Winter brings awesome comfort as well. Relaxing in front of the in- room fire place after a day of skiing at many of the area ski resorts: only 5 min to Bousquet; 30 min to Jiminy Peak and about 40 min to Butternut Basin in Great Barrington.
Tastefully decorated, post and beam home in a quiet, wooded setting. Richmond Pond, which is quite large, a mile long and nearly a mile wide, is spring-fed, clear and cold. But quite refreshing to swim in in the summer and fish - lots of fish. Bass, stocked trout, perch, & pickerel. We have private and public beaches and boat launches.
The house has two large bedrooms,(one king bed, one queen bed) and one full shower bath. Plenty of closet space in each bedroom. The main living space is open and bright, with several sliding glass doors opening to a wrap-around deck, cantilevered under mature maple trees. Enjoy a barbecue or dinner on the shady deck in the cool Berkshire evenings.
Our kitchen is modern and fully-equipped, with plenty of cupboards and counter space. It is open to a dining area and windowed solarium. The living room, stairs, and bedrooms are fully carpeted.
The living room includes a queen-bed sofa with love seat, TV, VCR,DVD, CD stereo player, built-in desk, and an in-room standing fireplace. We have an extensive library for your enjoyment; fiction, nonfiction, children, sci-fi, classics, biographies and info regarding local attractions.
We are just ten minutes to Lenox, Stockbridge, or Pittsfield; for easy access to all the many cultural amenities of the Berkshires.

We had a great long weekend at this rental. We bbq-d every night, making great use of the deck and the well-equipped kitchen. Neighbors are all very pleasant and the lake community has a nice feel to it. The bed was comfortable and I am very sensitive to noise but found this house to be very peaceful and quiet. We opted for more outdoorsy activities than cultural ones but found that all were very close. There are some great markets (gourmet and super stop-n-shop) within 10 minutes and all have great, fresh options. Susan was extremely helpful with directions. maps, and she even brought by kayaks for us to use in the lake- such a treat! We definitely hope to stay here again soon.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

Overlooking a spring fed lake is misleading. This house does not overlook the lake. If you want to go to the lake you either cross the road and go onto private property or walk down the road to a community beach area. Also, there is no canoe any longer. Owners did provide kayaks but we had to truck them to get them in the water or tresspass on neighbor's property to get them in the water. House is very accomodating and clean. Yard is nice with outdoor fire place that was enjoyable. Ruth and Joe Summer 2008.
