Haywood County has the highest elevation of any county in the east, elevation 3018 feet.It has 14 peaks higher than 6,000 feet. Rivers and springs are its own- *All water in Haywood County originates here.* Higher elevations provide this area with spectacular views, cooler temperatures and cleaner air. The Cliffhanger Rollercoaster is now open: Sept.24th/09. The "House of Horror" and the train that runs around the park and allows for great views of the mountains that surround Maggie is up and running. Great views from the train but the views from the top of the Rollercoaster, well, you will just have to see for yourselves! Mile after mile of rolling hills greet you just before you go speeding down and around sharp curves that give you the feeling you are going to be slung into Tennessee. *A rollercoaster with a thrill like no other.* **Views from the "top" of the mountain are breathtaking.**

Maggie Valley:central location to many activities; yet it still has
the feel of a quaint mountain town.Great mountain views. Maggie's restaurants-wide variety of foods, local shops-Jelly Belly's where the fudge is fantastic. Mountain golf, hiking, horseback riding, skiing, tubing, scenic drives,putt-putt and Ghost Town.
Due to its location there are many areas to visit while staying at the cabin:.
Cataloochee-view elk, historic homes, churches, Hike, picnic, flyfish or just enjoy the scenic drive. Gatlinberg/Dollywood only-an hour drive.Cades Cove, hike one of many trails. Ski in the Winter at Cataloochee Ski Resort,10 minutes from the cabin.Fall colors/Fall jams, jellies,Festivals.World class clogging,The Stomping Grounds,5 minutes from cabin.Appalachian and country style dance,Mountain music & popular music, Old time Fiddle & Contemporary.
Waynesville:unique galleries and restaurants-10 minutes,the real"Cold Mountain"-20 minutes, Cherokee-outdoor drama"Unto These Hills"-20 min.Harrah's-20 min.Asheville, Biltmore Estates-35 min. Gatlinberg-1hr.Cades Cove-45 min. Dollywood-1hr.10min. Nantahala,whitewater rafting-40 min.Carl Sandburg Home & Flat Rock Theater,(wonderful plays)-15 min.
A great day trip:
-pack a picnic lunch & lots of drinks,(cooler in the cabin for guests to use),gas up the car and head for Brevard, the "Land of the Waterfalls." The ride there and back is breath-taking and a great way to see the mountains. Stop along the way and slide at Sliding Rock. It is a natural slide down into a pool of cool mountain water. Life guards on duty, only a small fee. This ride will take you along winding rivers where you will see many flyfishermen. The road takes you along beautiful and magnificient waterfalls. Stop, walk under the falls, picnic, hike one of many trails and then head back for the comfort of the cabin. Scrap-book in the cabin, information about places to visit, little tidbits you may want to know, maps and directions.

The Unique Benefits at this Chalet

One of my favorite things to do while at the cabin is to enjoy quiet evenings grilling or sitting out on the front deck in the wooden rockers enjoying the cool mountain breezes. There is plenty of room for children to play or for family walks. There is a play area with a slide, swings and an open field for running and playing while parents sit in the rockers on our front deck, enjoying a cup of fresh brewed coffee after enjoying another great day of activities in the Great Smoky Mountians. The cabin is easy access all seasons, no steep hills to drive and fully paved right up to the door with paved parking.
If you travel by motorcycle, car or have a trailor you will have no problem with access. Plus the drive to the cabin is beautiful. We have been blessed with this mountain home. It is as we like to say,"As close to heaven as you can get with two feet on the ground."
We are 2 miles from Ghost Town.
On July 4th.'2009'the "Cliffhanger",rollercoaster opened. It goes 52 miles an hour. It feels as if you are going to go off the side of the mountain. (The views are unbelievable as you travel up to the top and then "drop" down at tremendous speeds.) You pay one price, and if you are brave enough, you can ride it as many times as you like. There is not another ride like this in the South East. It is a scary ride, a beautiful ride,(you can see mile after mile of mountains from the top), and one you will never forget. I know, I rode the first rollercoaster up at Ghost Town many years ago! I still remember the feeling of dropping off the side the mountain and being slung around at tremendous speeds. I thought I just might land in Tennessee.
Everyone should ride it at least once! Just to know the thrill! There are rides, can-can dancers, shows and shops:A one of a kind Western theme park with cowboys, a shoot out and even an undertaker. A great, old fashion family oriented experience for all ages, LOts of fun! It's like stepping into the past!

Owner's Map of Maggie Valley

Maggie Valley Chalet
Our chalet is clean and well maintained.(I am an RN, these things are important.)We want your stay to pass your expectations. We have great family memories here & hope you soon will too! The chalet is very comfortable & close to many attractions. We all need to get away and head for the hills sometimes, and I do every chance I get.
My name is Rebecca and not only do I handle the rentals for the chalet, but I also love Flyfishing. Just one of many outdoor activities that can be enjoyed while staying at the chalet.
The cabin was bought by Mary and Jesse Carraway.
My parents, two people with deep faith and a respect for conservation, the enjoyment of the mountains and all its natural resources. Values they have passed along to thier children and grandchildren. My father is still healthy & enjoys going up to the cabin with our family. We keep the cabin in top shape. We want our guests to feel welcome and comfortable.(Often when guests leave, I get a call saying they enjoyed thier stay. Mostly due to the many conveniences and that little touch that says,"WE care, we want your stay to be fun, comfortable and relaxing."
Please sign guest book in the cabin.
We have a very efficient maintenance service that ensures the cabin is clean and ready when guests arrive. They are only a phone call away should any need arise during your stay.
My father, myself and our entire family visit the cabin frequently which ensures eveything is well maintained.
We love our cabin in Maggie Valley and we love Maggie Valley; our hope is that our guests will too.
We would like to say "Thank You" to all our past guests
and to those of you who will be staying with us for the first time.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Rebecca
