Alpenglow Chalet - This beautifully constructed new home is located well within Yosemite National Park entrance gates, just 8 miles from Yosemite's Valley floor. It is located at 4200 feet elevation in the peaceful, quiet area of Foresta.
The Alpenglow Chalet has a spacious, well designed open floor plan, comfortable for eight people. Pride of ownership, attention to detail, quality, and cleanliness are evident throughout this home. This unique and comfortable home is so named after the beautiful reddish glow often seen on the sierra summits just after sunset, or just before sunrise.
The beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range views, with it's alpenglow at sunset, and awe inspiring starlit night skies, can be experienced from the decks of this home. These awesome views were opened up in part by the 1990 fire that swept through some areas of Foresta, which has now seen rapid new growth of 20 - 40 foot pine and oak trees. A spectacular year-round waterfall is an easy one mile hike from the house.

We have been lucky enough to stay at this beautiful house twice over the past few years for family gatherings. Its a very large and well-appointed house- lots of space, perfect for families! The location is phenomenal- so close to Yosemite Valley, its simply amazing. It takes just a quick drive to get to spectacular hikes in the Valley. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need to cook a gourmet meal, and if you need a missing ingredient, it is a fairly quick drive to the store in the Valley. Throughout the spacious house, there are large beautiful windows with beautiful views and lots of natural light. This house is at the end of the road in an already-private area of Foresta. There are a few nice hikes from the house itself. If you decide to relax after one of the countless hikes in Yosemite, the view from the deck on the house is great- a perfect place to relax. This house is super-clean and everything looks brand-new. There is no doubt that anyone who stays here is in for a treat!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We stayed in the Alpenglow for three days in the first week of November. The cabin had all the amenities and was a a wonderful place to return to after long hikes in the park. Total time from the cabin to the valley was about 10 minutes. New additions to the property include a rear patio with grill and a covered car port.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
