Radicondoli house description

Il fienile di Colletalli is an ancient barn restored and converted into the most beautiful and unique spa resort; the Barn perfectly combines rural semplicity, functionality and all modern comforts. It sits on a peaceful hill surrounded by the stunning, wild nature of the Colline Metallifere, one of the most beautiful unknown, authentic and unpretentious parts of Tuscany.

In the Villa, there are 3 bedrooms and in the fourth room there is a double sofa-bed, in all the four rooms there is a private entrance and private bathroom; a large living room, a private and exclusive health spa for guest's use, a terrace, a garden, a pool;

The Barn offers many choises: relax in the health spa, a romantic honeymoon, a journey into wine and gastronomy, a tour to the main art cities, or simply some private time to relax and revitalise in the beautiful tuscan countryside

The area offers plenty of outdoors activities, great food and wine and being il Fienile less than an hour motoring away from fascinating Italian art cities such as Florence, Siena and San Gimignano, Volterra, cultural curiosity can easily be satisfied.

the Barn is only 5 minutes drive from Radicondoli, a perfectly preserved Medieval town surrounded by its original walls where you can get your daily shopping done.

                    We had three couples on our trip when we stayed at the Barn in October. The Villa was as described and more! We all had space to ourselves yet the common living room/dining table was a great space to come together. The fireplace was perfect, given we had a few stormy nights during the week. The beds were comfortable and the spa area divine. One couple took advantage of the steam shower and sauna daily. Luca was exceptional - friendly and always available, if needed. The way to and from the Villa is not for the faint at heart/ or for folks who are easily car sick but we enjoyed the adventure and trips to nearby Radicondoli. A favorite morning wake up were the sheep moving through the fields in back of the house with their shepherd and watch dogs. Really lovely property! I give it the highest marks and would love to return!

                    The barn is nestled in a quiet tucked away location just outside the Hilltop town of Radicondoli. The view from this property is spectacular, we arrived at our villa to find wine and homemade bread waiting for us. The pictures accurately reflect the rustic charm and tranquility of this property. The Barn is centrally located and offers convenient day trips to: beaches, wineries, and for touring the Tuscany countryside and villages. Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class it was well worth the cost and our Chef Emilliano and his beautiful assistant Alyssa were amazing. The best part of staying at this property was the owner, Luca. Luca answered all of our many questions, he was very helpful in suggesting day trips for our group. Overall he was a very gracious and hospital host.

                    Owner response: Hi, thank you for your feedback, i'm very happy that you loved the locations and your holiday in Tuscany. I hope to see you again in the States and visit and eating and cooking again with you. Luca the second.

                    We stayed at the barn for a week and had a wonderful time! The house is amazing, the sauna and steam room are a nice extra. The place was very clean. Luca and Emiliano were both very helpful and responsive before and during our stay. Luca even did some extra baby proofing to the house before we got there. I would definitely recommend staying at the barn and ask Emiliano to cook, one of the best meals we've had in Tuscany!!! The only downside is that it is not as centrally located to visit some of Tuscany's major attractions. Siena is only 40 min away but other cities are a pretty long drive which when traveling with young children can become a challenge.

Bravo!

                    There were 3 couples in my group and we absolutely loved this home. The location and the views from the home made me feel like I was in a movie. In the morning when I saw the fog rising in the valleys and later when I saw a flock of sheep moving across the pasture, I was expecting music to start playing. We had a nice day by the pool, and some amazing home cooked meals in the kitchen, but we really enjoyed our time after dinner when we'd light the fire and we'd all sit around the wishing well fire place and talk and drink wine we picked up earlier in the day. The sauna and steam room also came in handy as we arrived in a rainy season. Although we used this location as a base camp and visited a number of locations such as Pienza, Maltacino, Sienna, San Gigmignano, and Volterra, I loved Radicondoli. Radicondoli is the quiet charming little Italian town made from story books with windy narrow streets, great little restaurants and views of the Tuscan landscape that take your breath away. The home was absolutely beautiful... we'd definitely recommend this home as a great base camp.

                    we booked the barn for 3 days in march and ended up staying another day. The barn certainly doesn't feel like a barn. It's very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The owners were very nice and even made a beautiful tart for my birthday as well as left a bottle of sparking wine and a fruit basket. we used the steam shower every night and enjoyed the views from all the rooms. the town of Radicondoli was charming and only a few minutes drive and the drive on the nearby roads were beautiful. we had 3 couples and 1 baby on trip and had plenty of privacy and space. The place is great!!

                    Owner response: We are very pleased to hear that Dale and his family enjoyed the barn so much We have done our best to make our guests' experience as rewarding as possible. And i'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed also the steam bath during the night, because this is a rare possibility during holidays in renting villa. As Dale said Radicondoli and Belforte the nearest villages are charming and a you can try a plunge in the middle age century. Finally March and April are good months for visiting Tuscany with a private spa in the villa.

                    We visited Tuscany and this villa mid-September, 2012. The six of us had been planning this trip for over 2 years and when we finally experienced the Tuscan landscape it was like a dream come true. The trip up to the villa was beautiful, maybe a little breath-taking for us over 60 year olds. The villa is just like in the photos. While the structure is historical, the inside was immaculate and up-to-date. The pool was an oasis. While we never saw boar (I think it was open season at that time) we had a sheep herder come by in the back field each day. What a buccolic scene. Lucca, the owner, was a charming host, who met us bearing gifts of Chianti and warm-from-the-oven breakfast cake (thanks to his wife!). Emiliano, the agent was very quick to come by when we had questions on setting up the computer. We always felt we could get answers if we needed. We visited the nearby town of Radicondoli only once because we found it challenging to drive out of the town. It was truly old and beautiful, though. The bedrooms fit 6-8 if you don't mind doubling up. We found ourselves touring one day and enjoying the villa the next. The spa was enticiing and we certainly enjoyed that. We also went for walks in the area to hunt for great views, take pictures of boar foot prints or see the wild crocuses and other Fall flowers. We drove to the hill towns of San Gimignano and Volterra one day, Siena another day and Moltacino another. It is centrally located for sure. Driving in Tuscany is not for the faint hearted though. To say the roads are narrow is an understatement. All the more reason to find some good local cheese, bread, olives and wine dine under the pergola at the villa, and just enjoy the Tuscan countryside from the comfort of your own villa.

                    We spent a week in what they called a "barn",. Let me tell that this was built by the gentleman that owns it. This very beautiful stone house. We were traveling with two other couples. The three bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, were a great refuge after a day of touring the Tuscan country side. The great room (kitchen, dining and living room) was perfect for all that we needed. A car is required for this area. Radicondoli and Belforte are the closest towns. In Radicondoli we had a number of great dining experiences at the Grandiere Pizzeria ( trust me it was much more than a pizzeria. they had a very good menu and wine list). The owners are Mossimo and Christina. They also do cooking lessons which we also enjoyed. We used this wonderful house as our base and traveled to 6 or 7 other villages/town in the region. There are plenty of interesting sites and hill sides that are covered with vineyards, lemon and olive orchards. All of the people that we met were very friendly and helpful.I can't say any more. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the barn-House. We were there in cooler fall days so we chose not to use the pool and we didn't use the sauna's, although they looked very nice.I can imagine relaxing by the pool soaking up the Tuscan sun. All six of us highly recommend this property.

                    I highly recommend staying at the Barn for families or a group of friends. The barn was nicely restored with all the amenities and more a person would need while staying. The pictures shown are very true to the actual site, but even better in person. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms and the friendliness of the owner and staff, who were very helpful. The view and privacy of the barn are fantastic, yet within a 5 minute drive to Radicondoli. We loved our stay here and wish we had more time to spend at the Barn and in the Tuscany region! Traveling from the Barn to other hill towns was very easy, but a car is definitely needed while visiting here. We hope to return again someday soon.
