Welcome to La Luna, a magical collection of romantic eco boutique cabañas, hidden away on the beach near Tulum. We are situated on the main beach road that runs to Boca Paila and Punta Allen (approx 6.8 km) and easy to find. When you get to Tulum from Cancun airport (1.5 hrs) take a left at the 1st traffic light direction Boca Paila. When you hit the beach road after approx 5 kms take a right to Boca Paila and Punta Allen. After approx. 1.8 km just look for the large blue doors on the left side of the road and a moon ("Luna") signaling our driveway.
La Luna is located on a beautiful stretch of more than 50 meters (165 feet) of beach frontage and well over an acre in size. Accommodations consist of 7 very special & romantic cabanas, 5 situated right on the beach with a unique view of the beautiful blue ocean and 2 in the lush La Luna gardens. The names reflect the very different, unique style and atmosphere each of these cabanas provide.
Robinson Crusoe - A rustic, yet elegant cabana for 2 with queen bed, private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink, and adjacent wooden deck with chairs, dining table and hammocks overlooking the ocean
Christopher Columbus - A very colorful cabana for 2 with queen bed, private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink, and adjacent wooden deck with chairs, dining table and hammocks overlooking the ocean
Casablanca - A very romantic Moroccan style cabana sleeping 2. The cabana features a king size bed, a spacious bathroom with beautiful shower, toilet and sink as well as a private deck with chairs, dining table and hammocks overlooking the ocean
Marrakech - A large and beautifully decorated cabana in turquoise with artistic murals and private outside stairway, sleeping 2-4. Marrakech has high ceilings, two sleeping areas (both with queen bed), separated by a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink, 2 large balconies overlooking the jungle and full ocean view
Captain Dale's Beach House - Our Beautiful Belizean style beach house sleeping 2-6, with 1 king size bed downstairs & 2 queen beds on open lofts, connected by an artistic wooden walkway. It has a spacious bathroom with 2 sinks, a large shower and toilet, large private deck with chairs, dining table, hammocks, and private stairs to the beach
Zanzibar - A large, rustic, African style 2-bedroom groundfloor cabana located in the La Luna gardens, with a queen and a single (day)bed per room, bathroom with sink, shower and toilet between the 2 rooms.
Cuckoo's Nest - A rustic topfloor 2-bedroom cabana located in the La Luna gardens, with a queen bed in each room and bathroom with sink, shower and toilet between the 2 rooms.
Zanzibar and Cuckoo's Nest are located a bit further back on the property in the midst of lush gardens, and share an outdoor lounge area and equipped kitchen. They can be rented together and provide a perfect hideaway for groups or families of 8-10 people
NOTE THAT ALL CABANAS WERE BUILT & UNIQUELY DECORATED IN 2007!!
Each cabana is furnished with:
- Private bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, cold & hot water
- Bamboo "roofs" over beds with large Mosquito nets and fans inside for a nice breeze
- 24 hour Electricity (both solar panels and a wind generator)
- Linens, pillows and blankets
- Bath and beach towels
- Large drinking water reservoir
- Liquid soaps
- Ice chest (with ice on demand)
The property has the following general amenities:
- Daily cleaning of cabanas
- Open air "al fresco" kitchen where Elvia and Rodrigo prepare breakfast and dinner
- Barbecue kitchen
- Large natural rock dining tables located under a massive seagrape tree
- Outdoor fresh water shower
- Hammocks
Optional services at additional charge:
- Airport transfers - $115 for 2 via Tucan Kin
- Groceries (soda/beer/eggs/bread/veggies etc) - $10 fee plus cost
- Use of kitchen in case it does not interfere with La Luna staff - $10-40 for cleaning

Our local staff can help you arrange for these and many more amenities as well as solve
any problems which could arise.
NOTE: There is a three night minumum stay. During the Christmas holiday period, only
weekly rentals can be made. Rates are including taxes
Reservation/cancellation policy:
We request a 50% deposit via credit card and/or paypal to secure the reservation. The
balance needs to be paid in full 2 weeks before your stay. In case of cancellation up to 60 days before the actual reservation, we will refund 50% of the actual paid deposit (ie 25% of the total booking price). In case of cancellations within 60 days of the start of the reservation period, no refunds will be given, but half of the deposit can be used for
another stay for up to a year after the start date of the initial reservation.
Check-in time is 3:00pm, check-out time is 12am. Guests arriving after 8pm should
announce this in advance so that we can arrange for a welcome.

Why the Owner Chose Tulum
What if you could wash ashore on a beautiful tropical island with a group of friends and you would build yourself a cosy little settlement of colourful decorated, wooden houses right there on the beach? What if a local Mama would prepare lunches and dinners with local ingredients fresh from the sea and the gardens, serving it in the little village square? What if you could create your own electricity and water supply and be completely self sufficient? Wouldn't that be a fairy tale come true? We thought so, so we bought a piece of beautiful beach land in Tulum (Mexico) and created our dream. It is the dream we want to share with you. Our own little magical island of authenticity: La Luna. La Luna is build like a tiny little village. Private, elegant, warm and friendly with a nice central gathering place where you can enjoy our local fresh dishes with our other guests.

Come to magical La Luna and enjoy a fairy tale come true! Since we are small privately owned boutique hotel offering our guests a unique holiday experience - providing perfect service is a key focus area for us.
Our European cook, Jacob, can prepare various international dishes with a Mexican touch in a very romantic dining area in a secluded garden. On your request we can also serve your diner on your private deck or on the beach or arrange for traditional Mexican meals prepared by Rodrigo and his mother. Furthermore, La Luna is a perfect place for a small intimate yet very romantic wedding. We have a beautiful spot on our dune where the wedding ceremony can be performed. This can either be an official wedding by a local judge, a traditional Mayan wedding or if you choose to perform your legal wedding at home you can choose your own wedding ceremony or have a renewal of vows. Anything is possible, some of our guests even bring their own priest or minister! Best hour for the ceremony is around 4 PM with drinks served at sunset...
Tulum is known for its beautiful beaches and Ancient Mayan Ruins. It is only a 40 minute ride to the amazing jungle ruins of Coba, and 2 hours distance from the majestic Chichen Itza. Though much smaller in size, the Tulum Ruins is the third most visited historical site in all of Mexico, and you will know why when you visit. Aside from exploring the history and culture of this beautiful region of Mexico, there are endless activities and adventures waiting to be discovered and enjoyed by you.

We are Hanne Jesca and Victor, the proud owners of magical La Luna, in Tulum Mexico. We live in the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands and combine our busy day jobs in Holland with managing La Luna, some 7500 miles away on the other site of the Atlantic ocean. For us every day in our short lives is a new day, with its own unique opportunities and challenges, which needs to be lived at its full intensity. We like to live our dreams and Cabanas La Luna is one of those dreams. We got married on the dunes of La Luna with over 50 family and friends from Holland, the US and Mexico on December 31, 2007. It was a wonderful day and it proved once more to us that La Luna is truely special, because it was build with love, our love and the love of our new mexican friends who work with full devotion day after day at La Luna to make our guests at La Luna to feel at home and special...
