Laverne is a one-bedroom historic cottage perched above McMenamins St. Francis School with incredible views of downtown and a spacious outdoor deck. The house was originally a parsonage for the church but now boasts a slightly less austere identity. The 1950s inspired kitchen has tile countertops, a gas range, and built-in formica booth seating.
The bedroom is complemented by vaulted ceilings and high transom windows providing tons of natural light. The living room is adjacent to a windowed alcove providing mountain views and sleeping accommodations for an additional two people on a queen futon. This house is comparatively small at 650 square feet but enjoys a unique vantage point and is surrounded by windows affording privacy in every direction.
The floors are original oak and marmoleum. The bedding is all allergen-free, and we use high thread count sheeting, blankets, and duvets (all of which are washed between guests). Laverne is equipped with a washer/dryer, a gas stove, gas range, TV, wireless internet, fully-stocked kitchen, and gas grill on the incredible deck.
Laverne is pet-friendly and enjoys a small, covered, fenced yard accessed through a spiral staircase off the deck. There is off-street parking for a single vehicle and ample street parking on either Lava Road or Georgia Ave.
Rentals include free access to McMenamins Old St. Francis School Turkish Soaking Pool and Movie Theatre. We provide towels and instructions inside the home. |
