Cozy CreeK
Enjoy the romance of a rushing creek in the Mountains

A place where every detail is designed to allow you to forget your cares and relax in a romantic setting far from the noise and city lights. Come see the moon from your deck as it rises and crosses the sky just above the back ridge.

THE AREA
Cozy CreeK cabin is located in the wilderness of the North Georgia Mountains, located 250 foot steps from Section 7 (Bushyhead Road)of the Benton MacKaye hiking trail...a spur off the Applalachian Trail which runs from North Georgia to Maine [2,170 miles]. The property has 133 feet of premier trout fishing. Our cabin is located just a short 8 miles from the UP & COMING vacation town of Blue Ridge, GA. The drive to it ends by running along a hemlock shaded, constantly babbling brook. Although 4-wheel drive is not required, the last mile or so is a gravel road. One can get lost in the forest that surrounds the cabin known as the Cohutta Mountains which are part of the Appalachian Mountain Range.

Cozy CreeK is just over an hours drive from both the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the beginning of the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway. The area rivers were home to the 1996 Olympic kayaking events. So relaxing drives, fly fishing, nature trail hiking, white water kayaking or rafting, multiple lakes for boating, horseback riding journeys and 4-wheel adventures are just some of the many ways to spend your active day enjoying the area.

Two-hour drives include destinations like the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Biltmore (Castle) in Asheville, Chattanooga or even Atlanta if you must.

THE CABIN
Cozy CreeK is a unique cabin, built in Nov 2006. Large enough for your wishes, small enough to look and feel like a cabin built years past. A throw back to a rustic trapper cabin, but with upgrades.

Tin roof, two levels of decking, multiple sets of French doors, outside wood burning fireplace, hot tub and river gazebo are but a few of the many upgrades of pleasure that await you. It is a land of four seasons...spring dogwoods, hot summers with cool nights, exceptional fall colors, especially with the top down. Our winters bring a snowstorm or two, but will typically not last more than a few days or so.

When you first step out of your vehicle you will hear the sound of the rushing creek and nothing else…no noisy neighbors because you have no neighbors. From the back porch, you can see the mountains. They come and go as the fog lingers like puffs of smoke then moves in around them. Acres of pines, hemlocks and hardwoods seem to permeate the sound of the creek toward you. It rushes over large and small river rocks, creating an ambiance that just beckons for you to pause and settle into one of the many rocking chairs provided for this purpose.

For the full effect of the creek, head down to the gazebo porch swing. A lighted pathway is provided for those late night visits. The hot tub deck also has great views of the area. Although it is set far enough back to avoid the rain, don’t be surprised by a cool misty spray in your face when the skies decide to open up. It is all part of the experience that comes with staying at Cozy CreeK.

THE CABIN INTERIOR
Cozy CreeK is a single level cabin with a bedroom and bath on both sides of the main room. It was designed and built to be a romantic getaway for a single couple, but has room for two. The walls, ceilings and floors are all wood. Large stained country plank floors, cedar shake access walls and rough unfinished oak doors complete with swing latch bolts for locks are but a few of the unique ways this cabin is so different…so charming…so cozy.

The main room is open to include the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a large island with a bar and bar stools on the opposite side, perfect for conversation or food tasting while waiting on the main course. A large wood burning fireplace dominates this room. Each bedroom comes with French doors that open to the outside deck for those who want to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the creek. The lighting can be bright throughout the cabin with windows in every room. It also has a good compliment of lower level decorative lights, multiple candles and the use of dimmer switches on some of the overhead lights which enhances the cabin to it’s full charming potential of being a place for romance.

Remember each night begins a new day.

Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge

The North Georgia Mountains are only an hour and a half from Atlanta and you feel worlds away! Not only do you have the beautiful mountains, but the relaxing sounds of the creek and no distractions around you.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Cozy Creek has so much to offer. The peace and tranquility are among the first. Once you walk in the cabin and close the door behind you, you are in the perfect place. The back doors open up to the sweet sounds of nature. The cabin seems to be far away from everything, yet it is only a few miles from Blue Ridge. The Cohuttas are near by; the Cashes Valley Area; the Benton McKay Trail begins down the road. And of course, Fightingtown Creek is in the back yard!

Owner's Map of Blue Ridge

We discovered the North Georgia Mountains and the Blue Ridge area almost 12 years ago and loved the fact that it was such a short drive from Atlanta for a perfect weekend getaway. We want Cozy Creek to be a comfortable place where our guests feel at home. A place they can bring their pets without worry. There is nothing more relaxing or enjoyable than rocking on the deck, listening to the creek and watching your dog having a wonderful time!

Fantastic Cabin

Guest: ChuckB (Destrehan, LA)
Date of Stay: 09/23/11 Review Submitted: 10/18/11

We were looking for a quiet cabin for a long weekend where we could relax and bring our puppy. This cabin was perfect for us. The description was on the spot and it was very well stocked & clean. It was sort of like staying at a family member's place considering everything from a great grill, outdoor fireplace, large back porch, hot tub, gazebo, nice back yard and many more amenities. We stayed close to the cabin mostly, grilled, enjoyed the outdoor fireplace, and recharged our batteries. Can't wait to come back again.

Owner response:Boy, we never tire of hearing that you loved you stay at Cozy Creek. This cabin has somthing special for people that really enjoy what it has to offer. We have always wanted our guests to come away with a great experience and love the place like we do. You are always welcomed back!

AWESOME Cabin in Blue Ridge, GA

Date of Stay: 05/21/11 Review Submitted: 05/31/11

This is the second time we have rented Cozy Creek cabin. We just got back from a wonderful week. Can't wait until we can spend another vacation at the cabin. If you want peace and quiet, this cabin is for you! Cozy is a good way to describe the cabin. The minute you walk in you feel right at home. The kitchen is 'well' equipped - all you need to bring is food and drinks. The outdoor fireplace located on the top deck is a spectacular place to spend the evening or early morning. This cabin is well maintained and very clean. The best attraction is Mercier's Orchard during their U-PICK events. We have picked strawberries, cherries and blueberries. All of them are scrumptious. Of course, you have to try one of their fried pies. If you are looking to have lunch or dinner beside the river, we recommend Tocca Riverside Restaurant on Aska Road. Also, Blue Ridge BBQ is an excellent place. Sally was very helpful when we made our reservations. She is friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend Cozy Creek cabin for a quiet/relaxing getaway from the hectic world that we live in.

Owner response:We love having our return guests. It makes us feel like "old friends who love to come stay at our place when they get the chance."

Comforts of your own home, relaxing retreat!

Guest: Anouschka and Peter (Marietta)
Date of Stay: 03/17/11 Review Submitted: 03/30/11

My husband and I went there to celebrate his birthday and we had such a great relaxing time. We were so suprised when we walked into this home as we felt like we came HOME. Sally has not missed a beat on comfort, relaxation and all the little extra's. We didn't need to bring half the things we brought as the cabin has everything you need except your clothes and food. It truly is a retreat as there are no neighbors on either side and the area around is great for walking and even fishing in the creek behind the house. Sally, thank you for the little extra's to make Peter's birthday so special! We will definately be back in the fall if not sooner.

Great, romantic stay !

Guest: Lori & Bryan (Atlanta)
Date of Stay: 02/18/11 Review Submitted: 02/21/11

This cabin was absolutely perfect in every way. The description is spot on. This is so much more than a rental. You feel like you are staying in a relative's cozy home. The cabin is so well equipped that you literally only need to bring food and a toothbrush. We especially enjoyed sitting on the rockers, by the the outdoor fireplace, listening to the rushing creek below. The proximity to Blue Ridge is great as well. The transaction with Sally was smooth and easy. The owners have though of everything. Overall a fabulous experience. You can't go wrong staying here. Can't wait to go back.

Owner response:Thanks so much to Lori and Bryan for these kind words. This is exactly the experience we want all of our guests to have when they stay at Cozy Creek.

Wonderful Cabin!

Guest: Julie (Thomaston, GA)
Date of Stay: 11/01/10 Review Submitted: 11/07/10

This cabin is beautifully decorated and so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. When you walk in the door you immediately feel the comfort and coziness of Cozy Creek. The owners put alot of thought and care into providing everything you need - they even left an anniversary gift for us. We truly enjoyed our stay at Cozy Creek!! We highly recommend this cabin!

Owner response:Julie and Mark were the perfect guests. I had to be away during this time due to a family emergency and they couldn't have been any better about taking care of our cabin and understanding what we were going through. People like this is why John and I continue to share Cozy Creek with others.

Excellent - I recommend it!

Guest: CountryGirl (Santa Fe, TN)
Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 10/06/10

It's not easy finding a "decent" pet-friendly cabin. I was very pleasantly surprised by Cozy Creek. Squeaky clean, yet comfortable - we didn't have to worry about our dogs scratching the floors etc. We grilled steaks, made cookies, fixed country breakfasts, had sandwiches, snacks and drinks, and never once did we not have everything we needed. It's the most well-provisioned places we've ever stayed. The owner is friendly, contacts you very timely and has reasonable rules for the cabin. Instructions for nearly everything are kept in a notebook by the door and she even left a gift and a note for us, and a healthy treat for our dog. Cabin is stocked with a dog bed, bowls, paw cleaning towels and toys. I can't say enough about the cabin and the owner. I would recommend this cabin for anyone who wants to get away from it all in the Georgia mountains. Downtown Blue Ridge is a must-see, and pet friendly as well. Some stores even had bowls of water out front on the sidewalk for dogs. We loved it from start to finish.

Owner response:Thanks so much! John and I love making the cabin friendly for our guests and their pets. I have found if your dog is happy, you will be too! I take pride in making sure that the cabin is well equipped. John and I have tried to have on hand everything you might need to make your stay stress free. There is nothing worse than needing something on vacation and having to spend valuable time at a store or purchasing things that you only need for a couple of days.

Home Away From Home

Guest: Meg & Pat (Marietta,GA)
Date of Stay: 08/03/10 Review Submitted: 08/13/10

My family decided to skip the beach this year to head to the mountains. We could not have asked for a better family vacation, We arrived at the cabin with gifts from the owners and a kind note. We have never arrived at any rental with such a warm welcome. My two young children (2 & 5 years old) and our furry pal Sandy had an absolute blast. This pet friendly cabin is not like most - it has nice decor. Other than bringing child proof door knob covers so our two year old would not escape without our knowledge and getting groceries, there was seriously nothing else we needed for the cabin. It was completely stocked, clean, well furnished and private. Hearing, playing and fishing in the creek was so relaxing and an adventure for the kids. We headed to all the local rivers and lakes and ended our day in the hot tub. We spent 5 days and would have loved to extend if our 5 year old was not starting school! On a last note, Sally and John were extremely professional and kind. We cannot wait to return this fall or winter.

Owner response:Thank you to Meg, Pat, Sloan, Patrick and Sandy! These guests were so sweet they even left us a gift! That was a nice surprise and very much appreciated.

Wonderful Weekend

Guest: Jon (Duluth)
Date of Stay: 07/15/10 Review Submitted: 07/18/10

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! It was exactly what we needed; quiet and away from all of the traffic. The floor plan (all on one floor) was perfect, as we had my mother with us on this trip. The deck out back was fabulous. Huge trees and mountains in the distance made the views specacular. We WILL be back! Oh, and did I say, I have NEVER seen a cabin so well outfitted! We lacked for nothing. Sally, thanks for your hospitality -- Everythig was perfect when we arrived. We can't wait to come again soon.

Owner response:Thanks Jon! We love our little piece of heaven. The layout of the cabin is wonderful. You enter at street level and it is all on one level. The picture on VRBO is of the back deck that looks down to the creek. The hot tub is on the lower level decking.

We had a great time. When we arrived we found a note and some goodies from our friends and when we called them they said how wonderful you were to help them out. The cabin was more than we hoped for, everything we needed and thanks for the gift. I had a great birthday and anniversary. We walked down to the creek and Bill "tried" to catch some fish! We ended up going to a trout farm and had a good experience there. It was overcast and raining on and off all week-end, but hasn't stopped us from enjoying the cabin and woods. Also the bed was very comfortable. We've been in some cabins that the bed was hard as a rock - anyway, thanks for sharing your home with us. God Bless.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin home with us! This truly is a peaceful place. There is nothing more relaxing than listening to water running over the rocks in the creek. Sally, we really appreciate all of "the home touches" including the board games. They were perfect for rainy nights with our nine year old little boy. Thank you for the thoughtful anniversary gift. We will always remember our "Cozy Cabin Trip"
