Cozy CreeK
Enjoy the romance of a rushing creek in the Mountains
A place where every detail is designed to allow you to forget your cares and relax in a romantic setting far from the noise and city lights. Come see the moon from your deck as it rises and crosses the sky just above the back ridge.
THE AREA
Cozy CreeK cabin is located in the wilderness of the North Georgia Mountains, located 250 foot steps from Section 7 (Bushyhead Road)of the Benton MacKaye hiking trail...a spur off the Applalachian Trail which runs from North Georgia to Maine [2,170 miles]. The property has 133 feet of premier trout fishing. Our cabin is located just a short 8 miles from the UP & COMING vacation town of Blue Ridge, GA. The drive to it ends by running along a hemlock shaded, constantly babbling brook. Although 4-wheel drive is not required, the last mile or so is a gravel road. One can get lost in the forest that surrounds the cabin known as the Cohutta Mountains which are part of the Appalachian Mountain Range.
Cozy CreeK is just over an hours drive from both the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the beginning of the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway. The area rivers were home to the 1996 Olympic kayaking events. So relaxing drives, fly fishing, nature trail hiking, white water kayaking or rafting, multiple lakes for boating, horseback riding journeys and 4-wheel adventures are just some of the many ways to spend your active day enjoying the area.
Two-hour drives include destinations like the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Biltmore (Castle) in Asheville, Chattanooga or even Atlanta if you must.
THE CABIN
Cozy CreeK is a unique cabin, built in Nov 2006. Large enough for your wishes, small enough to look and feel like a cabin built years past. A throw back to a rustic trapper cabin, but with upgrades.
Tin roof, two levels of decking, multiple sets of French doors, outside wood burning fireplace, hot tub and river gazebo are but a few of the many upgrades of pleasure that await you. It is a land of four seasons...spring dogwoods, hot summers with cool nights, exceptional fall colors, especially with the top down. Our winters bring a snowstorm or two, but will typically not last more than a few days or so.
When you first step out of your vehicle you will hear the sound of the rushing creek and nothing else…no noisy neighbors because you have no neighbors. From the back porch, you can see the mountains. They come and go as the fog lingers like puffs of smoke then moves in around them. Acres of pines, hemlocks and hardwoods seem to permeate the sound of the creek toward you. It rushes over large and small river rocks, creating an ambiance that just beckons for you to pause and settle into one of the many rocking chairs provided for this purpose.
For the full effect of the creek, head down to the gazebo porch swing. A lighted pathway is provided for those late night visits. The hot tub deck also has great views of the area. Although it is set far enough back to avoid the rain, don’t be surprised by a cool misty spray in your face when the skies decide to open up. It is all part of the experience that comes with staying at Cozy CreeK.
THE CABIN INTERIOR
Cozy CreeK is a single level cabin with a bedroom and bath on both sides of the main room. It was designed and built to be a romantic getaway for a single couple, but has room for two. The walls, ceilings and floors are all wood. Large stained country plank floors, cedar shake access walls and rough unfinished oak doors complete with swing latch bolts for locks are but a few of the unique ways this cabin is so different…so charming…so cozy.
The main room is open to include the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a large island with a bar and bar stools on the opposite side, perfect for conversation or food tasting while waiting on the main course. A large wood burning fireplace dominates this room. Each bedroom comes with French doors that open to the outside deck for those who want to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the creek. The lighting can be bright throughout the cabin with windows in every room. It also has a good compliment of lower level decorative lights, multiple candles and the use of dimmer switches on some of the overhead lights which enhances the cabin to it’s full charming potential of being a place for romance.
Remember each night begins a new day.

Cozy Log Cabin on Creek
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge
The North Georgia Mountains are only an hour and a half from Atlanta and you feel worlds away! Not only do you have the beautiful mountains, but the relaxing sounds of the creek and no distractions around you.
The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin
Cozy Creek has so much to offer. The peace and tranquility are among the first. Once you walk in the cabin and close the door behind you, you are in the perfect place. The back doors open up to the sweet sounds of nature. The cabin seems to be far away from everything, yet it is only a few miles from Blue Ridge. The Cohuttas are near by; the Cashes Valley Area; the Benton McKay Trail begins down the road. And of course, Fightingtown Creek is in the back yard!
The road the cabin is on is not on Google Maps, but you can get the general idea of the location.
Owner's Map of Blue Ridge
We started coming to the North Georgia Mountains almost 10 years ago and loved the fact that it was such a short drive from Atlanta. We bought our first log cabin in 2003 in Mineral Bluff. I loved Blue Ridge and the area so much that I didn't want to go back to Atlanta to live, so I stayed! The slow pace suited me perfectly and John was able to make the trip from Atlanta on the weekends easily.
We bought Cozy Creek in 2007 and first and foremost we made it to suit us. I soon discovered that what I wanted in a vacation rental was what others were looking for. A comfortable place they felt at home in and a place they could bring their pets without worry.
We have been sharing Cozy Creek with others now for 2 years! Sally and John

Sally and John, Words cannot explain how perfect your cabin is. All of our life stresses melted away the moment we walked through the door. Even Porter, the Border Collie was calm....that never happens. Your hospitality made us feel welcome and at home almost as if you've known us for years. There was something for all of us. I enjoyed your black and red kitchen. It's exactly like mine at home, even down to the red Kitchen Aid pots and pans. Sam enjoyed the rocking chairs and Porter LOVED the creek. Thank you do opening your home to us. This will be a place we will visit for years.

The cabin is wonderful. The sights, smells, and sounds of the property and the cabin itself, were so calming and beautiful. The weather was perfect for July. It felt great in the sun and cool in the shade. Our time was short but sweet. Even with my injury that limited me to lying around, I enjoyed the nuansces of the cabin. The detail of the wood work inside and out was remarkable. The comfort of your home - like home. Thank you for sharing this with others, it should be. Hope to return to enjoy again soon. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! I remember reading the reviews online and all of your previous guests commenting on the little "touches" throughout the cabin. When we arrived, we couldn't believe how much thought and care you put into every last detail. We really enjoyed spending each morning and night taking in the beautiful mountain views from the deck and listening to the calming sounds of the creek below. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of Florida City life! We look forward to you having us back. Thank you again for making this such a wonderful little getaway!
