Set on a one-acre grassy knoll at the edge of a small village, Villa Antoinette offers privacy, comfort and convenience in true Umbrian style. Come to relax poolside as you plan your daily excursions to the medieval town of Orvieto, or nearby Todi, Spoleto, Assisi, Viterbo or even Rome -- a wonderful day trip. After your adventures, return to a well-equipped kitchen to prepare a wonderful meal (there is a library including local cook books!) or delight in local fare at one of the many restaurants down the road.
This is a family home which has been offered for rental only recently, to much acclaim. There is an outdoor grill/pizza oven for cooking during the warmer summer months as well. Eat outdoors under the flowering pergola, or on the patio. Or, take your meals in the formal dining area or casual breakfast room. The well-appointed bedrooms have quality mattresses and linens, and baths are well-designed and modern for your convenience. Decor employs local tiles and materials right down to the tufa surrounding the pool -- the local stone. This is your home in Italy!

Why the Owner Chose Orvieto
The community of Torre San Severo is not just your average Umbrian village. The people are warm and friendly, yes, but there is a special closeness you feel here and a sense of a tight-knit community that attracts visitors to their local events year round.
The Unique Benefits at this House
A walk into the village, a visit to the Saturnia hot sulphur springs, a visit to the archeo park to see Etruscan tombs thousands of years old and roads hand carved from the rock! Or, we relax by the pool, read a good book and plan how we are going to make pizza in our outdoor brick oven!
Owner's Map of Orvieto
I am of Italian origin and love the country, the people, the food and wine, and just about everything else about this beautiful land! We stay in our home every other year and rent it out as much as possible to share this extraordinary place.

This villa (and we have rented many throughout the world) is authentic to the region - stone, wood and furnishing - including the village in which it nestles. We found the space, privacy and quiet invaluable. The pool is quite wonderful, either for cooling off before lunch on the terrace, or for a companionable dip with family and friends. The property has a kind of mystical charm to it (the summer moon rises right over the fence), and if one sits peacefully still, one can find oneself becoming Italian - particularly if clutching a glass of Orvieto wine. Speaking of Orvieto, the villa is also ideal for touring the hill towns of the region, with Orvieto being numero uno. There are also lots of really good inexpensive country restaurants within driving distance. I'd recommend this villa to any travellers yearning either for peace and quiet, or for family closeness in a busy world. It is also beautifully equipped for anyone who likes to cook - outside wood oven, lots of wine glasses and other equipment.
Owner response:So happy your stay was a success! Just met up with people who stayed a few weeks later and they told us the story of how they threw a birthday party for a friend who visited, and invited the whole village! They held it at the restaurant at the edge of town that had only opened two weeks before - it was a huge success, with live music, food, dancing, etc. So that's what I'm planning for myself next year on my birthday!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
