Our home, Lichhavi Grove, is set amid an acre of well-tended botanical garden with bamboo groves, ponds and rivulets, where one can quietly sit to admire the beauty of the hills surrounding the Valley or gaze at night-time upon the lights of Kathmandu below.

We have personally designed the home and gardens and moved into our home in 2000. The 4,000 feet interiors are spacious and well-lit, with sliding glass door views from all sides into the surrounding semi-tropical garden. There are five large bedrooms, sleeping 7 to 9 guests, with 4.5 bathrooms, plus spacious, comfortable living, dining and family rooms, as well as a fine library, as well as diverse DVD and CD selections.

There is a tea house a few steps outside by the fish pond, where one can sit with friends to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

This is a perfect meditative home from which to visit the ancient historical sites of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur or attend Buddhist teachings at Boudha or hike into the natural realms of the 8,000 feet Shivapuri National Park, 15 minutes walk from our front door.

For families, tourists, students or academics, there is not a more peaceful setting in the Kathmandu Valley from which to explore the unique and always remarkable Nepali world around you.

From the meandering cows grazing in the fields outside to the bustle of the burgeoning city below, Lichhavi Grove is a peaceful garden home from which to enjoy and observe the absorbing Himalayan world around you.
