We spent a perfect week in this beautiful house. The views from the house were beautiful. The house was welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen was a joy to prepare meals in. The hiking in the area was fun and the foliage was beautiful. We have only praise for Murphy's Guesthouse.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We had a great time spending labor day weekend in your home. The apple tree and creek in your back yard were hits with our 2 1/2 yr old.Perfect spot for our family to gather and relax. Thanks so much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We've visited the Murphey's Guesthouse several times and each visit has been amazing and truly relaxing. The decor is charming, warm, homey, and the view is so serene you will want to return over and over. Just a quick drive and you're on the Blue Ridge Parkway or visiting the cute shops of Floyd or drinking a nice glass of wine at Chateau Morrisette. You can’t go wrong...it’s home away from home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: I am an interior designer and my husband is in real estate and construction. We love to work in our garden and grow our own food. I love to sled in my yard and go tubing down the Little River. We do not like organized travel ...whether in another country or our own we enjoy getting off of the beaten path and exploring. We stay away from "touristy" spots.
Why the Owner Chose Floyd:
It is easy to get to and close to other attractions...wineries, cultural art centers, biking and hiking spots, wilderness adventures. There are hundreds of acres of undeveloped land surrounding the house.
