The condo easily lived up to our highest expectations and to the VRBO listing description. The owner was solicitous and catered to our every whim. Because it was a wedding weekend, lots of family were at Mauna Kea and we were able to have a large dinner party, utilizing the spacious dining room and lanai dinner tables. The kitchen was more than well-equipped. The ocean view and sunsets could not have been better. If you don't shop at Costco (4 miles from the airport), then we would recommend the market at Waikoloa Village for a good selection and decent prices.

My husband and I, and ou 15 and 17 year old boys spent 5 magical nights here in August 2010. We have been to Hawaii (Maui and Big Island) almost 10 times. We have stayed at the Four Seasons and Kona Village, as well as many other resorts and condos. This unit has been the best condo. The three bedrooms were layed out spaciously so we were not on top of ne another. The decorations were just my taste, eclectic from the front porch to every room detail. The kitchen was fully stocked, every utensil needed to prepare a wonderful meal. Very quiet unit, steps away from pool and work out room. The views were amazing. You do not want to miss a sunset while staying here. The use of the Mauna Kea resort as well as Hapuna was a definite plus. Highly recommend for the picky traveler. If you like to feel pampered when traveling, then this is the place. Enjoy!!

Wonderful Family Vacation in Beautiful Unit

My husband and our 2 kids (4yr,8yrs) stayed here for 2 weeks in July and had a wonderful time. We are a well traveled family and very picky about resorts and condos. A few things that make this unit particularly great were 1)) location, the bottom unit unobstructed view directly on the golf-course is simply gorgeous and it's walking distance to the common-area walt-water pool which is a huge bonus 2) the unit was extremely clean and well maintained and beautifully decorated, with stacks of fresh fluffy towels and lovely bathroom amenities, just as you would expect for a luxury resort with all the benefits of a condo 3) signing privledges at both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach hotels. You really get the best of both worlds, the space and convenience of a condo with the amenities and pampering of a 4-star resort. Other Big Island activities we loved: Late afternoon snorkel trip on the Fairwinds (very kid friendly), ATV ride to the waterfalls (ATV Outfitters), Imiloa Astronomy Center (with waterfall hikes along the way, well worth the drive).

My husband and I and another couple stayed here for 7 days. I have to say that the condo was just amazing - very comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. It was so easy to get to the beach, which was also beautiful and not crowded. The condo had all the necessities - we enjoyed cooking meals and eating on the lanai. We loved that we were far enough away from the crowds but close enough to drive into Kona for some night life. We would most definitely stay here again!!

This is an excellent location and a great condo. The view is perfect and the location is close to the community center which has a great pool and hot tub. You could not ask for a better kitchen and patio. This place is amazing and you will be glad you booked it! The ability to get on the resorts was a great plus, but we spent most of our meals on the staring at the sea from this happy spot.
Owner response:Thanks for the review...

My husband and I stayed at ths condo in Feb 2010 for a week. We tried to extend our stay for four more days because we loved the setting, theviews and the richness of the condo. It feels like a home, not a condo. The wrap around lanai was our solitude. We sat out on the comfy couch and watched whales and I do mean whales...like over 100 in a week. The outside space was perfect for reading, grilling or a nap!! The inside of this unit is what really sets it apart from others in the same complex. We saw two other units and this one is superior to either. The antiques, the pillow selection, the wonderful beds, the L'Occitane amenities...what a luxury! The kitchen is a gourmet cooks dream and the bathrooms are large and well lit. There is more than ample closet space and enough great hangers. There are tasteful black out window coverings, which are needed. You can sleep anytime in this modern personality unit. The view is unbelievable and there is no noise from a road or others. The only noise seemed to be golf course maintenance...which is done during the daytime and it is fine! The complex is a real treat...your private amenities building with a pool, workout room and large living area and kitchen if you choose to do a family get together on the premises. Many times, we were the only two there and it was like our own private club. I worked out on the treadmill and stepper and looked out on the gorgeous viws and had fresh air in my face the whole time...The two beaches you have access to with this unit are beautiful and a few minutes drive, We loved the Hapuna Prince Property due to ease and the staff at the pool and beach were outstanding. You just park and walk 3 minutes to the beach and it is right next to the State Park and so you get a great walk the beach experience! We also liked the Mauna Kea property with it's history and the beach is the best! We dined at both beach properties and it was delightful and the service was great. This unit comes with all of these amenities and many of the units charge 20 dollars daily for these privileges..The owners were easy andpleasant to work with and once on property, it was a breeze to get keys, parking passes, codes and whatever else you could possibly desire! I am talking with two girlfriends about going back to the North Kohla Coast and staying at this unit and property...absolutely....the best in the complex...I am inquisitive and I did check the place out...Just Do It!!! We had an amazing time! Your place is just beautiful and wonderful! We really enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and lanai kitchen and had many fabulous meals with fresh fish from the Kawaihai fish market. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were so nicely done, the whole place was furnished so tastefully. You have such a great place. We really enjoyed the beautiful, unobstructed sunset views. We used the community pool and work out area everyday which the kids really liked. It was so nice to swim in the salt water pool! Our favorite beach was the Mauna Kea and we went there nearly every day! It was just as we remembered it! It was so nice to be so close to it! The tennis courts there are also fabulous!! We did end up leaving some fairly nice boogie boards there, that we purchased at the Kawaihai dive shop. Do you ever keep anything like that for guests? We hope to go back next year, it was a wonderful family vacation! Thanks for all of your help and prompt responses whenever we had a question. It was greatly appreciated!

This condo is spacious and beautifully decorated with an incredibly well-equipped kitchen. It was great being on the ground floor so you could sit out on the spacious lanais or sunbathe in the large wrap around area, instead of just having a small balcony.

We've vacationed on the Kohala Coast many times but we won't return to the Big Island unless we can stay in this condo. Nothing else compares (including the newly renovated rooms at the Mauna Kea)!! This was our first VRBO experience and it exceeded expectations on every level. The owner is a true pleasure to work with and the unit itself is exceptional. Our party of 5 (2 parents, 2 kids ages 3 and 5 and 1 babysitter) were in heaven. The model home decor, breathtaking views, access to both Mauna Kea (best resort for parents and kids in my opinion and better than Four Seasons if you like a stunning beach) and Hapuna plus wonderful community center make it a sure thing. Next time we're booking for 2 weeks.

We have vacationed several times on Big Island and the Mauna Kea is the premier location and this condo was absolutely perfect. Every detail was thought out, from the quality construction to the wonderful upscale furnishings. This condo is a cut above any rental property we have stayed and has the very best location at Waiulaula. Highly recommend and we will be back again soon. Carla
