there is sufficient seating/sleeping for an entire family. The layout/photos of the cabin were exactly as when you arrive. The agent made the rental process smooth & effortless. The brochures in the cabin & the guest sign in book will help you to decide on the best activities. Don't miss a pancake breakfast @ Joe's across from Ghostown in the Sky, delicious. You really must stay @ Copper Top, it is the opportunity of a lifetime!
