This unique log home originally was built in 1915 by a former Michigan City Mayor, and has recently been renovated. It features four sunny bedrooms and sleeps up to 11 people. Sleeping accommodations include one queen-size bed, two full beds, two twin beds, a pull out queen sofa/sleeper, and a day bed. You can see the Lake from a window in the master bedroom
There are three full bathrooms and a full service eat-in kitchen. The living room features a beautiful fieldstone gas fireplace and exposed original log walls. There are hardwood floors throughout the house. The house includes a sunroom, a full front porch from which you can look down the street and see a peek of the Lake, a rear deck with gas grill and outdoor fireplace, and second two-tier deck with Lake views in a beautifully landscaped back living space. Although there is a pet in residence in the off season (Siamese cat), pets are NOT allowed during the rental season. No smoking is ever allowed.
Nestled in unique Sheridan Beach, the log house can be your stress-free vacation haven. Sheridan Beach provides miles of unspoiled world-class beaches. Your days can be spent playing on the beach with your family or you may choose to take advantage of the many activities within walking distance in Michigan City. Explore the picturesque lighthouse, go fishing off the pier, play a match of tennis or simply walk to the beach and lolligag in the sand and water.
A VERY short drive (or a even a walk for some) can bring you to The Blue Chip Casino, Lighthouse Place Outlet Mall and fishing and sailing charters. The Four Winds Casino is a bit farther away, about twenty minutes. Thursday evenings are filled with the sounds of the free outdoor band concerts in nearby Washington Park, which also hosts frequent summer music, art, and ethnic festivals. End your days at the beach watching beautiful sunsets silhouetting the skyline of Chicago.
A ten to twenty minute drive brings you to the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore featuring 8500 acres of Lake Shore, bogs, forests, and enormous living sand dunes. Park rangers often lead special tours and hikes to help you learn about the regions unique ecology. Other nearby activities nearby include antiquing, golf, horseback riding, historic homes tours, and live summer theater. We are located only two blocks from the Lake Michigan shores and three blocks (one of which is quite long) from Washington Park and the Zoo.
