My sisters and a friend and I rented the cabin for a fun "girls' week" away from the husbands and kiddos. We had a great time! The shopping in Minocqua is always relaxing, and there's never a lack of fun things to do around the cabin. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, listening to the loons, and watching the bald eagles soar overhead. The cabin itself was perfect because it allowed togetherness while still being large enough for each us to have our own bedroom and personal space. The kitchen is perfectly adequate for cooking simple meals, but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby if you'd rather not cook. Other cabins I've rented didn't provide all the little conveniences of this one. The fact that simple things like paper goods, spices, and cooking utensils are already provided makes packing much easier! If you want to explore the local area, you MUST go to Copper Falls State Park about 1 1/2 hours north. It is simply breathtaking!

We recently returned from a wonderful week (July 19-26, 2008) at Four Sisters Point cottage (our third visit in four years). It is a very private getaway on a peaceful lake, far enough away from the sometimes busy town of Minocqua, but still close enough to enjoy the many restaurants, etc. available in the area. There were 3 generations of our family, ranging from 2 to 58 years old. The kids had a great time fishing from the rowboat, playing on the beach, and sitting around the campfire. The adults enjoyed boating on this beautiful northwoods lake and just relaxing. We are all looking forward to returning next year.

August 2005-We just spent a wonderful week at Four Sisters Point. The cabin was spotless and very comfortable. The kids and hubby were asking about coming back in 2006 the moment they came back from fishing the first day! Mornings were my favorite--waking up to the loons calling and sitting on the deck watching the hummingbirds. Thanks for sharing this wonderful family cabin.

From the guestbook: Each of us absolutely loved arriving here--such a charming and beautiful place! It was fun to scour through all the books and pick out things to read. We enjoyed all the North Woods rustic decor and decorative pieces. Lake Katherine is a favorite lake of ours, and this location is wonderful! A fantastic point! This is the second time we've spent a vacation together in the Northwoods as a family. We couldn't think of a more lovely spot to unwind and spend special moments together. The historic cabin, gorgeous surroundings, and central location made this a vacation to remember. We loved that the cabin was set back in the woods. How special for other families to enjhoy together a pristine spot that's been in the same family for so long! Thanks for a fun week!

From the guestbook: We discovered this place on the internet and, even though there were detailed photographs of the cabin and surrounding property, they did not convey the secluded beauty of this place. I think all of us found ourselves restored in some way or another after this trip. Whether we were relaxing on the deck, swimming by the dock, or falling asleep to the calls of the loons, we found this place to be special. Thank you for sharing this special place with us.

From the guestbook: We fished a lot, and the old man caught a nice walleye. Barbequed every night, watched the hummingbirds, and enjoyed the quiet. We found a real estate agent and he showed us several properties, but we were spoiled--couldn't find anything as beautiful as this. What a beautiful place. The cabin and surroundings certainly gave us the feeling of being in touch with nature. Thanks for sharing the cabin, lake and surroundings with us.

From the guestbook: Your vacation cabin is a perfect place for relaxation--beautiful house, perfect beach, and beautiful views. We had a wonderful time fishing--caught rock bass. We also saw musky wimming by the pier. Had relaxing time on the deck while watching the hummingbirds. The beautiful lake and trees make us appreciate our God's creation even more! We had been praying for a great family time and your cabin answered our prayer.

From the guestbook: Sunsets are jewled and bright and breathtaking. Listen to the lake water lapping on shore. The forest around is light and full--listen for the birds that give the far-off call of the North Woods.

My family and I had a wonderful vacation here! The cabin is close enough to town for a quick trip for any reason, but secluded enough that you don't feel crowded by other vacationers. The cabin is beautifully cared for and very "homey." You'll never want to leave! My two boys (5 and 9), normally couch-potatoes at home, spent all days outside and never even thought about TV. The lake views from every room are wonderful. I plan to come back next year!

From the guestbook: What a great week we have had! The atmosphere is SO relaxing. Beautiful, clear, sunny skies, great views of the lake, beautiful sunrises over the lake (which we can see simply by opening our eyes--great view from the bedroom window). Deck-sitting, wine-sipping, Trivial Pursuit in front of the fire, great talks and long laughs have made this one of the best vacations ever.

Our September visit has been a delight. Though we thought we might miss the best of summer, there were still days warm enough for swimming and pleasant evenings on the deck. On cooler or rainy nights, the fireplace provides a cozy atmosphere. The place is tranquil, with few other boats sharing our beautiful lake and star-filled nights. The birds are still here, hummingbirds, loons, hawks and woodpeckers. There is a stunning variety of mushrooms around the property. We're not knowledgeable enough to try eating any, but we are delighted by the variety of shapes and sizes and colors, from reds and yellows to bright white and purply-gray. In September, the height of tourist season has passed, so shopping is uncrowded and the sounds of nature prevail.

Four Sisters Point Cottage is beautiful! What a relaxing spot for a vacation. We took four of our five sons with us and had an incredible time. The cabin is cozy, but not crowded. It's a GREAT getaway! We're definitely going back, but this time probably with another couple. Thanks, Mary, for letting us use your family cabin! We'll be back!

From the guestbook: You have a beautiful cottage in a very nice, secluded area... Lake Katherine is a wonderfully peaceful and clear lake. The 15-year-olds tubed and skiied. I caught 6 walleye just north of the cottage. The cottage is wonderful.
