This newly constructed house with open floor plan was completed in 2006 and is fully furnished. Just a one-minute walk to Broadkill Beach to enjoy sunbathing, shelling, surf fishing, or just a stroll along the water’s edge.
Located between Delaware Bay and the Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge, there are spectacular views of the bay and refuge area from the third level.
There is a convenience store within walking distance-supplying beverages of all types, sandwiches, and on the week ends fresh donuts. Visit the Prime Hook visitors’ center for information about the area, see the native wildlife on exhibit, and take a walk along the nature trails leading from the center.
Broadkill Beach is one of two sites in the United States that attract the Horseshoe Crab, a prehistoric creature that is older than the Dinosaurs. Read more about its history and habits where Broadkill Beach Road ends at the sand. Prime Hook is located along a major flyway for migratory birds. Canadian Geese, ducks, hawks, and many other waterfowl can be seen flying around the area. Deer, foxes, squirrels and many other animals are native to the area.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, granite counter tops, refrigerator-freezer, stove, oven and microwave. It has a breakfast bar with three stools in addition to a dinning room table for six. Sliding glass doors in the kitchen and dinning area open to a screened-in balcony that has three deck chairs to enjoy the view while having your morning coffee or enjoy the sunset with your evening cocktail.
The great room has a sliding door to another screened-in porch on the south side and a side door to the open deck. It also has cable TV, DVD player, a small library and a half bath. The master bedroom has cable TV and a master bathroom. All bedrooms are located on the second floor and are accessible by the wide stair case or the elevator, which is a great convenience getting from the ground level to the upper floors, hauling luggage to the bedrooms or carrying groceries to the kitchen.
The laundry room located on the bedroom level has a washer and dryer.
There are separate air conditioning units for the second and third floors controlled by separate thermostats. Use the air conditioning or open the sliding glass doors and enjoy the ocean breeze blowing through the house.
A fish cleaning sink and counter and outdoor shower are located on ground level.
A public golf course is located at the intersection of Highway 1 and Broadkill Beach Road approximately three miles away. There is outlet shopping along both sides of Highway 1 as you drive south toward Lewes. The area offers many good restaurants, movies, miniature golf, and antique shops. The Cape May Ferry landing is located in Lewes.
Tenants bring their own sheet, pillowcases and towels.
