La Bastide Vieille is a magnificently renovated 17th Century Provencal farmhouse set in four acres of lovely countryside. Our home is surrounded by cherry orchards and vineyards, giving it a secluded setting with outstanding views of the famous Luberon Mountain to the south, and the village of Lacoste and the Mount Ventoux to the north. Both the medieval villages of Lacoste and Bonnieux offer restaurants, cafés, shops, galleries, and winding narrow streets just begging for investigation.
La Bastide Vieille has 4 bedrooms (one with twin beds, one with one double plus one twin, one with one double and one with one queen) and a baby crib.
Ours is a very special house and reflects all you've ever dreamed about country life in Provence. Outside, in addition to our stunning view of the Luberon, cherry orchards, mature cypress trees, lavender, and a sheltered courtyard with graceful olive trees, you will discover our "secret garden", a vegetable garden and a new orchard. Inside you'll love our warm Provencal colors, two fireplaces, and lovely art.
From the courtyard, step up to the swimming pool area, also surrounded with a stone wall, and planted with a lovely olive tree, figs trees and roses. Our large (4 x 10 meters) pool has its own pool house (shower, W.C.), and covered barbecue. A very special place for a relaxing summer dinner. And all this is surrounded by enormous expanses of farmland and exquisite views of the Lubéron!
La Bastide Vieille is secluded, with no other homes nearby to spoil your rendez-vous with nature. You can hike in the Luberon forest, bike to various villages, we have four mountain bikes, shop in the many boutiques and art galleries in Bonnieux, visit the fascinating museums (lavender, corkscrew, and bakery museums), and dine in top restaurants. We'll leave you a list of our favorites.
Our home is light and colorful, and has beautiful art. It's warm in winter and always cool in summer. We have four charming bedrooms: La Chambre Coquelicot (The Poppy Room) with a queensized bed, antique tile floor, and an ensuite shower room; La Chambre Iris (The Iris Room) with one double plus a twin, slanted ceiling, sky light and ensuite shower room; La Chambre Tournesol (The Sunflower Room) with double bed, private terrace and large private bathroom next door; and La Petite Lavande (The Little Lavender) which has twin beds and shares the upstairs bathroom.
