This spacious cabin on the Middle Fork was a wonderful retreat for a week in wild wonderful West Virginia. The listing is super accurate and everything was as advertised. The cabin is very spacious with a very large master suite with its own bathroom and whirlpool bath. There is a lot of room to move around for a family (we were six). The river is literally right out the back door if you like to be on the water. We experienced no problems at all during the entire week. The fire pit is a big highlight...we were around it every night. The owner is great...very helpful. Highly recommended!!!

Dan and family have provided a wonderful haven to escape the frantic realities of daily life. This place is wonderfully appointed with rustic accoutrements. We spent a week there but are still wishing for more! The place is just a few steps from the Middle Fork river with a very nice swimming hole right upstream as well as supporting a nice population of rock bass and smallmouth during summer months, I lost track of how many I caught and released! The fire pit with cooking grate on the patio is the way to spend the evening and to cook breakfast the next morning! What a place to recharge your batteries! The place is fully stocked with almost any cooking/dining equipment you may need as well as all your grilling tools. Hoping to get back next year! THANKS DAN ! The umbrella for the picnic table on the deck made for nice shade to read in and for our dogs to lounge in. Brother in law LOVED the hammock! The owner is fantastic to work with on your rental. We have had great success with VRBO rentals but this one was the absolute smoothest transaction to date! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the place and owner as an 11 ! With a little bit of driving there are many sights to see in this area, beautiful scenery! The top of the ridge at Dolly Sods is fantastic on a hot day!

Was a great place to get away from the active daily life and relax. Decor was beautiful and place was very clean with everything we needed. Able to spend family time without cell phone interruptions. Enjoyed climbing on rocks in river and did catch fish although not big there were fish there. We had campfires every night. Lots of fun!

I grew up in Buckhannon and have since moved away and started a family. We outgrew my mom's house years ago and have always been scrambling to find a place to stay when we visit WV. I have a 3 year old and 1.5 year old. The hotels in Buckhannon are sketchy at best and just not young children friendly. THis was the best of both worlds. About 15 minutes outside of Buckhannon, on a very secluded dirt road, steps from the river. We had family visit every day and had cookouts, swimming, tubing, etc. The house is maintained well and clean. The back deck and firepit are amazing and were used nightly. We could take walks in the early morning with the children down the road or through the woods- it was one of the best trips I've had home in years.

This was the perfect place for our family to spend a mini-vacation during our kids spring break. After a cold and snowy winter we needed to get outdoors and River's Edge was the right choice!! The weather was beautiful. I can still here the rushing water and crackling campfires. We took along bikes, four wheelers, fishing poles, and EVERYONE had a blast! Even our "fur baby" was able to come along with us on this trip. The cabin decor is awesome and the cabin inside and out is clean and tidy. We all had a great time and I would highly recommend this place--it is fun for all ages :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the spacious and relaxing Middlefork River retreat. It was an enjoyable time to visit with our son who attends college in the area. It was nice to relax and dine together. We visited the last weekend in September 2009 and it rained all weekend but we still had a great time. We are looking forward to returning soon to enjoy the outdoors.

Spent 4days/3nights with two high school friends to catch up with family and friends after 40 years. (Refer to Lynda in Hilliard). We had so much fun and time ran out before we were ready to leave! The beds were all very comfortable and I believe this was the best of the many times I have rented houses for family in several states. I have already recommended to several people - great for family get togethers with something for everyone.

This "cabin" (It's more of a home)was a perfect setting for three high school classmates to catch up on the last 40+ years. We were overwhelmed with the beautiful cabin and the setting as well. It is so private and peaceful and there is so much to enjoy right there at the cabin. You provided virtually everything we could possible have needed. Our time was spent around the fire pit (or the front porch when it rained) but there is plenty of ammenities for a more active group. A return trip is a definite possibility.

Simply wonderful!!! My husband and I celebrated the 20th anniversary of our wedding this past summer in this cabin. I felt as if we were visiting a family member's home because of all of the homey touches throughout the cabin. Not only was the cabin clean, it was comfortable and tastefully decorated both inside and out. Our only complaint was the fact that the cabin and its wonderful setting was so accommodating that we did not want to leave to see the local sights and hike! Each day of our stay at River's Edge began and ended at the firepit listening to the rushing waters of the MIddlefork River. This cabin is now my "gold standard" for which I will compare other rentals. I am looking forward to many more return visits to River's Edge Cabin!

We had a wonderful time, very relaxing. We really liked the decks and fire pit. River was up and was great to sit out there and hear the rushing or the river. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Spent an absolutely incredible long weekend in this fbaulous cabin. :oved the natural surroundings and laid back atmosphere, it was everything we had hoped for and then some. Our family of 4 & another family of 3 had plenty of room -- the kids loved it, the wives fell in love with it and my buddy & I drained some nice bottles of wine while staring into the serenity. I would go back tomorrow if I had the time & can only tell you if you enjoy quiet and relaxation, stay here!!!

Wow! Felt like I never wanted to leave from the moment I opened the rustic wooden door. A cabin retreat that was a treat. The river is beautiful. The sounds of rushing water so relaxing. I sat on the stone patio on chilly mornings with the fire going in the fire pit & drank my morning coffee. The kids spent all day playing in the river. Deer came and drank from the water as we watched. The house is roomy and inviting. Didn't mind cuddling up on the front porch with a good book when it rained. Absolutley lovely. Hated coming back to the real world!

Thank You for sharing your lovely cabin! We had a great stay. We had plenty of space and all the amenities we needed were there. The river was low, but we enjoyed it anyway. The porches, the decks, the firepit and the grill made our stay even more enjoyable. We hope to come back sometime. Connie, Lori and Wendy from Michigan June 07
Owner response:I am elated you had a good time. Be sure to check the website later in the year as we are adding new things all the time. We took inner-tubes, rafts, and picnic tables down today. Now, we need RAIN!
