Looking for a great vacation destination at the beach? We have a beautiful pier home in Oceanside Village at Surfside Beach, a private gated community with 24 hour security. We have 4 fishing lakes, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, bocce court, large softball field, a playground for small children, and 2 pools--one indoor and one outdoor (both with kiddie pools). There is also a Fitness Center on site. There is a $25.00 charge per person per week. Open 5 AM until 10 PM each day.
Our home, located at 1938 Avocet, features two bedrooms with two full bathrooms. The master bath was remodeled in 2007, and features a large walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed and cable TV. 2nd bedroom has a double bed and a single bed and new bedroom furniture including new mattresses (May, 2010). The living room has a queen sleeper sofa and two recliners. It also features a 32" TV with DVD and VCR. There is also a CD/AM/FM stereo in the living room. New carpeting and linoleum was installed in September, 2010.
Our kitchen contains all the comforts of home with a microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, garbage disposal, dishwasher, etc. The washer and dryer are downstairs in the storage room.
We have beach chairs, umbrellas, and some sand toys for your convenience. There are also 3 bicycles in the storage room--two 26" and one 20". Please make sure there is sufficient air in the tires before riding.
We also have a golf cart available for rent for $100 per week. YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD with a valid drivers license to operate the golf cart--NO EXCEPTIONS. Golf carts are also available for rent at the front office. There is a parking lot on the beach for OSV guests. Restrooms are located in the parking lot.
We ask that you provide your own linens and paper products. If you don't have king sheets, we have some you can use. Please leave our home in the condition you found it since there is no maid service. There is no smoking in the house, so please smoke on the porch or deck.
We rent from Saturday to Saturday. Dogs are allowed, and we require a non-refundable pet deposit. ($50 PER DOG)
We require a $200 refundable security deposit. A $400 deposit is required for confirmation. The balance is due 15 days prior to your scheduled arrival.

We bought a home in Oceanside Village in 1986 so I could bring my dog to the beach without a lot of hassle. We now have 2 labs who love to go on vacation! We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do, and if you bring your dog, take him/her to the beach after 5pm and play! We now own another rental in OSV, The Getaway, that is also listed on VRBO. My family has stayed in OSV for years and this is one of the BEST homes we have ever rented! The owners have thought of everything you need for that perfect vacation. We especially loved riding the bikes and of course the golf cart makes beach trips very nice. My 13 year-old son loved the Gamecock decor ~ now we see why it's called "The Roost"! Thanks again for the rental of your lovely home.

WE JUST RETURNED FROM OSV, THE HOUSE WE WERE RENTING HAD PROBLEMS THE FIRST 2 DAYS OF OUR VACATION, THE OWNERS OF THE ROOST RENTED THEIR HOUSE TO US FOR 2 DAYS- LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS, PHYLLIS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP US OUT. THE ROOST WAS NICE, VERY WELL EQUIPPED, REALLY ALL YOU NEED TO BRING ARE CLOTHES, LINENS, PAPER GOODS, AND PERSONAL ITEMS, THEY EVEN PROVIDE BEACH TOYS, GOLF CART, AND BIKES. We had an awesome time at the beach house. We have stayed in many places in Oceanside Village and the updated bathroom was really nice. Thank you for being pet friendly. It was clean and very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable, we were very pleased with our stay in "The Roost." Love the updated master bathroom. The kids loved the king size bed! We will consider staying again if we make a small family trip as we did this year.

My family and I love this rental. We have stayed here many times and will continue to vacation at "The Roost"! This rental is within walking distance to the beach, the community area, the baseball field, the indoor pool and the park. My 12 year old son loves having the ability to go fishing in the nearby ponds. My 18 year old daughter likes that she can just pack up and head to the beach. My husband and I utilize the golf cart rental so we can get away by ourselves and go to dinner at The Conch. We also will just drive around the village in the late afternoon for some quiet time away from the children. I have recommended this rental to many of my family and friends who have enjoyed an inexpensive vacation! By the way being "dog friendly" is great!
