My sisters, husband, and I met in Galveston for the week of Dickens on the Strand. Everything was exactly as described in the listing - only better. We rented two condos for the week and this one was far superior. Everything was shiny clean and we did all our cooking in this unit because the kitchen was so much nicer. Loved the large balcony looking out on the ocean. The view was great morning or night! Cat was very professional and easy to work with. She's got all the paperwork so well organized that booking is a breeze. My family loves fresh shrimp - take the 25 minute drive to Kemah and find fantastic seafood markets. While there, stop at the Swamp Shack for some great food and unique appetizers. We will always look to see if this condo is available when we plan a trip to Galveston. We celebrated my birthday while there - it was perfect!

Wonderful condo, exceeded our expectations! The condo is very clean, well stocked and with items that you wouldn't expect but so happy that you have them. Loved the balcony that is accessable from both the living area as well as the main bedroom. Loved that each bedroom had their own bathrooms, and also that the kitchen had everything you could need to cook with. Condo is within walking distance of the beach and conveniently located to all the attractions. Would definitely recommend this to al my friends

i'm kinda cheating, but we had the same awesome experince as the family before us!! We stayed at this beautiful condo from 8/25 through 8/29/2011. When we walked in it was just as it is pictured - neat, clean, beautifully decorated, perfect! Everything we could have needed or wanted was already there for us. Cat has anticipated our every need! We enjoyed having beverages on the balcony overlooking the ocean every morning and restaurants and attractions are close also. We felt right at home! We wished we could stay longer. Truly a great vacation! We cannot wait to go back!

Everything we could have needed or wanted was already there for us. Cat has anticipated our every need! We enjoyed having coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean every morning and restaurants and attractions are close also. We felt right at home! We wished we could stay longer. Condo By the Sea

We invited another couple to join us for the weekend at the By the Sea condo. When we walked in we could not have been more pleased! The condo was beautifully decorated and spotlessly cleaned. The view was all we had hoped for. The bedrooms are separate and private. We enjoyed playing games at the comfy dining table and lounging in the living area watching the pelicans dive for food. Restaurants and attractions are all nearby. The condo is located on the quiet end of Seawall Blvd. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone wanting a comfortable, roomy, clean place to stay - WITH A VIEW! We will be returning again soon.

My family and I had a wonderful vacation-in large part, due to the outstanding condo we stayed at. Your windows look right out to the beach and you're centrally located to everything fun on the island-the Strand, Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, and some of the best restraunts. The beds are a little stiff, but if you're looking for a great place to hang your beach towel---this is it!!

The Condo fulfilled all our expectations. It was bright, clean, and very comfortable. It was too hot for the beach, but the pool was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner was easy to deal with and we feel we got our money's worth. We have rented lots of properties in many locations and were very pleased with this experience. John and Lynn Massachusetts

We had a fantastic time in this fun and funky joint. Don't leave your flip flops behind, they'll probably end up as decor! It's perfectly located with an unobstructed view of the gulf and minutes from the top attractions like Moody Gardens and Shlitterbahn. The amenities were great and the space was very comfortable. Well done.

The condo was great. It was clean, comfortable, and decorated with a fun beach theme. The condo is close enough to the touristy east end of the island and the Strand district to be convenient. However, it's far enough west to be a bit more laid-back. You really do feel like you have the privilege of living by the sea for a week. I highly recommend this place.

This condo was everthing advertised-all you need is your swimsuit and towel! Great location. Condo itself and condo complex(By the Sea) very well maintained. I have rented condos in South Padre, Destin and Gulf Shores, and this complex is the best managed/maintained I have come across! I would defiantely stay here again. Labor Day Weekend

We rented the condo for Labor Day weekend/my husband's 33rd. birthday. My inlaws were in from Chicago and my Mom joined us on the trip. We had plenty of room in the condo and we all loved how fun the paint colors and decorations were. My Mom couldn't get over how clean every room was (she's really picky). My inlaws loved that they could sit on the balconey and see the water. They also LOVED the pool. The pictures posted of the condo are completely accurate and there was no disappointment when we arrived. The owner was great about getting back to me whenever I had a question when we were booking this trip and has quickly returned our deposit. I had read a review from a past renter complaining about the beds but no one in our group had any negative comments. (And my father in law has a neurological disease as well as sleep apnea) We can't wait to go back!!

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your condo. The decor was bright and sunny, the way it should be while staying on the beach. We were literally next to everything yet a bit away from the hustle and bustle. This place was right next door to a Walmart and the condo was fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans and plates and bowls, our mornings were spent cooking breakfast and packing lunches for the beach, the restuarants were so close and so we did dinner at Fishtales and Rainforrest Cafe (we have 2 year old). Once again thank you, what a great way to end the Summer.

The condo was an excellent choice. I had never rented a condo before so it was a new experience for us. We met another couple from Lubbock area there so there was (5) of us staying at the condo. We had plenty of room --no elbow to elbow stuff!! The condo was extremely clean. The decor was bright and friendly. It reminded you of being on the beach. We had everything we needed to make our short stay very enjoyable. We cooked breakfast every morning and sat on the balcony and enjoyed watching the waves roll in. The pool was the biggest I've seen offered for this type of arrangement. My 4 year old nephew didn't want to leave. He still wants to go back to our room!!! I highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting to visit the Galveston area. Cat is very helpful with any questions you might have. My deposit is already in the mail ---no waiting months to receive it or wandering if you'll even get it back.

By The Sea condo was charming and cute; so colorful and comfortable. A great location! Seawall blvd has lots to do. Everyone was very nice at the complex too. We liked having the pool as an option! Galveston was a fun place too! We felt right at home in our condo; which was great after a hot day of frolicking in the ocean and galavanting around Galveston.

My husband, brother-in-law and his wife and I stayed end of June, 2010 and was thankful to see Galveston back to most of it glory. The condo is very comfortable with a great location. Definitely plan on staying there again next year! The beach across from the condo is not one that you want to spend a lot of time on but good beaches are less than 5 minutes by car, or 10 minutes by foot. Condo, pool and surrounding area all clean and comfy. Highly recommend!

I was pleased to find the condo clean with everything you would need to "move" right in. I really appreciated the prompt return of my deposit. The view is great. The staff in the lobby where friendly and helpful. I want to commend the woman a the desk that helped me print my airline tickets. The owner of the condo was very professional and would recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I went here for Memorial Day weekend. There was 4 adults and 2 children and it was spacious. The swimming pool was nice and had a BBQ. It was minutes from the attractions. I highly suggest going to Moody Gardens. Get the pass cause it is worth it. You have to pay to get on the good beaches otherwise you are dealing with dirty beaches and no public bathrooms. The things I didn't like was the beds were HARD!! The mosquitos made it impossible to sit on the patio. Went to Walmart and bought a citronella candle which took care of the problem. The traffic was incredibly loud. Made it hard for my daughter and I to sleep. The final thing that bothered me was the ocean access across the street wasn't a "beach". There was no sand just bricks. There was stairs but they stopped halfway down and there was a drop off. I had never gone to Galveston before and I had a different idea of what I would be getting.

Owner response:Thanks for your review! Personally, I get a good night sleep on either one of the queen size mattresses in the condo. What you consider HARD, I consider FIRM. Both mattresses are of "high quality". My family and I stayed in the condo after Hurricane Ike. After the stress and clean up of the day, I couldn't wait for my head to touch the pillow. Happy Day.

We had an excellent stay at this condo. It was furnished with everything we needed. The view is awesome and the condo is clean. The owner is always available by phone and quick to respond to emails. We checked out on the 4-25-2010 and she had a deposit check in the mail by 4-28-2010. Nice.

The condo was an excellent choice for our long road trip. Clean, great views, two bathrooms.. great TV selection.. we even ordered in the first night to avoid the many restaurants we had stayed in.. perfect! Much better than a hotel.. for the same cost if not less! The front desk was very helpful and was able to do some laundry! Swam in the ocean for the whole next day.. would highly recommend this condo.

My wife booked this condo last year and loved it so much she advertised for it for free on her own website (which isn't even a real-estate or vacation rental site). I had my first stay here this past weekend and now I see why she brags about the place so much. Great location, spectacular view, easy access to room and lobby, awesome parking, great security and residents, no negatives in my book & I am picky. My little girl loves the place, especially her own 'purple' room. I think my favorite aspect of the condo was the big kitchen (I love to cook). Thanks Cat!

What a fun condo! We did lots of research before picking a condo in Galveston, as we have never done the "condo thing" before on this island, but have always stayed in hotels. I don't think we could do a hotel again after our experience here! This place is perfectly located on the Seawall, delivers gorgeous views of the Gulf, and has all the amenities you need. The building is very well maintained with well manicured grounds, a clean pool, etc. We also felt very safe as there is always someone at the front desk 24 hours a day, and after hours you have to be buzzed in by security. Loved it loved it loved it! The condo is even cuter in person and very clean. Loved having morning coffee on the long balcony (saw dolphins jumping in the ocean right from our balcony!) Thanks, Cat, for taking pride in your cute, tastefully decorated, beachy condo and letting others enjoy it at an extremely reasonable price. We will most definitely be back!

LOVED this condo! Great location, can't beat the price, super clean atmosphere, very friendly staff. We will stay here from now on when visiting. The pictures don't do it justice, it is MUCH bigger then we thought it would be. The balcony is WONDERFUL! The rooms are so darling and vibrant. We visit Galveston often and were always hoping to find our favorite spot to stay. Found it!
